Today my husband and I went to On The Edge for pizza. When are pizza came out the gentleman who brought it told us that he burned the edges so we were getting another one for free. That was absolutely amazing customer service. He could have easily passed it off but instead he made sure that our pizza was perfect. We will be back over and over again because the pizza even if the edges were a little burned was absolutely delicious and so was the second one. How do you advertise Grilled cheese then when I have someone pick it up, they call me to say they don't have it on the menu!!! I had to call & question it. Don't you think one take it off the menu. Take it off your register & call the customer & say sorry we're not making your food! Then I say I still want both orders of fries & when my food comes in had neither... my sons food was burnt! & the other person I had get my food had issues too. This place wouldn't fix his food but made my fries. What a joke. That cook isn't that special he could've make a grilled cheese since it was advertised & that manager should find another career since she can't do her job! What an odd combination, a gym connected to a pizza joint. Seems counterproductive. In winter, this place is cold, I had to eat with my coat on. Service was initially kind of slow, but once ordered the pizza came out quickly, hot, it was very good. A thin crust, chewy, server was excellent. read more

Food was pathetic. We ordered two fish fries which were overcooked. My waffle fries were so overcooked I asked if they were seasoned because they were dark orange. My husband was banging his fish on the table. When the waitress came over and asked how it was we said it was inedible and she said "we'll eat what you can". Seriously? The win for the night was 20% off our bill. That was sarcasm. The honest win was the garlic bread. It was cooked perfectly. And it's way too dark in there. Stopped in after seeing countless reviews raving about their pizza. They open at 11am on Saturdays and it was around 11:30am when we arrived yet the lack of acknowledgement combined with the side glances from staff made us question if we should stay. It was awkward. We ordered our pizza and despite being the only customers during our entire visit, the pizza was made incorrectly. Gratefully the bartender did catch that and had them make another one right away. We weren't in a hurry so we had no problem waiting but...file it under things that make ya go hmmm, I guess. The pizza itself was a good pie. Sauce wasn't too sweet or savory but a nice balance. It was well cooked, crust was thin, crispy and chewy in all the right places and the cheese was the perfectly cooked to golden. This used to have the best pizza close to the area of Southridge before it was sold. Now it is not the same crust or made the same. I stopped here after work for a beer and a takeout burger for later after noticing this place when going to Macy's one night and thought that's it's kinda hidden in the back of an athletic club which is weird. What's weirder is a window that looks down into the athletic club and a inside side door that opens right into the athletic club from the bar/restaurant. The place is a bar/restaurant with a dining room as you walk in, bar straight back, pool room next to the bar and a lot of TVs. The woman working the bar like a boss and finally got to me so I ordered a space dust beer and a cheeseburger rare, I explained to her to have the cook make it extra rare because it's takeout and it will keep cooking on the ride home. Thank you to the cook who understood that because two hours later when I ate it, it was still rare and juicy. The space dust beer was cold and refreshing even though I do like my stouts and heavy beers. My cheeseburger was pepper Jack with lettuce, tomato and onion which is what I like for the most part that came with seasoned frys. The seasoned frys were hot/crisp but on the dry side, I tried them right away to see how they were and they are just ok. The cheeseburger was a half pound and cooked to perfection, the bottom bun had no chance of surviving all that rare juicy ness. The cheeseburger was good because it was simple with rare beef, bun, lettuce, tomato and onions with no sauces so you could taste all the fresh ingredients because sometimes I just like a simple cheeseburger. I would definitely go back for a beer and try some more of the menu because the wings looked good. read more

Then when it came out, 2 people got their food then 10 minutes later the third person and then the 4 person had to wait another ten minutes before finding out that the order was never put in. It was horrible service for mediocre food. Never again. And it's wasn't even that busy. Open tables when there's only 8 tables. read more

