This is a great location! They just sold the restaurant chain a few days ago and so far no major changes, except for they are not selling alcohol at the moment. That's fine because we were on a road trip. The service here was quick and efficient, and the food was good. Just how I remember. I think all spangles are created equal. I've been to a few and i get the same meal and they neither memorable or forgettable. they get the job done. this time around the portion of french fries have been reduced in size (thanks, Obama). but still it's food (just not fast) I do like their 1950's interior. makes me wonder what a throwback restaurant in 2090 will look like when they have everything decked out in 2024 decor. mostly tiktok videos playing everywhere? read more

Why do people eat here? Nothing moved me here. Not the burger. The toppings were fresh...but fresh toppings on a burger of sadness means absolutely nothing. The fries were over salted. The chicken strips were bland but fried well. Even the cheesecake bites in my ice cream were rubbery and lacked taste. Overall my tongue feels as though a sweaty bum rubbed his armpits in my mouth. A margarita with my steak burger, in a nostalgic style diner! Yes please! So great to be back in Kansas and enjoying all the food, the middle of the country has to offer! I had to do some business, in Topeka, KS, so I thought I'd pop in somewhere, to grab a good cheeseburger! I chose wisely, to find Spangles Diner! It's this super beautiful and nostalgic style diner, that serve some seriously delicious burgers!!! I chose a sourdough bacon steak patty cheeseburger + the BIGGEST onion rings, on the planet! (The only time you'll ever see me eat onions! #dontjudgeme lol) Now I know why their drive-thru was so busy! Everything was delicious, especially complimented with a large margarita! I normally have a great experience at Spangles, but.... Yesterday my wife and I went to the one on Wanamaker in Topeka and ordered ice cream. I ordered a cherry mudslide, which are really good by the way. They took about ten minutes to get our order to us and had us pull forward. When they brought our order out, mine was wrong- no chocolate, just cherry - which was still very good. I dug in to see if it was in the middle and nope. I backed up to the drive in window since they weren't busy and told them the mistake. All very pleasant so far. I took a spoonful to show the assistant manager there was no chocolate and he told me he made what was on the order. I explained that it still wasn't what I ordered, and he again told me he had made what was on the order. Why wife then asked, we'll can you fix it? The assistant manager then said rudely "you're eating it,"which is true- I did eat the bite I took out to show him. Clearly he was not going to fix it. My wife asked me, in front of him, to talk to the manager. I said he was the assistant manager and apparently wasn't going to fix it and drove away. It was like the twilight zone. The assistant manager needs a clue. read more

The food is awesome and usually the service is as well. However, the guy working the drive thru (very large with a bad dye job and scruffy beard) was very rude! He mocked my Southern accent when I ordered at the speaker and when I pulled up to the window. Speedy and friendly service. Food is very good, especially the gyros which surprised me. All that and a good value.

Passing thru and saw something new so I decided to stop. I walk in and up to the counter and neither of the 3 employees even acknowledge my presence. I stood there for 2 minutes exactly. (There's a nostalgic Pepsi clock on the wall above the drive thru window with a second hand on it.) This place was EMPTY except for one car in the drive thru ( now I see why) and one employee even walked past the counter, out into the lobby to restock the ketchup. The silver lining in this you ask? 1. I didn't spend a dime. 2. I don't think they were treating me special. I think anyone who would've walked would've been treated the same way. Gotta go! This is our favorite Spangles. The management and service is always great and the restaurant is always clean. We love the scrambled egg bowls with cheese mixed in and get these often. Nice Oldies music always puts us in a good mood. Pleasant manager and other staff. We'll be back soon. read more

Food was great, every restaurant should have fries like Spangles, and the mudslide was a great way to finish. Everything was clean, atmosphere was fun, and the staff was pleasant.
