I'm an Event Coordinator from out of state so when I have to find a caterer for an event in the area for customers, Panera Bread was the go-to place. However, the one closest to my event was not available so I had to scramble for another one and found this one that was about 12 miles out of the way. Rudy was super helpful and ensured that my breakfast order for 70 people was handled efficiently and effectively. While it's daunting to figure out "how much should I get of this" or "do you think that's enough?" kind of questions, Rudy was patient and courteous from beginning to end. Because Panera Bread is a chain, you expect to get great customer service, but every person that answers the phone doesn't necessary convey the quality you expect. This location had definitely exceeded the expectations of quality customer service. Kudos to Rudy and his staff for helping an out of state person coordinate some good breakfast for clients. It's the usual Panera Bread. My son loves it, so we go quite often, and this location is closest to home. I was reading the reviews because I wanted to see the opening time, and I felt like the reviews were pretty skewed to the negative side. I was looking for the opening time because you have to go early if you want specific bagels or they sell out. My family likes the cinnamon crunch and the cinnamon raisin. They love the honey walnut cream cheese. When we go for dinner, I always bring a sweater. It can be over air-conditioned. The food is always good, and if they do mess anything up, they make it right. I used to love Panera Bread, but I have been disappointed a few times lately. I think today was the last time I'll go there. I got the turkey Avocado BLT, not only was there no avocado, but it was doused in so much mayo I couldn't eat it. Can I get a sandwich with my mayo please? I eat at this Panera location frequently and today I was very dissatisfied with the service and experience. When my friend and I arrived it was the end of the lunch rush and the dining area was pretty dirty but we were still able to find a clean table. After we finished our meal we stayed to study. Once the shifts changed so did the the environment of the restaurant. The employees were loud, rude and disruptive behind the prep counter. On top of cursing and bickering to one another they talked about how much they didn't like their jobs and they were speaking poorly about customers. The worst part was the one girl who was practically bullying another associate. I was shocked at how the employees were acting. This is a business and they were not representing the company well. We ordered several items as a group to go. We checked our order before we left, however we were missing a black bean soup, three of our salads were missing ingredients. We found this after we arrived back to our local family we were visiting. We called to try and correct our issue, and were given the option of a free meal on our next return. This Panera's is the worse I've ever been in. The staff is friendly, but the tables are sticky the floors need to be swept or vacuumed. The food is tasty but the pick two portions are very small. This is the third and last time. Twice on previous visits they did not get my order correct and even when they tried to correct it, it was wrong. $30.00 for pick 2 (for 2) is a bit much for so little. However, if you don't mind less food for more money and sticky tables, I guess it's ok. read more

The Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli Bowl was an understated yawn. The presentation was dull and lifeless, and the flavor was only a half-hearted attempt to awaken the taste buds. I could not discern the presence of quinoa, did not know whether the rice was cilantro lime or just plain brown, and I found no teriyaki glaze, and no sprinkle of sesame seeds and cilantro. The taste was okay, but no better than a frozen entrée from the grocery store. This dish had no pop, nothing memorable whatsoever. It should be no surprise that the food delivered to my table looked nothing like the menu, which features a MOUND of food rising above the rim of the bowl. My bowl was only half-filled with a crater of food. To say that I was frustrated and disappointed would be an understatement. If I were rating the San Marcus location I'd give it 5 stars. Unfortunately the New Braunfels location is not near as good. The tables are always sticky and the service is usually slow. The coffee bar is crowded and unorganized. Food gets a 4 but the place itself brings it down overall. read more

I love Panera in general but will never go back to this location. I placed a large order through the app on morning and drove out the to pick it up. When I arrived, all the staff appeared confused about what I had ordered and where it was. They all just stood there and shrugged their shoulders rather than bothering to figure it out. They weren't busy, there was literally one other customer in the store and that person already had their food. I finally asked to see a manager who told me that they were out of everything I ordered except for one item. They didn't even apologize. I would never have driven all the way there for just the one item they had. Why didn't they call to see if I wanted a substitute or still wanted the order? Then they acted stunned when asked for a refund on the items they didn't have! read more

