Greendale Pub is a solid choice for delicious food and good drinks, especially during the warmer months when you can sit out in the patio area. The inside is great too for watching games or the high school marching band (when they happen to be on TV!) with bar seating as well high tops, tables and booths. I've had the fish fry, which was great, as well as the turkey cranberry sandwich but the menu and specials keep expanding bringing in the crowds. The servers are friendly, although speed can be spotty depending on how busy they are and how many tables the server has to manage. If you don't get there early, expect a wait or have a backup plan. A reservation system would be better because I've walked away more times than I can count due to the very long wait times but that's to be expected with a local pub favorite around dinnertime. read more

Not entirely great, I asked the hostess if I could please have a table for 8 and she proceeded with, "So you you're meeting a table of 8 or like you want a table" As there are 7 people behind me. After I told her "A table for 8", she then paused looked around for another worker, it took them about 10 minutes to figure out whatever it was, during those 10 minutes two other workers came and asked the same damn question "So you're looking for a table of 8" stared at us, and walked off. After a while the first hostess asked "Is it fine if we seat you outside" Like please just sit us why don't you. They take us to the back and leave us to choose and so we choose our table no waiter has given us the menu, a few minutes later we get 1 menu. Off the bat worst customer service. Used to be a big fan of this place, but question if I'll be back after my most recent visit. Service was lacking from the minute we walked in the door, the teenage hostess had an attitude and was too busy fixing her hair instead. After ordering,we waited for food for over an hour. Was told the "kitchen was backed up" yet the restaurant was not full and no other tables were eating either. We were ready to leave any only when we asked our waitress and that it "would be out in two minutes"we stayed. Food was meh--the bacon & bleu burger was missing the bacon, fries were cold. We stopped into Panther Pub in Greendale on a recent Saturday afternoon and were able to walk right in with no wait. The vibe was fun and laid back, which we enjoyed. Nice bar and grill! We came in on a Friday evening, and were immediately greeted by the hostess. It was packed and a bit smaller of a space than expected, but we were able to get a seat without a wait. Our server was very friendly and took our order in a timely manner. We got the bourbon chicken sandwich and fish fry. The chicken sandwich was flavorful, and the sweet potato fries were solid. The fish fry was also delicious. It was weirdly a little sweet on the outside, not sure why, but it somehow worked. The three pieces are on the smaller side, but it was the perfect portion for my appetite. They are beer battered and light and crispy. The coleslaw and fries were also yummy. Our server had a lot of tables so it took a while for her to check on us, but she excused herself and explained to us the slow service. I always appreciate when servers can acknowledge our wait. You will love this place. Located in beautiful downtown Greendale, Wisconsin. Once you walk through the front door, you are transported to the walls of history of Panther sports in Greendale. You will find that there's plenty of seating (including booths and table tops). The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The environment was perfect for carrying on conversations while enjoying the atmosphere of the pub itself. Throughout the week, they have various events, including trivia. The menu has a good variety of items, including sandwiches, but also has some great dinner items like pasta and various fish entrees. They have their own personal take on a Wisconsin Fish Fry. They serve very good pub burgers and also a wonderful Reuben sandwich. We look forward to going back and trying more menu items. Prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking behind the building in addition to parking near the front door. We went here on a Thursday evening, it was hardly packed. The ambiance was teenage servers who could be dis interested that you are there. Our server was nice very fast and honestly felt a bit rushed. Our food was subpar. The BLT was basic and unelevated, kind of cold as well. I just liked everything about this place nestled in the cute little village of Greendale. The service was very fast and attentive and the food was really good. I had the fish fry, nice crunchy batter and perfect portion size. The cole slaw was yummy and creamy. This is a rarity - but they had probably the best applesauce that came with the potato pancakes. It seemed homemade - it was cinnamon applesauce with soft little chunks. So good! The potato pancakes had a good flavor. Had a good lunch on a Saturday. It was a little too chilly for outdoor dining so we got a high top booth. They have plenty of options on the menu, especially with sides. I had the philly cheesesteak sandwich on ciabatta which was scrumptious. We also really loved the "mystery beer" option on their drink menu For $3, they pick a bottle of beer for you. We tried it 2 times (2 of us) and we got a cerveza, mango wheat beer, weiss beer, and the cerveza again. Fun experience but would have hoped for a different 4th beer. The staff wore masks and there was spacing throughout to make our group feel comfortable. They had sanitizer throughout as well. The side options are great. This was my local restaurant to support for today so I called to see if the fish fry was available for lunch and I was told yes so I went over. I ordered the three piece beer battered cod with potato pancakes and it was ready in 10 minutes which was good. The fish looked good until I got into it a little closer/better. The fish was nice flaky filets but it was soggy and oily. The potato pancakes were not seasoned and super soggy and oily that I had to put them on a paper towel to sop up some of the oil. Fried food is soggy and oily when cooked at the wrong temperature or the fryer is over crowded which drops the temperature of the oil. The coleslaw really looked good but it was nothing exciting. I don't read any reviews before I go to a restaurant so I don't have anything in my head to influence my reviews so I can form an honest opinion. I did read the reviews after my fish fry to see if my experience was a fluke and sure enough someone said the same thing and that the fish fry has no consistency because sometimes it's good and sometimes it's oily. This was probably my first 2 star review for a Milwaukee fish fry that I have given and that's a shame because all the others have been good to excellent. read more

