Love that there's a Panera closer to me, and love that it has a drive-thru! So convenient, especially when picking up breakfast for the office. Has all of the typical Panera food, and is the same quality I've had at other Panera's. Breads are always freshly baked, and never, ever skip getting a chocolate chip cookie with your meal. They are delicious! Love the inside, lots of tables and corners for private conversations or some quiet solitude. This is a new location so I think they are still working on efficiency with the drive-thru. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, even for simpler orders. read more

I honestly have had to go back for my order to be redone, more than I haven't. And one time my smoothie was completely melted and I explained to the manager that I sent my order for a specific time for a reason. My email said it was done 25 minutes early. The manager made a bunch of excuses instead of just owning up to it and fixing it. She then proceeded to get heated and put her hand so close to my face and was acting so ghetto. Ew. Weirdo. Instead of getting heated, maybe just don't make my order 20 minutes before the time I ordered it for. Do NOT put your hand in my face. read more

With so many better options around, why are you wasting your money here? It's expensive, low quality, and really not very good.

Your overpriced bowl of chicken noodle soup should be advertised as 3 noodles, 5 pieces of carrot 1 scrap of chicken and 80% broth. What a rip off. read more

Terrible. I visited on Friday and tried to order a latte, but was told that their espresso machine was broken. I visited the following Thursday and their machine was STILL broken! The manager came out and blamed it on the repairmen, but offered no apologies. I ordered a cold brew instead, and the six employees standing around took almost 10 minutes to get it done. Not coming back. read more

My granddaughter fell asleep in her cat seat. I thought ordering carside pick up would be quick and easy. Silly me . I pulled in the carside spot and sent the message I'm here. Then I waited. 5 minutes later I called. No answer. Called again. No answer again. So finally I went to the drive Thursday. Told the person that I have been waiting. His answer was. Oh ya it's.right here. Pull around and ill give it to you. All i said was ok. You know about don't have anything nice to say. So then we get our food home and it was awful. No meat in the sandwiches. No flavor at all. Worst experience in a restaurant in a long time. read more

Ever wonder how some restaurants consistently have poor food and subpar service? Its simple-- bad ownership and a dysfunctional management team leads to poor results every time. True story, my high school aged nephew took a job at McCandless Crossings Panera in late Spring. Never missed a shift and worked hard. Recently his beloved grandfather had passed away and he asked them to change his scheduled work days which were scheduled on the days of the wake and funeral. The manager requested proof of his grandfathers death (what kind of unfeeling and ruthless people do such a thing?). My nephew showed them his grandfather's online obituary . The manager demanded that my nephew work immediately following the conclusion of the wake visitation hours and the funeral mass. My nephew advised that he wished to mourn and be with family during that time. The manager advised that the Panera owners have a strict policy and no exceptions for his circumstance. My nephew quit. He learned a valuable lesson that there are employers who have no sense of doing the right thing. The bigger point is that this Panera's consistently poor rating from Yelpers and other review sites clearly shows that this owner and management team do not care for their employees or patrons. Stay away from this place!!! read more

This is one of the busiest, yet, accommodating Paneras I have been to. Their portions are much larger (specifically the pick 2 Salads) than other Panera locations in PGH. read more

Worst Panera ever!! Did the drive-through. Chicken apple cheddar sandwich was disgustingly soggy, sitting in a pool of liquid with both pieces of bread soaked through..and it had no cheddar on it. The side greek salad lettuce was wilted, there were no kalamata olives or peppers, and instead of red onions it had pickled onions!? Everything looked like it had been sitting around for longer than I'd like to know. Gross. read more