- no one was seated inside. There was one table w/8 chairs marked as "no sit due to COVID". The manager said we could not sit there (the place was empty). We wound up outside. - a server spilled L's drink on his food, but said "I'll bring you another one". They returned a minute later with the same soiled food and drink - A ordered a scone. They brought her drink, but not the scone. I asked "did you forget the scone?" to which they answered "we're out" and kept walking - A said her drink was bad. She went inside and reported the issue. "It also looks bad" they said. - L's dad ordered some cream cheese, but they didn't bring it. "Am I missing the cheese?" he asked. "It's inside", the server said, and kept walking - J's female guest asked "where is the preserves" that came with their food. "Preserves?" the server asked puzzled. She did not know jam = preserves - A mystery extra bacon wrap arrived. No one ordered it. - At one point someone complained about their order not being right, saying "We all ordered on the kiosk". The staff is consistently in a rush to get orders out to where they are always getting orders wrong and overfilling drinks with more ice than fluid. This place is a nasty ripoff. Wife and I stopped in here about 4:30 pm the other day, only to find out they were out of more breads than they had. And the girl at the counter couldn't describe what they had left (I always thought that Farmhouse bread was a wheat bread but she told us it was wheat). Any they did find two scraps of a white bread to make my wife's sandwich and rounded up some baked potato soup for her pick 2. I just had a whole bacon tomato grilled cheese. After sitting down at a sticky table as many other reviewers have described, we got our food. Wife's soup tasted old and out of a can. It was disgusting. And her half grilled cheese was weak on cheese, could've easily just called it a grilled bread sandwich. On top of all of this, she had a very upset stomach later in the evening, no doubt due to the old tasing soup that they found somewhere. And my $9 sandwich had a bit of cheese, two slices of bacon cut in half so that each half of sandwich had two half pieces, and maybe 4 chunks, yes, chunks of tomato, not slices. Again, pretty much a grilled bread sandwich. I hate to talk ill of businesses (not) but this place needs to mercifully go out of business. read more

I went with my family to the restaurant and got a salad, mac and cheese, and a frozen caramel cold brew. I at first got the cold brew half filled and melted to the point of separation and ended up sending it back. Once I got my salad I tasted something rotten and realized the lettuce was spoiled, wilted, and brown. I get a new salad with romaine lettuce and started eating it. as i finished it theres blonde hairs in the bottom of my bowl, and at that point i was so disgusted and had taken my food back twice and just left to eat somewhere else. While some of the staff was understands, they were standing around talking and didn't once check in to see if the new food was good. i 100% will not be returning, and the guests around me watched me pull platinum blonde hairs out of my food some i'm sure they won't either. they literally deconstructed their sandwiches because they heard the worker say the whole supply of lettuce was rotted. honestly extremely disgusted and disappointed. read more

If it was possible to give a negative number I would. I have only written two reviews ever on restaurants this being number two. In other words, I am not one to complain often about restaurants. This was absolutely one of my worst experiences ever. The food was horrible, sandwiches slapped together with zero effort. My sandwich looked like there was no bottom to it . It was obvious they just pulled it out of the pre-packaged Cisco portions, nuked it and through it on the bread. The soup was cold, tables all dirty and service nonexistent. It took me almost 15 minutes just to get my order placed. There are roughly 5 registers/computers and only 1 employee taking orders. Also, once my order was ready (35 minutes after walking in the door) they let it sit for several minutes, and finally someone yelled out my order number, and said they couldn't find me when I walked up to get it. I AM VERYYYY UPSET!!!! I come in to order food and all is great I pay $14 for my food and I tip the cashier as well. However, when i go to get some sweet tea, they did not have any so I went to ask Chelsea if they had any sweet tea and the option they had was unsweet and pump in sugar. I am not one to do that but I didnt mind, except they were out of their "pump sugar". AND SHE DIDNT EVEN GO AND GET MORE!! Instead she goes up to the front laughing at my problem with the "manager" Sara. And within the whole time she was giving me attitude and treating me as if I had no idea what i was talking about. So i went to a restaurant next door to get some sweet tea and when I return with a cup in hand they laugh at me as i am coming in the door. On top of that they never gave me a number to get my food, so my food had a delay of getting out. Then when i get my food its wrong I had asked my cashier, the "supposedly" manager, what came on it and she never said peppers! ALSO the receipt says if ur order is not right they will give you a treat. All i want for my treat is to go into a restaurant and not be laughed at when you are having a problems, that is very unprofessional, and you should NOT have a kid as a manager if they can not or are not able to manage or have control on a situation. Panera Bread - Salad Near Me - New Braunfels, Texas

