I usually love Panera, but this location is sub-par. It began pretty strong but recently has taken a nosedive in accuracy, portion, and quality. I don't normally leave bad reviews, but today I received baguettes that were barely lukewarm on the outside, cold (as in refrigerated) on the inside, and stale. The point of Panera is the bread being fresh and good. On top of that, part of my order was wrong, and the soba noodles had only enough broth to wet the bottom of the bowl. The portions at this location seem smaller as well, making the already pricey (for what it is) menu seem a bit ridiculous. Chilly, stale bread should not be served at a place that bases its namesake on bread. read more

I love Panera but this one is very poorly managed. They run out of items, mix up orders and are slow.

The sandwich order was mixed up twice.....The final product had some sort of vinegar cole slaw on it and it was awful. The orange scone was raw and mushy inside. There was not one good thing about this place. I would have given it NO stars but it wasn't an option. Every other Panera bread I have visited was great. This one is really bad. read more

Really disappointed with the food. I used to live in St. Louis where Panera originated from and I'm sad to say that the Oxford location is not up to par. Where's the meat? I'm sorry you can't charge $6+ for a sandwich and just put 2 tiny pieces of chicken on it. Yes, the bread is delicious, but the sandwiches are just mostly bread. I gave this location 2 tries and sadly I won't be back. I should also mention that parking here is terrible! It's right next to an urgent care clinic so many of the spots are marked for patients only. Many students come for the free wi-fi, but really they're taking up those valuable parking spots. This panera bread is GARBAGE. I thought the service at McDonald's was bad but this... this is a winner. Completely botched the order, made poorly, and even bagged without care. My sandwich came with chicken on it, so instead of shredding it like any normal human, they actually put an entire cooked tender on there. Also, girlfriend got her sandwich which came with avocado on it and instead of slicing the avocado, they put literally an entire avocado on it untouched. It was actually laughable. read more

My mother and I stopped by this place 2 months ago and they were very rude. We walked in and the girls at the front saw us, looked over and kept chatting which each other like we wasn't even there. They were very chatty and seem not to actually be working. I noticed they do that a lot there because we actually came in twice on two different days. Maybe their manager needs to train them to be professionals. We waited around for a few minutes and no one asked if we need any help or how may I assist you. We had to actually ask for someone to wait on us and when we did the girl was putting bread up and looked at us as if we asked for her SS#. Someone finally waited on us after we asked she began talking to us like we were incompetent as to what products were available as if we never ate at a dam Panera Bread before. This place is really full of rude country bunkins that act as if this a 5 star restaurant. And to top it off, I've ate at plenty other locations around the world, and this one by far sucks the most and really have limited items to choose from. I don't recommend eating here and I will never, nor my mother, come back here even if this was the last location on the planet! P.S. I'll start by saying that I generally love Panera. But the Oxford location is horrible!! I went by this morning to pick up my free bagel and buy a few other items. The young lady at the register tried several times to enter my loyalty card to retrieve my free bagel and finally asked if I wanted to pay for it instead!! No, thank you! My first visit to a panera bread and i am pleased I stopped and ate. I asked for a suggestion of something healthy and the girl said she liked the Greek salad with chicken. I eat very little meat and today's not a meat day so I got it without the chicken. The salad was great and the bread that's included on the side complemented it perfectly. Service great, food was not Panera quality even for takeout. We had a rapid order and food was on-time but soup was warm at best and we picked up order the moment it was bagged in the window until we got home 6 minutes later and had already cooled off. Tells me wasn't piping hot to begin with. Salad had a good bit of wilted lettuce and small on the portion sizing not consistent with other Panera experiences. The service experience was great as we had interaction with cashier and manager albeit limited given it was a takeout order. Love the brand and given this is a newer location on a holiday weekend will give them another go, although with all the other premium sandwich/salad places in Oxford they will have to step it up...and fast!! read more

The Panera Bread located in Oxford, MS does not stand up to standards set by other Panera Breads. When I have visited the Panera's in Olive Branch or Memphis, I have always received warm greetings and great customer service, the same will not be found at Panera Oxford. I wrote off my first few bad experiences at Panera, thinking maybe I just caught employees on a bad day. But after receiving uncalled for attitude today, I left without even completing my order. I asked for an everything bagel with white cheddar cheese, bacon, and avocado. The cashier huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes at my request before telling me "That ain't even a sandwich." I said oh, well the menu says you can build your own, to which she responded with more attitude. Even if for some reason she could not fulfill my request, the eye rolling and exasperated sighs were unnecessary. read more

The prices are very reasonable. Their half-salads are plenty big for a meal and my kids enjoy the selection food (and pastries!). Their rewards program is also good. When I order food to go it is usually ready before the promised time and when I eat in the restaurant, it is always a pleasant experience. read more

