The Buttermilk Huckleberry ice cream in a waffle cone was easily one of the best ice cream treats we've ever had. When we entered the store, the young lady behind the counter was making fresh waffle cones and the whole store smelled wonderful. Like a bakery. I don't know how she did it, but somehow she got the ice cream all the way down into the bottom of the waffle cone. This is the first time in my life that I've actually had ice cream literally in every bite, all the way to the end. I was amazed. The waffle cone was the best. So fresh, crunchy, great taste. Best place for ice cream in Sandpoint! Fast and good customer service and the flavors are all amazing!

Visiting from out of town and stopped in for a couple cones. Place was uncomfortably warm inside and the ice cream literally dripped from the cone seconds after being handed to me. The employee even commented that the ice cream was melting fast. Still, the price of $3.75/each was collected. The ice cream did taste good, just wasn't frozen. I think some changes would have to take place for me to recommend this place. read more

Declines to enforce mask orders. Ice cream is good but not worth spreading disease. When we were there, a group of 10 or so unmasked customers came in. They took their time ordering and then stayed and ate inside, without masks. We asked the person working and were told that the store's owner told them not to enforce mask requirements. Too bad - it's as safe as an establishment not meeting food safety requirements. read more

There was a heat advisory warning the weekend I was visiting Sandpoint so it was blazing hot. What do you want when its 40+ degrees out?? Yeah exactly, you want to jump into the water in your birthday suit - what else do you want?? Cold cold ice cream. Panhandle Cone & Coffee is located in the heart of downtown Sandpoint and its super easy to find. There is a lot of street parking. My gf and I were walking the streets of Sand Point when we saw a few ice cream places. Panhandle caught my eye because their ice cream is handcrafted...and there was a sign that said "FREE SAMPLES". We entered this cute little joint and were greeted by the guys at the front, there was a little line up but the wait wasn't long. There is a sign of all the ice cream flavors & pricing and they all looked great. Huckleberry, Peppermint fudge, Sweet Cream, Salted Caramel & Brown Butter, Orange Dark Chocolate, Coffee, Strawberry, S'more, Sweet Basil & Pine Nut Praline, & Wild Flower Honey and Lavender were the flavors listed. On my first visit, I went with one scoop with two flavors - sweet cream and huckleberry in a cup. Alyssa went with huckleberry in a sugar cone. We were both super excited to try the huckleberry as it is the state fruit of Idaho and we saw it everywhere around Sandpoint and it was DELICIOUS!!!! There were pieces of huckleberry within the buttercream mix and it was so good. Huckleberries are similar to blueberries but to me, the huckleberry ice cream tasted like a mix of blueberries and grapy flavor, just amazing!! We both REALLY enjoyed it so we made sure we were to visit once again before we left. The sweet cream was good too but the huckleberry reigned supreme! On my second visit - I saw one of the guys making the waffle cone so I decided to go with a homemade waffle cone and a scoop of huckleberry! Again, amazingly delicious and it's the perfect treat for an extremely hot day. Panhandle Cone & Coffee offer handcrafted ice creams, as well as espressos and baked goods! There are a few seats outside if you wanted to enjoy the sun but its nice and cool inside! The scoopers are super friendly!! My boyfriend challenged me to take him somewhere he has never been, and I sneakily found out that PC&C opened within the last year and he had not visited yet. This place is a gem!. After a recent visit to Portland's FANTASTIC Salt and Straw ice cream shop, I didn't think this place could compare, but I was wrong. The ice cream is really good! Unique flavors, cozy place, super cute and friendly staff who look straight out of a Disney musical. Love that they let you order a split scoop ( 2 flavors to make up just one scoop) . The only teeny let down was the waffle cones weren't as fresh as Salt and Straws(but there they literally roll them right in front of you). Best part was when the guy told us all hush-hush and on the down low, as we were eating, that they have 'secret' adult flavors they don't advertise on the menu. He gave us a sample of 'something- something- bourbon' (cant remember exactly), and it was quite good. I will ask for it next time. Love this place! read more

When we walked in the store we were hit by the wonderful smell of fresh cookies being baked. The ice cream is all made on the property and very fresh with so many delicious flavors.