Jacked Mac: Panther Pub & Eatery is located in the heart of Greendale, WI. They offer a wide enough selection of drinks and food to please most groups. My party got Potato-Tots (crispy fried tater tots, bacon, sour cream, cheddar & green onion) and Boneless chicken wings with dry rub for appetizers. I skipped the warm up to save room for my entrée though, which was the "Jacked Mac". The plate came with Cavataapi noodles soaked in a creamy white cheddar cheese sauce. Topping it off was chopped bacon & toasted panko. The toasted panko was a nice touch and the warm cheese sauce was fantastic. It could have used a little more of the toasted panko (a lot of the noodles on the periphery were bare) and definitely more cheese on top (as my followers know, I love a ton of cheese), but it was still a decent plate of Mac and Cheese (not quite on par with MACS, but better than Noodles & Company). I would also suggest using larger noodles, but the cheese sauce was bomb. It would also have been nice to have more add on options like pork or beef (they do allow chicken to be added, but I have an allergy to an antibiotic used in poultry and it was unclear if their chicken was of the no antibiotics ever variety). My husband and I recently moved to the Greendale area. I have heard great reviews about the panther pub and thought we should give it a try. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a host that sat us down in a booth right away. I ordered the you betcha fries which is shown down below in one of the photos. The straight cut Cajun/barbecue fries had a nice crunchy texture on the outside and soft middle. The seasoning was not evenly spread throughout the basket though... this ultimately left you digging for the ones you desired. The menu listed that it came with a beer cheese which I was excited for. Come to find out that the beer cheese was mislabeled because it is actually a nacho cheese. The cheese reminded me of a high school concession stand pretzel cheese. Granted it might've been the theme since this pub is known as the local sports bar for the high school. I ordered the Philly steak with tator tots and my husband ordered the prime rib special. The tots were great, the Philly sandwich and prime rib were mediocre. The steak was cut like ground beef served with a low amount of onion, peppers, and mushrooms and didn't provide the right bite you were hoping for. My husband got the prime rib special and in his words "This prime rib tastes like a chuck roast..." the meat didn't come out looking right at all. The prime rib was rubbery and lacked flavor and depth. The mashed potato's that came with it was cold, but the flavor was okay. The tenders were burnt and dry and we informed the waitress who stated "that is how they are". We then asked for grilled chicken instead ( it want offered). My friend waited a long time (which would have been fine because we are gabbers if it came out hot and delicious) for the grilled chicken, we were basically all done eating and it came - flavorless and dry as well. That was a disappointment. Drinks ordered were 2 bloody Mary's w/beer chaser and a Sea breeze. All ok. Nothing to write home about. I ordered their Kettle One Peach and Orange mixed drink and that tasted amazing!! Not too sweet -perfect blend. The majority of their mixed drinks came with top shelf liquors which I appreciated and enjoyed!! They give Veteran discounts so that was nice. Our waitress was really friendly and made sure we weren't missing anything. Kind of disappeared at the end so I had to check out at the front, but overall good service. When I notified the waitress she literally snatched the drink away (did not say a word), came back a few minutes later with the correct drink and blamed it on the bartender. She was not very friendly. Our food was "ok". The chicken fingers could have been done a little longer for color. The menu has not really changed much, they need an UPDATE. I have eaten here for years, some food some service better at times, but now it is just feeling dated. We are seniors....were there for Village days and live in the area but wanted to sit inside. When we entered the bar area it was late afternoon and there were few people with no line. Two workers at the podium but I had to ask for help after waiting. Were put in back on the right side of the room...the left side was warm and quiet but we were soooo cold and it was terrible noisy. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and asked the waitress if it came with sauce...(not naked)..she stated OH YES it is made here and all is mixed. So we ordered...waited some time then a basket came (2)...the pork was gray and cold and so was the bun...NoO sauce. I asked where is it..she said turn the sandwich upside down and there should be a little juice...god very little that you could see thru it..about half a teaspoon! Again I asked for some and was given an ICE COLD out of a cooler sm plastic thing with dark red sauce ....what a bad experience...our group is to go there soon but everyone is afraid of what they will get.... If you want hot food and more than one cup of coffee and soft hot pork with cooked sauce in it...go to somewhere else. read more

Grabbed dinner and drinks with a few girlfriends this past week - great food, service, cocktails, the works. Decor was very comfy. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. They nailed it! And oh my god, the women's bathroom was fabulous. Seems crazy to write a review on that, but it was very spacious, with feminine toiletries available and displayed nicely along side candles atop a beautiful vintage dresser. I've been here before and remember it being better than it was today. Today we dropped in for a late lunch. Got a table right away. After a quick view of the menu and being briefed on the daily specials, we chose to have the available all day fish fry. It came with potato pancakes, applesauce, rye bread and slaw. We tried the clam cowder and the panther pub chips. Personally I thought the soup had far to much bacon and ham flavor to be clam cowder. Thumbs down on the soup. I was really looking forward to the chips. Chips with Applewood bacon, white cheddar and blue cheese crumbles. Too bad we got fried pickle chips delivered to the table. The pickle chips were good, probably the second best thing we had. A little too greasy but hey they are fried. The fish was really hot. Burn your mouth hot but that's far better than getting it cold. But again, just far too greasy. With a tarter sauce that was mostly mayo. Not good. I had high hopes for the potato pancakes. Sadly they also let me down. They needed more onion and everything on the plate just completely lacked seasoning. I mean really bland. The best thing was the apple sauce. Overall disappointing. read more