This is a very cute corner neighborhood bar. The staff is very friendly. You can rent out the hall for a very reasonable price and choose from their catering menu. They also have brunch Saturday and Sundays. It is a great space with lots of potential. The generally slow service and outdated look of this Southside bar and grill is made up for by their delicious food. Everything I've eaten here is very good. Generously portioned Friday fish fry, pizzas, cheesy bread, and mozzarella sticks, to name a few, have not disappointed. When picking up my order my card was charged before they gave me my order. only one of the two pizzas I ordered was given to me saying that they didn't have the ingredients for the other one. The person handling the transaction took down my card information to process a refund. A month later the refund was never processed so I called today to just get a credit and have them make me the pizza instead of having to give me a refund. I get home with the pizza and it was baked with no cheese on it. Yelp has this place categorized as a Sports Bar, but I would disagree. There will probably be sports on one of the many TVs in the bar area, but if you sit further back, you're in more of a restaurant atmosphere. Neither one is bad, it just depends on what kind of mood you're in and what kind of people you want to be around. I've only eaten the pizza and the wings here, and both are delicious! We ordered 6 wings with the Sweet Thai Chili sauce and 6 with the Sriracha sauce. Both had a kick and were very flavorful; the wings were decent sized, not minuscule like I've had at some places. Bone-in and boneless are options. I've tried the meat lovers and the BBQ chicken pizza. Both are thin crust and the sauce is not overbearing. The amount of meat and cheese on both are the perfect ratio, with the meat on the meat lovers being a little on the salty side. The pizzas are cut into squares, which I'm not a fan of, but, whatever.....it's all gonna be the same mash up in my belly! There is a full bar here as well as a wine list, and a few hidden-gem micro brews and hard ciders. If you're ever out by Southridge, bypass all the chain restaurants and head behind the mall to the corner of 68th and Edgerton. You're in for a treat! 12/2019 read more

Great thin crust pizza made from scratch, as in they make their own pizza dough, not like so many other places that advertise home made pizza but simply slap toppings on a frozen crust that they bought from a distributor. The crust has a cracker crunch around the edge and stays fairly crisp in the center. Pizza sauce is slightly spicy and delicious. Three cheese blend is also delicious. Their sausage ia made locally by a "mom and pop" butcher. It's spicy and tender. Love it! Other items I've tried over two visits include garlic cheese bread (the cheese doesn't bury the garlic flavor), mozzarella sticks made with wonton wraps and served with an awesome marinara sauce, and wings with 7 sauce options that are deep fried crisp and can be finished on the flame grill if requested (I highly recommend this). Other than that, this is your typical sports bar that has new ownership as of about a year ago (was formerly Jimmy K's) and is attached to Southridge Athletic Club, which also changed ownership hands and has been completely gutted, restored, and remodeled with new equipment. Gotta agree with Rick R's review! Great thin crust pizza. Thin, crispy, and good flavor. Its cut tavern style (in squares). They also have some good local brews on tap, maybe 8 or so ? They didn't have any IPA's on tap, but they did have bottles of Lagunitas. Our server recommended a local wit beer from OGI and it was really good. On the edge is your typical sports bar. It was maybe half full when we got here. The staff was busy, but friendly and welcoming. We were greeted and told to feel free to sit at the bar or a table. Katy, our server was the only one working the floor, she was very busy, but efficient. She still managed to be personable and check on things. read more

All of this review is factual.... First off the pickle pizza is very good. Had it twice before tonight. No complaints and only complements on that pizza The bad.... Arrived at 445pm. It was myself and my mom and one other group of four . That was it. We ordered an app and the pickle pizza. After we ordered more people came in. Ordered food. Got food. Ate and left. We are waiting for our pizza (we did get our appetizers in a timely manner). We asked at 6pm if our pizza would be out soon (reminder we ordered at around 4:5ish). They said 10 more minutes. I set my stop watch. 12 minutes later we got up and went to the host stand to tell them we wanted our money back. Done waiting... The bartender (maybe the manager also??) ran up and said the pizza is done. She did offer something for the long wait but i said i want either my money back or the pizza. You decide... they gave us the pizza to go... moral of this factual story. If you want to wait for an hour plus for a pizza and see others that come in after you eat and leave then this place is for you. If you like something a bit more timely than an hour and a half to get a pizza then try a different place. read more

