Major disappointment! I was excited when I saw a Panera right near my hotel and ran in to grab a quick dinner, really wish I hadn't gone to this location! I ordered a Mediterranean warm bowl, one of the main ingredients (as shown in image from their website) was arugula, I had maybe 5 pieces of arugula.. nothing like the picture on the website. This is a social media vs reality situation. I received a bowl of sauces (hummus and Greek yogurt) with some rice and a couple pieces of arugula, for $12! (Pictures are from their website, not my own!)

My fresh cup of coffee from Panera Bread!

I'm never going back each and every time the service is horrible. I will have to find another Panera Bread that appreciates their customers. This one obviously does not! If I could give it a -10 I would

Exterior. Weird getting out of this place.

This is a newerish Panera. It's big and is just off of one of the many screwy circles they have over there off exit 10 in Malta. I'm not a fan of the parking setup or the traffic pattern at this Panera at all or those damn traffic circles. Anywho, the building itself is different from your run of the mill Panera location and I likes it. Lots of kiosks inside that nobody uses of course. The help inside was helpful and they filled my bagel and treat order in a jif. Tip jars a plenty so I did indeed float them a wee bit extree as it was deserved. If you like Panera, this one will do the job..large inside with lots of seating and they have a drive thru too. Bakers dozen bagels on Tuesdays are $6.99. Ask them to slice them and they will no problemo. They'll even separate the everything bagels from the rest...

Toasted Frontega Chicken. Just say no. It was dry, hard, and had no tomatoes as advertised. Still trying to find/taste the basil!

Sandwiches are dry, hard, and lacked a made fresh taste! The presentation of sandwiches to customers (in wrinkled paper that looks reused) has a lot to be desired. Disappointing and overrated!

Decent Panera. This morning they seemed unprepared and there was a foul smell near the cash registers. Not sure what that was about.... Coffee is always great. Bagels good. All good

We waited about 30 minutes, and a few tables cleared, some people were seated and 1 table was left clean and empty. Ten minutes after the table was cleared the hostess came up to us (2 adults, 2 children) and expressed that there was a table paying and she would seat us soon. That table never happened. Five minutes later a family of 7 paid and we were offered their table. I did mention how there were other tables cleaned already and sat at the table that was offered at that time. After finally being seated, we sat for 10-15 minutes without any service. Then the owner Jayson Hunter, addressed the seating arrangements with an adjacent table instead of directly addressing our concerns. Since I am the person who said something about the seating arrangements, he could have came to us instead of being a fucking coward and talking shit to a table that has no idea why he is explaining his seating arrangements! Second, the fucking cockroach that came wondering out looking very lost like he didn't know what to do was it for us! If my kid didn't have my phone at that moment (he just waited over 50 minutes to eat) I would have taken a picture of the roach too We decided to leave! Be aware when you step into his restaurant in Ballston Spa and 20 North in Schenectady! My husband asked for a manager and expressed to her the issues, when Jayson saw me start to record, he avoided the conversation leaving what may be his wife, to handle the situation?!?!! They both walked out side of the restaurant while we were leaving to watch us?!?!? I will never visit Ballston Lakeview Tavern or 20 north again. While this may seem small to your business, I promise Karma is a Bi*** and I sure hope you learn some customer service Skills!

The common ordinary comfort food, plain, predictable, uninspiring…read more The soup that warmed us up as kids, was the fallback when there was really no time to cook lunch, yeah, good ole tomato soup, we all know its story. Enter the chefs at the Ripe Tomato. No canned Campbell's or Sysco soup for them. This dish (I believe it was called Tomato Soup with Dill and Crab) comes to life in the Ripe Tomato kitchen from scratch, with chunks of tomato and some onion, a bit of dill, and a generous amount of crab meat. I asked and yes, it IS real lump crab meat, not that pathetic imitation stuff that some think can be sold as "crab". Add in a pinch of dill, and whatever it takes to make the soup delightfully creamy without being thick and pasty, and the creation is ready to serve. This dish above all else demonstrates my long held belief that superb cooking does not need a French name, unpronounceable ingredients, an hour's waiting time, being served in some sort of exquisite china by snobby haughty waiters, to be magical and engaging. Ordinary everyday food, and nothing is more ordinary and everyday than tomato soup, can become an experience and not just part of a meal; an amazing surprise that rocks one's understanding of what dish can and should be; in the hands of a talented and inspired chef. The Ripe Tomato has become our favorite lunch spot in the Tri-Cities. If we went out for dinner, it would be our favorite dinner spot. Warm, homey, welcoming, without pretense or glitter, when we walk in the door we feel at home. The place is real and enjoyable. Service is excellent, prompt, always considerate and friendly. The service is such that it is easy to feel that you are at your friend's place, and they made some special meals that they want to share. Lest you think that culinary excellence is going to cost an arm and a leg, I had an enormous and delicious order of quiche for an entree with my soup; my wife had a large Bahama Salad with enough tender juicy chicken for 2 meals, and the price was the same as 2 burgers at Red Robin. Granted that would be 2 of their fancier burgers, but tell me - what would YOU rather eat? I am running out of time here, but I want to assure you that the entrees live up to the expectations generated by the soup.
