What is not good to say about Panera! Great food for the price when in the road and need something better than fast-food. Parking lot out front with plenty of space. When I opened the door you immediately smell baked goods and are welcomed with a wall of breads, bage, cookies and baked goods. Pat seems to be my person everytime I stop in working the register and she is terrific! Always smiling, always patience even when there's a line. My mother and I were on our way out of town on vacation and our first stop was for breakfast. I placed my order through the Panera bread app for pick up thru the drive thru. We arrive and get in line in the drive thru. The line is not moving fast at all. We wait patiently. After thirty minutes in line we are still not to the window. My order had been ready for thirty plus minutes. I am not happy at this point. I leave the drive thru line and go inside. I explain the situation to the girl behind the counter. She calls for a manager. The manager comes from the back with an attitude. I explain that I have been waiting in line for over thirty minutes for my food. She tells me that she can't help it that she only has a couple employees and most of them are in training and they have 12 orders or more. She is not kind. She is rude. Basically making excuses. She never apologized. I told her that at this point I want fresh food because my food has been ready for over thirty minutes. She rolls her eyes and goes to the back and I can hear her ordering the employees to remake the food. They eventually bring the bag of food to me again with no apology. They never gave us the cups to get our drinks so I had to ask a young man that was not even on the clock to provide us with our cups. Although the soups were great, the sandwiches didn't have much protein in them at all, making them seem like a rip off. Do not waste your time with curbside at this location. They don't know how to do it. Update: trial #2 within two weeks did not end any better. I once again waited several minutes after my scheduled pickup time to walk in and find my warm food order sitting quietly on the takeout shelf. The receipt was, once again, clearly marked for curbside. I spoke to the manager who repeatedly said "I'm sorry" and gave me two cookies. I implored her to have a team meeting to discuss how the process works. Original review: Really frustrated to be sitting in the parking lot for over 10 minutes waiting for a curbside delivery that was clearly marked on the receipt. I must say, I take full advantage of the self-checkout kiosk. Not only do I take my time looking over all of my options, I completely change the composition of the meals (have you ever ordered sandwiches on their croissant before? Delicious!). All of the options are delicious, but I have had a mix of experiences in workers, where some have been mediocre. Most often they are friendly enough, but I think because I show up close to closing most of the time, they are in a "getting ready to close up shop" mentality. Still, the food is consistent and good enough for that quick meal (in my case where I can essentially make my pick two salad and sandwich to order) that you don't necessarily want to take the time to make yourself. read more

This was one of the worst franchise experiences. Talk about hitting the lower bar off the pole. So let's start. Walk into to an empty lobby. No one was there to greet us or near the counter for around four minutes. Looking around and see an employee just talking to family members. Then I assume a manager pops around a corner and says he will be right with us. Something might happen. Well he comes back and takes our order. The first item they don't have. Move on to a second choice and they have that but no tomato. (Bacon grilled cheese) so we order pick two items. Cheese broccoli soup and the bacon cheese sandwich and the other was Mac and cheese with bacon cheese sandwich. Paid grabbed a number and went to set down. Now our search for a clean table. There is literally no tables clean in a mostly empty store. How pathetic. So we chose the less of two evils and picked the cleanest table. So we wait. Couple people come into the store. We are waiting for our food. My wife is looking around and sees new guests getting food and her hunger alarm bells start going off. Two more couples get food and now a woman comes up and mentions they no longer have broccoli cheddar soup and would we like something else. My wife now upset says Mac and cheese and she really doesn't want that but we already paid. Also she asked I would like as an alternative and I reminded her I didn't order soup. So a short while later. We are brought food. The sandwich was placed on wheat bread and my least favorite for grilled cheese. It was a cold micro grilled cheese sandwich. I should have snapped a picture but I just wanted this to be over. On the sandwich I was not given an option of anything else when I ordered and yet I paid twenty three dollars. It was absent of service for walking in the door. The filthy dining area and a total lack of pride in services a customer would like. The girl mentioned she would give us a pastry but they was only two to choose from. Not happy at all. So I apologize for the vent versus yelp. This location disappointed me. I ordered the French onion soup and it's not as great as it use to be. The bowl was barely full and it took them a while to even get it to our table. The bread was ripped rather than cut. Panera use to be much better, now they give you tiny portions that are expensive. I attend the clyde park location regularly since it is close to where I work, so I get food on my break. I used to have no problems with the drive thru, but in my last 3 trips, one had no napkins or straw, the next had cold mac and cheese, and most recently they gave me the completely wrong sandwich. I basically paid $15 for a bag of chips. Not to mention they are closed Saturdays, which makes no financial sense. Overall they have good food, but it is pricy and they really need to fix some drive thru problems. read more

We find Panera's to be reliably good tho can get slow during peak times. We were at this location mid-morning & just ordered a couple espresso drinks & cinn roll. They didn't have many customers & it still took way too long for the coffees. There were flies on the pastry which was shrugged off by the employee when I mentioned it. Also pointed out very dirty/unsightly coffee serving area, and the manager apologized & immediately fixed it. This is a good location for this place but management needs to pay more attention to service & conditions. read more

Probably the best service that I have received at a Panera. We stopped in right before it closed (unknowingly) on September 14th and ordered for dine in. The staff kept extra iced tea in the dispenser in case we wanted more even though they were cleaning up to close for the night. Both the staff and manager were very welcoming and we didn't feel harried or rushed out. Very courteous and friendly staff. Very small sandwiches ,(very little meat), for what you pay for and they don't taste all that great either. You can make a better sandwich at home or goto Subway, get a footlong with as many toppings as you want and pay less. However, they're soups are pretty good especially in the bread bowl. read more
