Ordered in drive through. The girl at the window was friendly, everyone in the kitchen was working but seemed to be happy to be there. I've gone 3 times to this location in the past week and a half for the Ciabatta French Dipper. First two times the sandwich was perfect. Third visit, received less of a sandwich than the other two times and when I went in to talk to the manager about it she came back after a few minutes with two pieces of freshly cut ciabatta bread and went over to the bread case and pulled an uncut loaf and tried to tell me the half should only be the size of a square. Hardly any meat too. $10 for what exactly?! This happened during summer as well when I ordered a Napa chicken sandwich. Hardly any meat on the sandwich. Overpriced for what you're given. I work right down the street from this Panera location and I would say that I'm often stopping here. At first, I didn't think there was an issue but as time goes on, I realize that the staff that works here (maybe not all of them), the ones that work the drive-thru are rude and give service in a dismissive way. I can feel their unhappiness when ordering, and it seems like they're so irritated with working, with taking someone's order, especially if it's customized. By the time to reach the window, they're shoving my order at me so fast to get me out and avoid me as a customer. Here are some prime examples: 1. I commonly order the Mediterranean grain bowl (w/chicken) and request that no Greek yogurt, no hummus, and no feta cheese be added. I usually ask for extra chicken which is often a disappointment because I feel like I'm charged for extra chicken but I'm not actually getting extra chicken. Take yesterday (9/22) as a solid example, I ran through the drive-thru as I was leaving work to grab dinner and ordered this very item. The woman working the drive-thru was so short spoken, so dismissive, and all around unpleasant. She was not friendly at all from the time I pulled up to the time she shoved my order at me. 2. I also commonly order the Strawberry Banana smoothie (w/whip cream added), and this is a more frequent issue I encounter. Every time I've ordered this smoothie, this particular location claims to never have any bananas, so it's always out. Yet, other Panera locations never have a problem making this smoothie upon order? I strongly believe the staff purposely avoids making it and tells customers that there's no bananas so they don't think anything if it and sub their order for something else. 3. This Rancho location has a habit for forgetting ordered ordered items or not actively listening to orders that by the time you reach the window, there's always something missing or wrong with your order. By this point, having death with rude/dismissive staff and shoving my order to get me out quickly creates disinterest in wanting to speak to the manager to form a complaint. I'm not someone to truly complain about something unless it really bothers me, and lately the attitude of the staff at this location is the worst of any location I've been to. I am a frequent customer of Panera (w/ rewards) but I will stop going to this location just because of the negative experience I tend to always get. I'm sure other customers have the same or similar experiences but it's disappointing. I understand working retail (and in food) can be challenging at times but if staff is unhappy and treating customers poorly while providing service, they shouldn't be in that field of work. This is especially for those that don't take their job seriously when so many people are affected by Covid and have lost their jobs/income. There's always someone that would be happy to take someone else's place. I hope management sees this review and takes a look at their staff in terms of what they do vs the service they give, and I hope there's improvement made. My cinnamon raisin bagel was a tad over toasted. It was Sunday morning, 9.30am not so busy yet... luckily the mocha was done right. Smooth. I was hoping the make and sell soup for breakfast as I was craving for that chicken and wild rice. This time when I went, the grains were so hard it was like uncooked hard rice, and they put whole tomatoes on there, which I've never had them do before, they have always been cut up . When I order in the store, I'm almost always pleased. But the drive-through always takes far too long! The food always good. My favorite is the super-flavorful chipotle chicken avocado melt and a cup of the seasonal butternut squash soup. Comfort food at its best! My kids are grilled cheese connoisseurs, and proclaimed their grilled cheese, the best EVER!" I ordered Rapid pick-up online, before check out it said 10 minutes then at check out it changed to 30 minutes. The ordering was very easy step by step for the pick two menu. I came here at 12:30pm and the line is out the drive thru drive way to the parking lot. Glad I did online pick up and not come in to order. My order stated to be ready at 12:48pm and sure enough it wasn't ready earlier, wishful thinking. The tickets on the bags are very easy to read with names on top of the receipt very big and bold in little cubbies. At 12:38 I saw my name on the preparing side of the screen. This place is way too expensive for terrible service that they offer. They won't actually prepare your hot coffee for you, even if you ordered ahead and even if you ask. Instead, you get an empty cup chucked