I am a big fan of this chain where this particular restaurant is a relatively new business in Manitowoc. It has the typical food and quality that you expect to see from this chain where this store has what appears to be a smaller selection of the typical baked goods you see in the bigger cities. The business itself is very clean and bright with a friendly staff. Its nice to have known good food options when traveling and this restaurant is a nice addition to the Manitowoc area. Another big plus of this particular Panera is its close proximity to Interstate 43 providing easy on and off dining option for those folks traveling or on the go.

New chicken sandwich was awful and dry! Nothing like the photos on the building!

This is what the new chicken sandwich looks like! So dry I had to constantly drink something to get it down and there is tiny bits of fried pickle that might make 1 whole pickle. Super dissatisfied! Was on the road otherwise I would have demanded a new one! I won't be back to any Panera if this is what you get!

I was disappointed that it 9 AM on a Sunday morning The selection of bagels was very slim. The explanation being that the bagel bakers work overnight, and there's no replenishing of the low supply after that. Although I'm sure next week they will allow for the popularity of some of the flavors and make more.

I ordered the Garlic Pesto Italiano and a small bowl of the Supreme Pizza soup. The soup definitely tasted like pizza and some of the ingredients were more prevalent than others, like large chunks of tomato and the cheese and black olive they put on top. It would have been nice to have just a little bit more sausage in it, but it was still a very good soup as is. I'm so glad I came for the Garlic Pesto Italiano sandwich. All of the components shined without one masking the others. It's a shame that this is only a monthly special and not a regular menu item. The place isnt very large inside with only a few small tables and I chose to sit at the closest one to the register and put a table between myself and another couple that was already eating. No one else came in until I left, so it was a little awkward sitting there and eating while the employee at the register just stood there and watched, waiting for more customers to come in instead of finding something to do. She seemed young and possibly relatively new based on another employee giving her tips on how to look up item descriptions in their register, so I assume that's not a typical problem they have and more of a one off.

I was lucky enough to snag a reservation, and the 2 of us were seated promptly on time. The ample offerings included some of the best bacon I've ever had, smashed redskin potatoes that perfectly offset the tasty, crispy broasted chicken, plus ham, eggs, sausage, dressing, creamy Mac & cheese, biscuits & gravy and so much more! The staff were absolutely on the ball and very friendly. This is the kind of place you expect to see lots of people you know as the whole community celebrates this special occasion. The banquet hall and catering business go by Waterfront Catering, and they also own the Waterfront Bar, which actually is on the Kewaunee waterfront, while the banquet hall is not. A bit confusing, but we managed to work it out using our superpowered brains. Parking can be a bit tricky for larger events like today's, but we were able to sort that out, too. This is not a dive bar, but a great neighborhood spot to gather for great food (open for dinner nightly), a few cold ones, a game of pool and some smart talk. It's all about the gemütlichkeit, and one of the reasons I love Wisconsin! Oh, plus the chicken was EPIC!

As soon as we walked in we knew the advice was sound. We sat at a high top and were greeted by our genuinely terrific waitress. She brought me the best bourbon sour I had ever tasted. The food (I had the codfish platter and my wife had a codfish sandwich) was beautifully prepared. The bar was so inviting that I absolutely thought that if I found myself living in Kewaunee, the folks here would know me by my first name. If Kewaunee is your destination shame on you if you miss the Uptown. If the staff of the Uptown read this, please know that we are grateful for your hospitality.

The inside almost feels like a house that was renovated into a restaurant in the coolest way possible with a very open layout, stripped-down feel, and a super unique kitchen setup literally right behind the bar. If you're a Star Wars fan, this place is a must. The theme throughout the restaurant was awesome and definitely added to the experience for us since we're huge Star Wars people. The staff overall was really friendly and welcoming too. Special shoutout to the hostess Lea super friendly... wink wink if you know, you know. Our server was chipper and sweet the whole time. She did accidentally get our drinks wrong and forgot the cheese on my burger, but honestly it wasn't a huge deal because she was so nice about everything. The burger itself was decent but a little dry. I did appreciate the extra pickles though because that's exactly how I like it. Now let's talk about the real reason to go here- drumroll... Cheese Whiz cheesesteak. Absolutely incredible. Honestly one of the best cheesesteaks I've had in a long time and 100% worth the drive alone. The cheese curds were also really good and definitely worth ordering for the table. And when I mean drive I mean drive, just a few hours south from Chicago aka Bear land, GO BEARS Overall, not every single item blew us away, but the atmosphere, Star Wars theme, friendly staff, and THAT cheesesteak made this place memorable. We'd absolutely come back just for the Cheese Whiz sandwich.