Oh boy what a let down! I (used) to absolutely love this place for their excellent food. You could always count on anything from the kitchen here to be superb; burgers, pizza wings, tacos... for years. Monday nights is their jumbo chicken wings special. I don't usually go out on a Monday but for these wings I could make an exception. The tables have turned dramatically at On The Edge and I'm very sad to say the "Best Wings in Milwaukee" are no more. Last Monday the wings were quite well done and although crispy and palatable overall they were somewhat dry and not very flavorful. And the complexity of those normally delicious wing sauces has vanished. They still offer a variety of flavors to choose from however looking at everyone's orders at the bar eating chicken wings you could not see any sauce on anyone's wings. No more gooey, sticky, messy finger-lickin' anything! Ruining the meal totally, the Teriyaki sauce we ordered was as thin as water and tasted like pure salt. It was not appetizing at all. The available sauces just disappear once applied to the food. It just soaks in and vanishes. No more slathered BBQ. Or anything else as far as saucing the wings goes. It's missing the punch. It's missing all the fun it used to be eating wings! Because the sauce is the boss. Not many local taverns that offer chicken wings have a problem with their choices of wing sauce. Within the last couple of weeks, I've also ordered wings at Braun's Powerhouse and Dick & Gloria's. And par for the course It is safe to say they know how to serve chicken wings proper. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to On The Edge anytime soon. They need to get back on track and serve customer what they want and what they expect (and deserve). read more

Then 2 wraps and a burger for our meals. We waited 30 minutes and hadn't even received our appetizer. Meanwhile there were people getting food after we had ordered before them. This the first review I've ever posted. I've always been involved in my life working for small business, and have seen first hand how comments or reviews on social media affects a business. Tonight was unbelievable at this place. I went to this bar with several friends and was having a great time. We were getting ready to leave just waiting for a female friend to come out of the restroom when shit hit the fan. A gentleman that was standing at the bar 3 chairs to my left that I had never met before dropped like a brick. At fist a thought he might of tripped he seemed young probably late 20's early 30's. Friends of his helped him to his feet. I thought all is well I mean I'm leaving as soon as our friend is done with the restroom then within 2 minutes the guy faints, passes out again, crashing to the floor. I was red alert concerned, this is not normal. It did not matter at that point that I never met or knew this person he needed medical attention. I immediately started trying to get the bartenders attention to turn down the music that something was going horribly wrong, but he told me that he was busy doing dishes. The individual was still on the floor I started to panic about the bars lack of concern and started screaming to my friend to call 911. That's when things got insane. Numerous people that worked at the bar and one clown that said he owned the bar attacked my friend because he was calling 911, then said owner came to me and said if I don't take my friend and me to exit immediately that he and two other of his friends were going to fuck us up. I asked aren't you concerned with this guy three feet away that might be dying. His answer was he will be fine. Some one else did call 911, the cops came in talked to the clown and his minions. The officers asked my friend and I to wait outside. Then some customer of the bar threw a big chunk of ice hitting my friend in the face. Cops did nothing we went outside waited for the cops to come out and when they did they treated my friend like he was konrack from Dahmer. I want to be clear alcohol was involved on every side but the cops and employees of this place were pathetic. I mean how crazy is the notion that you could be out having fun and someone next to you drops two times in 5 minutes and when you show concern you are threatened by the employees and the owne. Ordered through Yelp/eat 24 app for delivery. The driver was polite and very pleasant. The crust and sauce are great. I would have gladly given 4 or more stars, but I did not receive what I ordered and paid for. I ordered the 14 in Special (sausage, shroom onions) but got a 14 inch cheese. It's still good! I'm hoping to get a credit so that I can try the special. I will order again, but will probably eat there or carry out next time. Visited again on 3/2. Wanted to try the fish fry. I have had the pizza a few times and found it to be very good. I almost don't want to tell any one about the fish fry because....IT WAS GREAT! I'm really picky about fish fry. We've eaten at this bar so many times with excellent, excellent pizza & we ate there every Friday before it became On the edge...Now you order a pizza it is skimpy with all ingredients. Ordered sausage, mushroom & onion. You have to ask for extra meat. Couldn't find the mushrooms, over kill on onions. I lost count how many times they burnt it. Tried pick up order & after today will find someplace else. Ordered sausage, extra sausage, onions, half pepperoni opposite half black olives. No extra meat. 3/4 was the olives. 1/4th was pepperoni that was so skimpy. Pizza sat on a table for 15 minutes before they wrapped it, cold by the time we got home 10 minute drive home... Would not recommend this joint...plus the cost is not worth it!!!!!!! read more