into rapid pickup and are told to make it yourself. If you want one of the ingredients they don't have upfront, you have to stand in line to ask them to get it for you. What?? What was the point of ordering ahead?? The employees pretend to care, but won't actually do anything to try and improve your experience; this includes the manager I spoke to. They're frequently out of ingredients to make menu items as they advertise them, but hey, they'll still charge you full price, or even up charge you for replacement items. Out of the white cheddar for the white cheddar sandwich? You can have American...for another 50 cents. Or you can just not have the cheese, but you don't get a discount. The last several salads I ordered tasted like they were halfway to spoiled. The eggs smelled and tasted funny, the lettuce was wilting and starting to change color, the croutons were stale. Like what the hell kind of restaurant is this? They actually charge double digits for this stuff! Disgusting. I wrote to Panera Bread with my concerns, and got a canned response. They don't care. Husband and I have faithful regulars at this location and other cities when not around in Rancho Cordova location, since they opened Panera. we have order the get two several times and we had it!! Enough is enough!! They are becoming very stingy with food, charging full price for what you order. Half sandwich is not made properly with right amount of ingredients, that iis not that big a child can probably get full with this, not an adult,. As far soup goes, rather you get the cup or bowl size is not even Full. Today I just order full bowl soup of wild rice and husband get2 meal. I had to go to the front and spoke with assistant Manager and she said very rudely that's the right amount it's supposed to be served and explained how many spoons base on what its ordered. So I told her wow $9.19 +tax for a bowl of soup? She did not said anything else but I told her lesson learned never again. So they just lost our business just like chipotle Which we had same bad experience. Where do I start? First at the counter, an employee is not in uniform, but in regular street clothes, cut in front of the girl, taking orders to place an order for his friend. After he was done, the counter girl then took our order, but seemed annoyed and what looked like her Mom who was also an employee was waiting an staring at us and made us feel uncomfortable ( later we realized why, as they both left to go pick up wingstop and then returned). As we were waiting for our food, we had to endure conversations from the staff preparing our food about bodily functions, and one girl say "she just farted." The extreme horse play was so unprofessional, and my food came out cold, we ordered soup and broccoli Mac n cheese. While the food is good, the services need a lot of improvement. They were out of hot water, my husband said the coffee tastes like rat dip and must have been sitting for hours. He changed his beverage to soda. I went in the bathroom and they were out of toilet paper in the first stall. And I only saw one girl outside doing all the work, cashiering, replacing or refilling lemonade bins, and she was sweeping the floor, too. At the time, the place was more than half empty, maybe 4 clients at the most, around 7 pm. I wonder where everybody was. I told my husband that maybe they were back in the kitchen preparing food. My husband, with his wicked sense of humor, said, "preparing food for nobody!" And I had seen notification that Panera was hiring. This location is such a nice place to hang out. This particular Panera is huge inside and I like to come here and work with my laptop. Free wi-fi with a good signal. I also like the pretty fireplace in the middle of the restaurant. The food is always good and the staff here are very friendly and helpful. My family and I come here if we want to have something "light". My choice has always preferred the sandwich and soup options, what they call "Pick Two". I always find these filling and very tasty...with a price that is not way over the top. Whatever sandwich I get, I always have my soup set to either the chicken noodle soup, or the tomato soup. As far as the sandwiches go, my preference has either been the "Italian", the "Cuban" or the "Steak and Cheddar". If you're new to the place, it might take a while to get your bearings on where to get started with your order. The order counter feels like it's hidden away, depending on which door you choose to enter. And it has always been like that for me irregardless of the Panera location I go to. Internal GPS issues... Love the place. You should give it a try... read more

I do not recommend this location. And will not go back. The girl in the drive-through was very rude , didn't get her name since she did not have name tag in her. She had tattoos on her arms and had very long nails, not really appropriate for this job. Never got this kind of experience at any of the Panera cafes. Was not asked for a reward card when placing order and when I told the girl at the window that I want to use my phone E number she said it's too late since she already ran the card. I think she should've asked if we had rewards card in the first place. We ordered soups and salads and got only knives. They need to pay attention what they are putting in the bag. I go to this location because I work in Rancho Cordova and there are a lot of eateries here.
