This is a very normal and clean Panera Bread location. They are usually fast, friendly, and I've never had them mess up an order!

As happens often at Panera, slow service and low expectations. However kudos for crisp croutons and a "sorry" when trading dirty spoon for a clean one. They were out of BREAD and surprisingly didn't have bread alternatives. Trash was filthy and overflowing. Employees on break hanging out back. Soup was good though! read more

Will not be returning to this "Restaurant(?)." 1) Ordered Chipolte Chicken Avacado Melt. Sandwich came without avacados. Staff person was called over. Her response was, "Sorry about that." Did not offer to bring avacados or to remake the sandwich!!! The person taking the order did not ask if we wanted the "Pick Two," which would have included a salad. We didn't know this, so we didn't ask the "Pick Two." 2) Ordered Clam Chowder; however, it was later determined that clam chowder was not available, so I changed my order to broccoli cheddar bread bowl. MISTAKE. Bread bowl was a mess of "mushy wet bread." 3) Ordered Cesar Salad. It turned out to be a half bowl of lettuce, garnished with lots of croutons, but an extremely small amount of salad dressing. 4) Overall this was a very poor experience and over priced as well. read more

I honestly forget this Panera Bread is here and I live no more than 3 minutes away from it. It's in such a weird location with hardly any parking. Instead you have to park in the large Walmart parking lot and walk over to the Panera. They'd do better with stand alone location with a drive-thru. The inside looks a little run down but the food tastes great. read more

I'm generally happy with this Panera, but I just had an online order where I added tomato confit to my sandwich rather than fresh tomatoes, it charged me a dollar to add and my sandwich had no tomato confit. read more

It's ridiculous to get your order here, placed an order before noon to be picked up at 3;45pm. Then get here and am told there are several orders in front of mine. The person I've talked to is being rude and has even flipped me off. read more

Came to meet with some fellow businessmen for dinner and conversation. The staff were kind and the restaurant was as clean as you'd expect from Panera. There were few plugins for laptops, but I did find one. The wifi was strong, food was good and experience pretty strong. read more

Panera does not take care of customer concerns. Was getting a cinnamon roll at the Alderwood Wash cafe when I found a complete cigarette cooked inside the roll. I will not eat at Panera again. Corporate did nothing but give me gift card. Thanks a lot. :( read more

Basically a good place to eat. However, never stop near the end of the day. Also have had problems with the soup products, while ordering soup to go I watched as the staff attempted to scrape every last flake of the soup stored in the warming bin/holder into my 20 dollar to go container. Took the soup to a friends house and 1 bowl was enjoyable. 20 dollars for this? Additionally, the accompanying bread was doughy and under cooked. read more

Good bfast sandwiches, never tried lunch here. LOVE the coffee here, seems they always get it just right and its always fresh.

Staff snobbery is unexpected in any service establishment. They seemed to expect me to have an inherently encyclopaedic knowledge of the menu. There are apparently no ways to dress up a hot chocolate that don't include coffee. Hot, chocolate which has all the flavour profile of a packet of Swiss Miss in water. The sausage egg and cheese left a lot to be desired as well. It was clearly assembled from previous cooked egg and patty, the patty unseasoned and bland, the cheese was less than complimentary. No stir sticks near the fountain beverage area. The salad was clearly made for a giant, as one would need the mouth of The Joker to fit the pieces of lettuce in. read more

We always enjoy Panera in KS & in CA. So when I wanted an early lunch on Sunday, we headed to this favorite spot. My husband had the half tuna sandwich with a cup of broccoli cheese soup. It was very good, as always. I had spinach & bacon souffle, which was available from the bakery & came wrapped in a croissant type crust. Nice light meal. Staff were efficient & friendly, although this location does not have the comfortable atmosphere of many. Be sure to sample the muffin tops in the bakery. To die for. read more

Shittiest Panera I've ever ate at. Ordered an Asian chicken salad to go and it had none of the vegetables except for lettuce, the sauce was different, and there were no peanuts. It was pretty much lettuce and Asian noodles. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the money. read more

Panera was always one of my favorite restaurants. As a frequent customer I found myself enjoying the food and service. However today was my worst visit ever and I doubt I would walk into this restaurant again. I visited this Topeka Panera with my two years old daughter as a special day out. I am an Asian American but a native English speaker. The receptionist was very rude. There was no greeting upon arrival, and no appropriate politeness through the ordering. The receptionist kept showing that she could not understand me but going "huh?" which never happened before when I placed my order at this Panera. Also the restaurant was packed and we could not find a table. We stood and waited in the dining area for a long period of time. When the food was ready I talked to food preparation people that we had no place to sit. There was little or no help provided. By the end, after waiting another seven eight minutes we had to take our food back to home. I understand the place could be very busy during lunch time but I hope there can be more "service," especially when a mom with her hands full of drinks, purses, napkins and followed by a little girl was standing in the middle of dining area waiting. And the staff needs more interpersonal skills, they are not working at a drive through. read more

I've been to Panera before, and knew that their prices are a bit higher, but that was usually because their food was somewhat worth it. That's not the case for the Topeka location. I feel like I was taken for a fool when I paid $10 for a sandwich which basically tasted like mustard and dried up meat, on toast. Also, the dining room was filthy, with torn and faded seats. But I guess it all goes together, food and decor. Don't waste your money. Go to a grocery store and spend your money better than I did. read more

I was there for lunch and I had to wait in line for about 10 min just to put my order in then I had to wait another 10 min to get my food. When I was trying to find a table to sit I saw whole bunch of tables were dirty and people were sitting right on top of them. No employees were cleaning the tables. This Panera is the worst one I have ever visited. Yikes, it was BAD!! First, they had one person taking orders, and there was an issue with the person in front of me, so two staff chatted with this person while I waited and waited and waited for anyone to take my order. The restaurant was filthy. The floors were filthy with food and debris, and the tables were not cleared or cleaned from previous customers. The coffee bar was gross, not clean!!! YUK! Then the pastries we ordered were dry, not fresh at all. Also, the fruit cup was so weird. The fruit was cut into teenie tiny miniscule pieces. Soooo strange, like nothing I have been served before. Last straw, no toilet paper in the bathroom!! Geesh, terrible. Corporate needs to shop this store and the Shawnee County Health Dept needs to visit as well. AVOID!!! read more

This Panera location is a joke. The parking is horrible and they never enforce the rapid pick up parking which is always full and taken by people eating IN THE RESTAURANT. I think they should take the parking signs down because apparently no one ever reads them. I work for a local school district and we order from there a lot and like the convenience of not having to stand in line to get our RAPID PICK UP order. I am not the only person who has noticed this. This location should just get rid of that option because it's a cruel joke. read more