Didn't give them 5 stars because of staffing issues. The place was packed and there was the bartender, one server, and the cook! We got there early and didn't have too many problems. But as the place filled up customers were frustrated and some ended up leaving before getting waited on. They really could've used a bus person!! Or second server! The cook came out and was bussing tables! From what people have been saying this is common now days at many places! First time we have experienced it as we stick with our usual hangouts! All of that being said the food was really very good! Great pizza! Especially the pickle pizza! The two sandwiches we had were very good too! Hopefully they can hire some more staff!! Called to order a pizza. I have been there a few times before and was happy with the food. I wanted the On the edge pizza, but wanted half with pepperoni instead of the entire pizza with sausage. Wings were good, had a nice amount of sauce. Asked for grilled, didn't get grilled wings. The pizza was not what I had expected. 1/4 of the pizza didn't have any cheese on it. Not sure even where to start with this review. We stopped in with a few friends to shoot darts and enjoy some food and drinks. As we enter the dining area it smells of burnt pizza and there is a smokey haze. We head towards the area off to the right of the bar where the pool table and dart board are. The server clears the table in the corner for us. We sit down and order some drinks. My wife and I order some soup and appetizer when the server returns. Our soup comes fairly quickly severed in a white ceramic bowl with a plate underneath. The server tells us the soup was made the day before and says "enjoy" as she walks away. On first sight the soup seemed to be fine. I touched the outside of the bowl to find it very hot. I take my first spoonful and discovered the soup was luke warm at best and closer to fresh out of the refrigerator. When the server returns I explained that the soup was cold. Her response was that it doesn't reheat well in the microwave. I'm sorry but what legitimate restaurant reheats soup in the microwave. She did take the soup back for another spin in the microwave. The soup did return much warmer than the first time. The soup was heavily peppered and lacked any wow factor. Later in the evening I decided let's give them another go around. I ordered a patty melt, what could possibly go wrong. The patty melt arrived burn your mouth hot fries. So we know they know how to use a deep fryer. The patty melt was clearly a frozen burger patty possibly microwaved....lol The cheese was barely even melted, onions were still slightly crunchy. No attempt was made to even toast the rye bread, it literally came right out of the bread bag. Remember that table in the corner we were seated at? On the other side of the jukebox was a second table. In the 3 or so hours we were at our table, that table was vacant and quite full of dirty glassware and plates. Jimmy K's used to be THE place to be on any given night of the week. They used to have awesome daily specials on drinks and food. Their bartenders were great. The options of pool and darts made it a fun place to hang out with friends. There was a Mug Night on Tuesdays where you could have any size mug you wanted to bring filled for $3.00! Wednesdays had poker tournaments hosted in the side room off of the bar. Thursdays had Mexican themed specials on food and drink. And then there was the night of all nights at Jimmy K's - Fridays. Friday nights had a karaoke DJ with 2-4-1 drink specials all night. The place was packed every Friday, every week. I can't even convey how much fun this place WAS. Then Jimmy dropped the ball on EVERYTHING. Gone were the daily specials. Gone was the pool table and the dart bourd was shoved into a corner where no one can even use it. Gone was the karaoke DJ on Fridays. And now gone are the people. No one is packing this place full any more. You have to chance them even being open most nights past 10:00pm now! Basically, Jimmy knows what he is doing with the gym business next door. However, he has NO clue what he is doing when it comes to the bar business. Such a shame. read more

We have loved this pizza and have tried to support the workers during the pandemic by giving big tips with our orders. The last two pizzas were very different. Not the same taste, the crust wasn't the same, too much cheese. We always thought it was such a consistent flavor but now sorry that they changed it all.
