I'm a bus driver. When I bring a bus full of people into an establishment, they always give me mine for free because I just made them $200 - $300 sometimes more. Not Panera Bread. When I asked them they said no. I brought it 20 people the bill was over $200+ but they wouldn't comp the person who bought them this much business a $10 bowl of Mac and cheese. I had a good experience. This Panera looks so much different than the ones in New York. I ordered the Turkey chili and and my daughter had the cheese sandwich because she loves how soft the bread is. The service was decent. The lady at the counter seemed pretty nice. It was clean and when they had downtime they made sure to come out to collect the dishes from the trash area. The staff were friendly, but frazzled. The eating area was clean. But, as far as the menu is concerned, it's gotten so much worse now than the last time they dropped menu items. Our last 2 visits were unsatisfactory, but not because of the staff. There are no longer blueberry or chocolate chip bagels (among others), no spinach add ons, no spinach souffle, and nothing but chicken for meat - no steak sandwich, no ham.. and there's no mayo?? The turkey chili and squash soups are gone... and the list goes on and on... My usual is the Fuji Apple Salad, but they've even switched up the cheese in that. Def not as good. There's nothing left but mac and cheese, and even that is now $7 for the side size. My favorite coffee items are gone; No mochas, vanilla lattes or cold brew. Sip club is now a joke since there aren't the options they had before. It's obvious their corporate is doing something nefarious in order to make their bottom line look better, because their menu is lacking, there's no fresh bread anymore (it's all frozen now), and they've slashed their menu while calling it "enhanced". Since everything we usually get is now off the menu or changed beyond recognition, there's no reason for our family to go here anymore. Not impressed with the drop in quality of menu items. The quality of the salad does not exceed what can be found in a gas station like Kwik Trip or Caseys. It may be fresh but poorly assembled. Ordered the Strawberry Poppyseed with Chicken Salad and received in layers starting from the bottom: mostly romaine stems, walnuts, mandarin orange slices, strawberry slices, some deli chicken slice-chunks. There were 2 mini-cups of poppyseed dressing. The walnuts were on one side, the chicken on another, same with the strawberries and mandarin oranges, as if a machine dumped it all together. Which is exactly my point. The extra I'm paying to have a human assemble the salad is also the little extra effort one expects in presentation and even distribution of toppings, otherwise the gas station is more convenient. read more

One of the worst Panera's I have been to. Service is horrible. The wait times are extraordinarily long whether you go in or go through the drive thru. 35 min for a salad is ridiculous. Of course they can't tell you courteously they're backed up and you're going to wait. They take your money and you're stuck. I feel bad for the lady after me who just ordered and had to wait for a toasted bagel! Wait times of 40 min according to the monitor screen I saw and almost nobody had food. Drive thru is equally bad. They usually have one person that I can see back there who has no help. But even so I wait staring at the window for 7 min before anyone came over. Behind me 7 more cars came in. If I waited 7 minutes that means the last vehicle (I counted them when I left) had to wait possibly 49 minutes for drive thru food! Wow this is looking like Soviet Panera! Are their staff trained to be rude? No apology, no sorry about the wait. I sit there forever and they are oblivious. They don't even want to make eye contact and give you a sign that they are aware you're waiting but too busy to come right now. I felt bad for the poor girl who had no help but a little common apology would suffice. But I am used to this at other Paneras. They mess up your order. No apology, no sorry about the wait. Sometimes they say nothing at all. Heads are stuck up you know where. Sorry to those who work at a Panera and actually still have human empathy and you give two s****s about your job. Do yourself a favor and get out while you can! This is not for you. 7 minutes let alone 20 or 30 or 49 is too long to wait. Your sandwiches aren't worth it. They're already not worth the hefty $11 price tag. Are you aware of what the rest of the world charges for food? Yeah, Panera is in its own bubble. I get it. You're "special". My coffee is always lukewarm from sitting in the thermos for hours. Your sandwiches are small and tiny. My recommendation is to skip this Panera. Skip all Panera's. So disappointed in last night's visit. My beloved and I went out for a date. The food took a while to arrive. We wanted a seat near the fireplace. Unfortunately, a table near the fireplace was littered with dishes and leftover food. We found another place to sit. Can you believe that for the next 1.5 hours, that table sat there without anyone touching/cleaning it? When we eventually left, it still sat there un-cleaned. I was excited to stop in to Panera after their renovations. It was disappointing to see the changes. Instead of booths and low tables the space now has mostly high top tables. The few low tables only seat two. There is a large counter community table but it is a high top again. The place has a more open feel and sight lines are clear through the room. Panera used to have a warm cozy feel inviting you to stay and read or work but that feeling is gone with the updates. There are more self order checkouts and a note on each table encouraging you to order from the ap. I have the feeling they are trying to be more of a fast food place and get people out fast. This truly is the worst Panera location I've ever seen. The place is often unacceptably dirty (the floors, tables, and dish collection areas); the staff is not attentive; and the food is often poorly presented. My family orders delivery from this location to get something semi-healthy in our routine, but our food rarely comes as ordered. They forget entire entrees or salads, or miss customizations (i.e. no feta cheese for our vegan family member). I love Panera overall, but this location is a terrible location. read more

