The grilled cheese sandwich was repulsive-bread was chewy and the half melted cheese was still chilly. The soup was satisfactory-the bread was not. The service was pre functionary. I almost always get the half sandwich and soup at any Panera. This seems to be a staple of mine and probably the best deal on the menu. Going with the whole sandwiches always makes me feel pretty light in the wallet after a meal. This place is usually pretty busy, I like to go after peak hours 1 PM and 7 PM are the only times I would go but even at standard hours they are pretty good at getting things done quick. The french onion soup is really the only one that I like from their menu. This however tastes a little bitter and salty, most likely the result of reduction keeping it hot all day. The tuna salad is very good, the Italian club is pretty good too but has made me sick once, which I feel like is a deal breaker. read more

Today I experienced the worst service at the Pittsfield Panera. When I entered the building at 9:55 there weren't any registers open in fact the registers were not even banked yet at the manager on duty decided to do that at 10am. There were however the kiosk available for me to place my own order. I struggled a little while with it and became frustrated as it in my opinion is not the most user friendly system. Finally an associate surfaced with the MOD and took my order. Myleah was the employee and she had the personality of a wet sock. Never once did she make eye contact. The order completed at 10:03 and I proceeded to wait another 10 minutes for the order to be completed. Evidently they were out of one of the bagels I ordered so I guess they were just going to wait and see if I would notice one was missing. When I did notice the response given was oh we don't have anymore everything bagels. Was someone going to tell me this or was I supposed to guess ? Meanwhile the line is out the door with still only one associate taking orders. The manager was available but did not attempt to keep the lines down or do anything other than stand there like a deer in headlights. The tables were dirty and I needed to wipe them down myself, it was a holiday weekend and there wasn't the proper amount of staffing not to mention they were out of Pepsi and 2 different types of bagels. This location is very Poorly run and the associates have no people skills to speak of. Believe me I can get a 10.00 bagel somewhere else. I don't need to go to Panera to be ignored and price gouged. read more

Wow! I'm still in shock!! What happened to this place?!! I have only been back twice since I have been back in town but the first time I went I noticed something drastically different and thought to myself "boy they must have changed management?!" It just wasn't clean, the dishes were stacked up all over the place, there was only one woman that I could tell working, the tables were dirty...I just can't believe this is the same place that I used to come to and loved! I am also shocked by the prices! Its total absurdity that they charge $7 for a half of a sandwich that doesn't even have any meat on it and $4.29 for a cup of soup that is half full! This was the third time I've eaten Panera, and the first at a sit-down. I enjoyed the creamy tomato soup, 1/2 greek salad and looking on at others' food. Friendly servers came out and offered us a full menu when we walked up to read the fixings. I love this place. It's a great healthy alternative to the surrounding fast food empires. The staff is very friendly and willing to go the extra mile and in my case the mile being- looking up the exact grams of fat in my salad dressing. The baked goods are always fresh and delicious. I was even informed the other day that all leftover food from the day is donated at the end of each day to the less fortunate. I highly recommend this place. read more

Now I remember why I have not been there in a couple of years..it sucks! The service, the food, everything! I asked for an egg white breakfast sandwich, I get a runny egg on my sandwich. I bring it back, they remake it. Now I get a bagel not toasted, cheese not melted, and no chipotle aioli as I asked for. I asked for my money back at this point. I love the food, but I feel it is kind of pricey for what you're getting. Also, when my boyfriend and I order either sit-in or even to-go, they never have most of the items we want to order. There was one time, we waited the entire time we "thought" they were making our order, but after 10-15 minutes they decided to tell us they ran out of the item we wanted. Worst Panera I have ever been to, lack of space for people waiting for orders. The lady who was putting the rapid pick up orders was rude.
