Aside from the fact that kids who never worked in the food service industry is all they can find to hire, the food itself is unimaginative, expensive and low quality. Save yourself time and money and go to WaWa for higher quality and better prices. For cookies, drinks and bread, I'd give it 3 stars. For sandwiches, soups and salads, I'd give it no stars, I wrote this place off many year ago - because it is just terrible, but I was given a gift card and decided to get what I imagined would be an average salad and sandwich. When I unwrapped the sandwich, the bread was drenched in grease/oil. They actually baked the lettuce in the oven with the sandwich - that's idiotic... goodbye crunchy lettuce, hello soggy green slop. It was uneatable. I don't blame the kid who made my food. I blame the cooperate office for poor training. If some kid who can't make toast applies for a job and you hire him/her... then train them on how to assemble sandwiches and heat up soup. All I will say is thank god I didn't use my own money. The Time management is terrible. You might just walk in --it is faster than pre-order. Tuesday morning, 11/14/2023. People waiting in line all the way to the door, and mixed with dining in, and pre-ordered for pick up. No one would have thought of to form a pick-up customers' line, everyone is in one line. So walk-in customer could get their food faster than you ordered at 6am. The manager is extremely rude, I told him I am here for pick up and already got text message confirmed that my order is ready. He said: you will have to wait--wait for him to sliced 13 bagels to a walk-in customer and let him have his food first. I would like to talk the manager about how they should manage more efficiently. The pager I got didn't work so when my food was ready I didn't know. So it was left out for sometime until I went up and asked about my food, they told me it was made already but thrown out cause it was out for awhile. They remade my food quickly and it was fine. Most staff wore NO MASKS and they were so loud when I went to pick up food. They were laughing, talking and talking all over the food which each of their germs contaminated the food supplies. Way too much communication activity going on in the sandwich department. Disgusting!! But she ended up hanging up on me before she came back. The order takes forever to get completed. A half dozen people milling around the pickup area, rendering any pretense at social distancing a farce. I have been coming to this location for years, and it has continued to go down hill. Last visit I experienced the worst service I have anywhere in awhile. I am in the hospitality industry and love to engage with service workers. The workers here were all on their phones, joking loudly and inappropriately with one another, and not paying attention to making orders or speaking to guests. They didn't tell us until after we ordered and paid that they were out of the soup and cookies we had ordered. They were also out of the other soups I was interested in, so I got a Pick 2 with Mac and cheese...and a Mac and cheese bread bowl. Between the two of us, we received 4 forks for some reason. Only one of them was clean. The food was also cold by the time we received it. There is a guarantee posted that If our order is wrong, we get a free "treat" for the trouble. This did not occur. Usually I love Panera. Good food. This is the closest one to my house. The service is always horrible. You wait at a minimum of 15 minutes for your food. Regardless of the size of your order. Don't even bother stopping during peak breakfast/lunch/dinner-You'll easily wait 30 minutes. If you order curbside, be prepared to wait-no matter how far in advance you order (if they even bring it out to you at all). Staff is rude and the entire store is unorganized. This Panera Bread is in a strip mall at the southeast corner of Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road. The parking lot actually seemed a bit inadequate for the Saturday morning crowd. It is also oddly steep for the area, although that's only an issue if your vehicle is prone to brake failure. Inside, the cashiers work slowly and one of them seemed to disappear for long periods of time, even though there was a line. Once I got past that, I thought the rest of the restaurant was okay. Food preparation was reasonably efficient and the ambiance was okay. They just have to do something about the cashier line. read more