My visit there was unsatisfactory. The General Manager was extremely rude to her associates and customers making conversation with associates. She was also using some poor choices of words towards a guest. The food was distasteful and the bread tastes like it wasn't fresh. The most complacent staff I've ever come across at a restaurant. 9 times out of 10 they get something wrong in the order (yes, I'm the fool for continuing to come back). Just finished up lunch at this location (4/29/17, 2 pm). Restaurant was clean, unused tables clean, etc. Service not good. Two people were working behind the counter and walked by us several times without acknowledging our presence or even saying hello. They finally rung up and food was served. My daughter ordered a grilled cheese, which cost me $6.79. The grilled cheese she was served looked like it has been bludgeoned to death. (Holes in the bread, cheese everywhere). I took it up to the counter and showed them the $6.79 hot mess and was met with a blank stare. I asked for another one and was then served lightly grilled bread with cold cheese, not melted at all. Took it back up to the counter again. Finally got a somewhat decent grilled cheese on the third try. We never heard one sorry, or hey, that's not right, let us make a new one. Not once. I grew up in California and went to Panera a lot and loved it. Needless to say, I was very excited to get one here in Oxford. However I have been very disappointed. Every time I have been here my order has been messed up or made wrong. Multiple times I have paid extra for cucumbers and/or avocado and neither have been on my sandwich. In addition I have gotten a sandwich a few times with just a few pieces of spinach in it and a tomato. The people working seem very sweet and nice and the service is fast. This restaurant is the nicest most respected establishment in all of the land. Panera was created by God himself to grace all of us with the food of the heavens. The lord himself hand crafts the broccoli cheddar soup so that everyone has the chance to enjoy at such a reasonable price. This was my 2nd visit to Panera Bread in Oxford MS. It was a special "mommy and me" night with my son, who loves Panera. We were having a very nice time. He is 3 and was very excited. A fantastic worker brought us our food. She was cleaning and stocking the entire time we were there. She is a very good worker, her name was pawani. So when I bite into my chipotle chicken, it was very bland. I realize it has little to no chipotle mayo. So I went to the counter to ask for more. The girl went into the back to get it. I realize I cannot see my son so I walk down to where I can and I just so happen to be able to see into the kitchen. Several minutes go by and 4 workers are joking and eating and laughing. Finally this girl goes in the back and brings back a large container of the mayo. I figure them being out is why I had none In the first place. She proceeds to stock the work area and fill up two bottles with the mayo. I'm losing my patience as is my 3 year old. So then, she just walks away and the other workers continue to eat and laugh and talk and ignore me. Finally after waiting another minute or so, I say " can I please just get my mayo". One of the girls starts telling me how they had to go get some more and I say " yes, I've sat here and watched the whole thing but I have a child out here can I just get it and I can go sit down. " The girl keeps on arguing with me about how they had to find a container and she did offer to bring it to me but there was no way I was taking my eyes off the mayo at this point. I told her thank you but if they would just put it in a container, I would wait. Everyone scatters and after waiting another two minutes, I'm now livid. The mayo jar and two full bottles are sitting on the counter 3 feet from where I am standing waiting on a candid camera crew to pop out of the bathroom at any moment. Finally, I reach down and grab a to go soup container and hand it over the window and ask if they would please just put some of the mayonnaise in this cup, I could go eat my food that I just paid $27 for. My son is now calling, " mama" "mama". They seriously all just look at each other or walk away and I'm so mad I'm shaking. Finally now that I'm literally demanding that they take this cup and put some mayo in it and every worker there is acting like I'm waving a gun around instead of a sou container, one of the workers gets the container and puts some mayo in it. They acted like I was so out of line that I almost doubted myself until I read the other reviews here on yelp. We still had a lovely night but I won't darken the doorway of this place again after being so disrespected. Ifs a shame too bc we just moved and now come to Oxford a lot to eat but we will give our money to a place that appreciates their customers. read more

Before my first experience at Panera Bread, I can't recall hearing any negative reviews from people. I expected the quality of the food to be similar to that of a Newk's or McAllister's. However, what I experienced was far from my expectations, and I was highly disappointed in the service. My mother and I placed an order that was priced similar to Newk's/Oby's/McAllister's (around $30 for 2 meals and drinks). I ordered a steak and cheese melt and my mom got an Asian salad. After about 10 minutes of waiting in the dull, basic dining area, the server brought us our order. My mom's salad was decent although it was kind of soggy and mediocre. My sandwich (supposed to be a warm, melted panini) was cold and very sloppily put together. Besides a couple pieces of "steak" and a slice of unmelted cheese, I could barely tell if any of the other items listed (sauteed onions, mayonaisse, etc.) were on the sandwich. My mom asked them politely if it was supposed to look/taste as bland as it was. The server kind of got an attitude and stormed off with my sandwich. He finally brought it back and to their credit, he at least had it warmed up; however, at this point I wasn't even interested on finishing my food. Bottom line, I expected much better, especially considering the money I spent. Not going back to this location if I can help it. read more

Where do I start? Well, having grown up in St. Louis I've never had problems with any of their original locations. I've had issues with the Oxford location a few times before today, but I guess this was the last straw for me. I went through the drive-through and ordered a broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. What's funny is the fact that they call it a bread bowl and proceed to give you a cup of soup with the bread. Anyways, after paying and receiving the food I drove back to my house. I guess I should have checked the bag but I had figured putting a cup of soup and piece of bread in a bag wouldn't be very difficult for their employees. I looked in the bag and I had only the cup of soup, so I drove back up there and politely asked for a bread bowl. There was basically zero remorse from their employees and all they did was hand me back a bag with a bread bowl. Finally, I returned home with my order and the sourdough bread bowl was super dry, and really didn't even taste like sourdough bread. It's safe to say I will never go there for food again. read more