This Panera needs new management!! I have tried to order bagels from this location on multiple occasions an hour after opening, and they are always sold out. Today I placed pick up order 30 minutes before opening for 6 bagels, 5 pastries, and a tub of cream cheese. The place is completely dark inside at 8:15, with lock boxes on the outside. Not even sure if it's still in business. I walk up and the door is locked. This is 15 minutes after opening. Then someone sees me looking inside walks ups unlocks the door and walks away. No sorry about that, good morning, nothing. I grab my order and go home. Once home I toast my bagels and get everything all set to find out there is NO cream cheese in the bag! Beyond frustrated I drive back to the store, where nobody is at the counter. I say excuse me to someone in the back and a girl walks out. I said hi I ordered cream cheese with my pick up order I got home toasted my bagels and there is no cream cheese. She has the audacity to say are you sure it wasn't in the bag? Ummmm yeah lady I drove all the way home toasted my bagels to not look in the bag for cream cheese. No sorry about that nothing. I am never coming back to this location again. read more

Ordered take out. As usual Almost NO meat on the sandwiches which are $9. There was also lady in the restaurant complaining about having no tuna on her tuna sandwich. I had problems adding the $1 cookie to my online order at the $1 price. The manager was very kind & offered a free cookie. We purchased 3 meals online & I needed 2.. however the girl at the front didn't know how to ring it up as $1... and said he offered you one free. I told her I'd pay for two, but wanted the $1 price. She looked confused & said she'd ring it up, at that point I said, just give me the one cookie, so I can get out of here. She kept ringing it up & still tried to charge me the $2.79 full price, which was ridiculous as it should be $1. I said, again, just give me the free cookie it's ok I need to get out of here. She got snotty with me & said, didn't you "just" say you wanted two. I told her I did, but I just asked for one, this is getting ridiculous & I need to get out of here. Didn't like her attitude or eye roll look, it's not my fault she didn't know how to ring it up as it should be. I don't frequent Panera at all. I work close to this one so I have stopped three times after work. I have gone through the drive-thru every time. The first two times the food was OK but the customer service was awful. The girl working the window was rude and literally shoved my bag of food at my face, yelled thank you so quickly that I couldn't respond and then slammed the window. It was the same girl the first two times. Tonight, I stopped for the third time, and it was a different young girl, but equally rude. She shoved my food out the window at me and slammed the window, but had forgotten half of my order. I sat at the window for several minutes while she and the other kids working goofed around and played with their cell phones. When she finally looked back at the window and saw me still sitting there, she must have realized her mistake and brought me the rest of my order. She didn't apologize or anything, just opened the window and shoved out the rest of it. It seems to just be a bunch of kids working, with no supervision. We visit this location several times a month and this place has a bunch of young kids running it. Always out of something (out of bread a week ago), staff not friendly, food cold, always filthy, tables so sticky, my husband was waiting for a bagel for almost 20 min. Went to see what the hold up was and his bagel was sitting there while staff was hanging out chit chatting. So disappointed! Last week Saturday my family (a party of 10) decided to take a break from shopping at the outlet mall and go to Panera in New Braunfels especially because we had some family members headed back to San Antonio and other destinations so this location made it very convenient for them. we all had an array of different orders but I myself had the broccoli and cheese soup which I feel like it's hard to find a good broccoli and cheese soup especially with the onions cooked down well or chopped small enough and Panera did an excellent job of that. I also had Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt to go with the pick two meal and it was very tasty. The portions were filling although I also got a just a regular cookie and I would say it was ok nothing impressive about it. One thing I did love about Panera is the different types of tea they offered the blood orange was my absolute favorite. This location has plenty of seating as we arrive just a little over 12noon and it started to get busy quick and of course so a Saturday and the location we were worried about seating our big party but the big table in the middle of the seating area fit us just fine. My only complaint is that our was quite dirty and when we asked the employee (didnt catch her name) if she wouldnt mind wiping it down she seemed very upset that we asked her to wipe down our table which still felt sticky after she did a quick wipe. Overall the family seemed please with their food especially my grandpa who loved his french onion soup and can be hard to please. read more

Had lunch here this week and was not impressed. The counter person was very good, courteous and efficient. But Panera is charging way too much money for what you get now a days and for mediocre food. The pick two 1/2 sandwich and soup was not up to par. The cup of soup was very small and the bread on the sandwich was very chewy. My husband got a sandwich and said he could barely chew the bread. For a 1/2 sandwich (very small) & small cup of soup, + a sandwich and a very small cup of mac and cheese we took to go for our daughter was over $28! The food service people were unfriendly with the exception of the cashier. She was great. The others seemed to be having difficult days. I have eaten at many Panera Bread Restaurants in Texas. This is one of our favorite places to eat!! We call it my daughter's form of chuckee cheese LOL It's where she always asks to go and everyone is so friendly!!