Driving through St. Cloud this morning we decided to stop by for breakfast. The service was excellent! Chandler answered all of our questions and helped us with selections. Love the rewards program first of all. You get a free bagel every day in June. Not sure if that's because it's my birthday month or if it's separate but either way it's cool. Got the chicken avocado melt and soup for the duo special they have. The sandwich was full of chicken which was good since the one I had at the other location was lacking ingredients majorly. My biggest gripe about the sandwich was how greasy and lump it was. There was way too much grease and it was hard to eat because of how greasy it was. Makes me wonder and concerned about the posted calories for the sandwich. I watch my intake closely. The chicken noodle soup was good and hearty. I'd recommend this soup with any sandwich for sure. The service today was unsatisfactory. I waited for my order for more than 20 minutes, and there were people ahead of me who waited longer. The restaurant was not crowded, but I suspect the drive-through kept the kitchen busy. The restaurant appeared very understaffed during the lunch period. The food was acceptable, but not great. I had a salad, half a sandwich, and no beverage, left a $2 tip and it cost me over $16.00. That seems excessive (I am glad I had just water and no fountain drink which likely would have added another $2). My order specifically asked for extra mayo, but they forgot that, and though they eventually gave me some, that extended the wait time a couple of minutes, and they gave me no utensil to put the mayo on my sandwich. There are so many other good choices to dine that I don't expect to return here anytime soon. I have been to this Panera location several times over the past few years, and I still don't understand what the hype is all about. I love the concept of Panera, and how their food is healthy/fresh, but it isn't the best place to eat. Most recently, I had the steak and Cheddar Panini and it was not good. I could've made a better sandwich at home myself. At 1060 calories, it definitely was not worth it. The bread was tough and the sandwich was flavorless. The white cheddar was cut way too thick, and did not go well with the steak. The steak was the only good part about it, but I have had more flavorful steak elsewhere. The steak tasted fine, but was cold. The cheese was also not melted and cold, so it all seemed off because usually, I like both my cheese and steak nice and toasty. I was lucky I had the chips on the side because to be honest, those tasted better than the sandwich itself. My entire meal altogether was dry and nothing about it impressed me. I will stick to making my own lunches instead of coming to Panera for this kind of a sandwich. I am giving Panera three stars because awhile back, I had soup paired with a panini and those both tasted great. When we got them I looked at her bowl and it looked like a LOT less soup then I getvin any other Panana. As my granddaughter walked over to the table I comm that I thought her portion was short. I called my granddaughter back to the counter and handed the 2 women behind the counter the bowl. The first one looked at it and said, no, that's the right amount. I told her I didn't think so and she barked, NO, IT'S THE 3 SCOOPS THE A BOWL GETS. The other woman actually POURED THE SOUP FROM A BOWL NOW HANDLED BY 4 PEOPLE AFTER IT WAS SERVED BACK INTO THE POT!!!!!!!!!! She then scooped 3 scoops back into the SAME BOWL and slid it over to me. They are now serving chicken soup that, according to health code, is contaminated!!!! When I asked to speak to the manager, Lisa came over with an attitude to start. I explained what happened and she flat out denied the soup was poured into the pit. When I pointed out that I SAW her do it, she admitted she didn't actually see what she falsely claimed. When I told her that I'm going to file a complaint with the health department, she "offered" to pour out the pot "if it made me feel better.'' It's Panera; I get it. I'm not expecting superior service or gourmet food. I just want a semi-healthy meal and maybe an acknowledgement when I walk in to pick up my order. The past few times I've been in, the staff seem more interested in socializing with each other. Customers are clearly a distraction. Tonight I got my order home and half of it was missing. The kicker is that there is a location on the pick up receipt where they are supposed to check order for accuracy. In the end, I guess it's my fault for not noticing that they didn't check my order (sarcasm). I tried to call and rectify with a manager but no one answered the phone. The complimentary WiFi is great, along with the sweets - - and it's a big plus for me to not end up smelling like roasted coffee (that's what happens when I interview at coffee shops.) Since I've been here several times now, the thing to note... that's kinda funny. is in the mornings this place is absolutely PACKED with Senior Citizens. For real... they all must congregate here. Like Rachel W said, there is a drive-thru here. I've seen that at a few other locations. But make sure you sign up for their Panera card. I went to this location with my mom and as all other Panera's the crowds were nonstop over the lunch hour. The big draw here though is their drive-thru lane and service window. I happened to have a good view of it from the table we were seated at and every time I took a glance another car was pulling up to order. This was the first time I'd ever seen a drive-thru at a Panera but what a great idea. The only problem I see is that it could get a little addicting. If you've been to any Panera you know that the menu is full of healthy and hearty soups, sandwiches, and salads. I highly recommend the Thai wonton broth bowl paired with a salad (I get the barbecue chicken salad). Don't forget the bakery on your way out, especially during the Christmas season. Each year I buy a loaf of whatever is sweetest for my family to have on Christmas Eve. They love it. Staff here are friendly and wait time isn't long. The one problem I have with this location is that it's always dirty. Often there are few tables that have been cleaned, the beverage station needs wiping, and the floors are filthy. Most of the other locations I visit are reasonably clean, so this isn't a good look for St. Cloud. read more