I have been to this location 3 times now, and have sent my food back to them all 3 times. I ordered, what I thought was an Udon soup once, and it looked like beef broth, and smelled like the garbage dumpster. Went there this past Thursday, and ordered a tuna sandwich. I asked the cashier what was on it, prior to ordering, and he said lettuce and tomato. I ordered a half of the sandwich, on plain white bread, with the lettuce and tomato on the side. Waited for 14 minutes, all the while, watching the people preparing the sandwiches working at the pace of a snail. I was given a bag, and checked it immediately. I received a scoop of tuna on a ciabatta bread, with ONIONS on top of the scoop of tuna. (the tuna had not been spread onto the bread, just there in a scoop in the middle of this large, thick ciabatta bread.) I gave it back to the cashier, asking for a refund. How is this so hard to make a simple 1/2 of a tuna salad sandwich with the lettuce and tomato on the side. Incidentally, there was NO lettuce or tomato in the bag on the side, either. My husband had ordered a turkey sandwich with nothing on it, and the "special sauce" on the side. You guessed it....sauce, lettuce, tomato and onions on his sandwich. Unbelievable. This is not brain surgery. It is simple sandwiches. There were so many people waiting in front of the serving station, waiting for their food, that we all started laughing about what could possibly take so long. Needless to say, we returned the order, and have no intentions of EVER returning to this location. They have had several opportunities to serve good food correctly ordered. Three strikes, you're OUT! Sorry McCandless Panera. Oh, yeah, and the manager's lame excuse for this was, "we have a lot of new people making the sandwiches". Not a good answer, M'am, If they can't make a simple tuna sandwich, they need more training from YOU, or they shouldn't be here at all. read more

Wilted salad alert. I ordered the arugula with chicken and it looked like the leaves were wet and frozen. I can only surmise that they don't give a shit, although they apologized profusely. read more

Panera's is an experience no matter where you visit. But depending on the staff food presentation can vary. The one in Monaca is always great. This one was okay but I tend not to eat there -- just coffee and a place to work occassionally. My main Panera's is in Monaca. read more

Slow service, unconcerned wait staff, and a changed menu that does not compete well with the old Panera menu. Waited about 15 minutes to get served. Ordered soup because the salad I used to like was gone and the "replacement" salad was not at all appealing. The soup was cold, and the bowl was only half filled. Went back to get it fixed and gave up after another 10 minutes. And "clean food"? Seriously? What were people eating before? Filth? read more

Went through the drive thru for a Diet Pepsi. Waited 10 min while the 2 cars in front of me were served, just to get to the window and have to wait another 5 min for my drink. Horrible experience, will not ever go to this Panera again. read more

When I first walked in, the layout design was strange and they had the roped line to wait to order, after you order, head down a dark hallway that seems tight and strange, you will find where your rapid pickup orders are and the counter to pickup your food. Also in the hallway was a bench seat which I have never seen in a Panera before but I completely understand why.... other patrons were sitting in the dining area or on the benchseat waiting patiently for their food while I paced for 20 minutes for a pick 2 that should've been easy. Name after name called, people waiting for rapid pickup orders and no sense of urgency until they saw how frustrated I was. The assistant manager was very stressed and freaking out while the employees snailed their way making food. Terrible service, they did get my order right thankfully, but I left very annoyed. read more

This Panera location is the worst. We continually come back due to proximity to our house and the service is consistently bad. Drive thru takes so long and the people working here make it seem like a huge inconvenience to wait on you. read more

While on my way to night class, I thought that using the drive through for 2 drinks would be a good option. How wrong I was. It took way longer than it should have, and ended up making me later for class. It took over 10 minutes to get one drink and I didn't even stay for the second. Drive through is a bust, maybe walking in would result in better service/luck. Would not recommend. read more

Ordered a bacon turkey bravo with no tomato, did not get bacon or cheese and got a tomato, bravo! Ordered a bowl of French onion soup, did not get cheese. Grilled cheese sandwich was barely grilled. The tai peanut salad wasn't bad, but the peanut sauce was killed by the other dressing that was on it. read more

In general, Panera Bread is very pricey. Very small quantities of food and high prices. No more Panera for me.

I love Panera Bread McCandless! McCandless Crossing is a fantastic development! It's very exciting to see this area grow.

This location is hit or miss. I have been several times. The food/service is not consistent. Also the design of store is very poor. If a few people are in front of you in line you may be forced to stand in the vestibule. Other Panera locations have plenty of outlets for you to recharge and do some work if need be. This location outlets very few and far between. read more

Been to this location a number of times. Service has always been very solid. Only Panera I've been to with a drive thru, which is an added convenience. read more

While I like Panera's options and food quality, this particular Panera has been a disaster on the few occasions I've been there. Customer service is horrible. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato and received a grilled cheese with NO CHEESE. There was also "other" stuff on the sandwich (clearly utensils hadn't been cleaned and their remnants ended up on my sandwich). They also failed to provide a spoon with my drive thru order of soup. This place is always a problem. I won't be returning. read more

