The old store front. (Now inclosed)

We decided to make the short trip up to Panthers after hearing it was back open. It doesn't look the same as it used to, as they have inclosed the front and added a small seating section, but once you walk in, you recognize it immediately. I should add that it's not called the Panther Drive In anymore. It's called Sarah's Sweet Treats & Drive In (reopened in June 2014) But everyone I know around here still calls it Panthers. We ordered and drank our shakes while we were waiting for our tenderloins and sides. The shakes are really tasty! We took the rest back home to eat after it was done. Tenderloins are fair. Definitely not what they used to be. They are too thick for a good old fashioned tenderloin, but they were tender, and the breading and loin seasoning was tasty. (The fiance thought the breading was too salty.) You can tell the tenderloins are handmade, so kudos for that! Sides (corn nuggets and jalapeño poppers are what we got) were just run of the mill frozen fried, but we're good as well. We won't be making the 20 min drive back up there to exclusively get their tenderloin, but if we are in the area or driving by, we may give it another try on the food, and won't hesitate to stop for some ice cream!

Good chimichanga, nice workers, cool air conditioning. They also were very accommodating.

Reopened summer 2018. New management. The front has been opened back up. Worth a trip if you'd like.

The food was phenomenal; the tenderloin was crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, and HUGE.

Cafe-Just be sure to heat it all the way thru when serving in store. Very very affordable. Lovely breakfast which hubs always orders. My fave, if no lasagna, is a patty melt. Also love their zucchini strips. Could make a meal of the zucchini or mushroom appetizers alone. Lovely small town heart food. Servers make you feel like family. Seriously, we watch for specials posted on FB daily- I just wish they posted them daily so I didn't have to call. To be honest, there is another local diner I like that I don't expect this from- but Kay has set me up as a fan of her lasagna! So she must post! lol.I'd probably come two times as much. A HUGE gem to all citizens of this tiny town and surrounding areas. We were THRILLED when this cafe was able to open back up for business. FYI- not the easiest for wheelchairs to navigate and bathrooms would be impossible. Otherwise, I'd bring my folks on the regular. Just a tiny building and they do what they can. If wheelchairs aren't a need, please go and check them out. You'll go back I promise!