I am a fan of Panera Bread for their fresh salads, vegetables, bread.. Etc.. Well, here it is not like that at all. The salad I ordered was stale and tasted like it was a week old. My sisters sandwich was disgusting. She had the grilled cheese. And the pasta primavera tasted over a week old. None of the vegetables were fresh. The bread was hard as a rock!! The soup tasted horrible. Talk about being disappointed!! I will never come here again. Now I have to be convinced to ever eat at Panera Bread again!!! Definitely never recommend this place or its location!! read more

Don't bother to call this place to order food! I found out that they don't take orders over the phone ,you have to order on line. I have been ordering food for almost two weeks by phone. Took the person over 5 minutes to take our order and got it wrong multiple times. After being helped by 2 other employees she finally was able to take our order. I work in the plaza and eat in the area often. I've given this location several chances, as have my coworkers, and everyone has given up. They forgot egg on my Mediterranean EGG sandwich...... Can you believe that a toasted bagel is not available because their only toaster is "broken" this morning? Neither could I.

I paid for a near $10 sandwich... and asked for 4 pickles. The guy read off my order twice and he even checked in the bag and there was 1 extra pickle. Why are they so stingy with pickles????? My sandwich probably cost panera $1 .. they can't throw in a couple extra pickles??? This is my 3rd time ordering from this place and each time I have requested an exact number of pickles.. i am pregnant and want my pickles!!! read more

I'll start by saying this review is specifically for this Panera at McCandless Crossing. After doing some investigating, it's a franchised store and apparently this franchise just doesn't give a rat's behind. I've had plenty of good experiences with Panera, so I don't want to overgeneralize. First, whoever designed this store should never work again. You can fit like three people in line before everyone's having to stand out the door, weaving here and there to let people out. On to the real issue, though. This store is the closest to my house and we've tried repeatedly to pick up orders to go there. Every time we get home and realize that multiple parts of the order are wrong. We've taken to trying to remember each time to check the bag and have them fix the mistakes before we leave, but there are times when you're just in a rush and don't end up doing that part of their job for them. Today we had multiple parts of our order wrong, and the manager was the one packing the order! When we got home and realized that the sandwich was the wrong sandwich and the salad was just plain missing from the bag, the "manager" said I could either come down and get a free pastry or get a free "you pick 2 coupon" in the mail. They've had to give me coupons before, and quite frankly, I would much rather just get a correct order than have to be offered a stupid coupon every time I come to the store. I will drive to Wexford or down to McKnight if I want Panera; this place has been like this since they've opened and there's no excuse any more. They're relying off of the popularity of McCandless Crossing but refusing to actually make their restaurant a better run operation. Panera, keep an eye on your franchises: I'm reasonable enough to realize that this one store shouldn't represent the company as a whole, but not everyone's so understanding. read more

Soooo slow. They were all taking and not working. Ordered just mac and cheese and a sandwich. Don't go here if you're in a hurry.

This was horrible I ordered a whole Caesar salad and barely got half. Also I paid 7.06 never again!

There are some significant training issues at this Panera. I used rapid pickup at this location twice and my order was significantly messed up and missing essential items (salad without chicken AND baguette) egg sandwich on bread when requested an Asiago bagel, half sandwich given when I paid for a whole sandwich. These incorrect orders defeat the purpose of using their rapid pickup option since I have to check every item before I leave the store. I will not go to this Panera location again. I never have these issues with other Paneras. read more

I absolutely love this location. The food is wonderful and everyone there is so relaxed and delightful. I would like to commend you on two things in particular. The first is one of your employees, Stephanie. My friends and I come in before book club every Sunday afternoon, and she always has a genuine smile and is the main reason why we come to this Panera instead of the one on McKnight Road. Most employees don't carry on a conversation while ordering, but she does, it's very refreshing. The second thing I wanted to congratulate you on, was the drive-thru. Everything is always done with haste and care. The line moves quickly, even during a busy time or when the people in front of me order 8 different things. I really love this location. Also, the sound quality is perfect. I can hear them, and they can hear me(I hope!). In conclusion,I recommend everyone to come here and try something, it's such a nice place and I have never been unsatisfied with my visit at this location. It's very clean as the employees are constantly making sure everybody is happy and has a clean place to sit and enjoy their food. Good job! read more

So I was at panera last Wednesday and I went up to the register and I had this really nice employee named Antwon or Anton or something like that and he just seemed so happy to work there and he made sure my order was perfect before taking my money.
