AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! If I could give this pampers a negative rating, it would be a -10. The worst experience. I've stopped here for a coffee on the way to work/class before and it's been good, but I believe that's because it's self serve coffee. The biggest task they have is taking my money and giving me a cup. But today, they couldn't even do that. The first girl was nice (you could tell she was new), but incorrectly processed our order, so the manager had to come over and fix it so we could pay. He neither looked at us, smiled, nor spoke. No name was taken for our order, so we waited for our order number to be called. We waited about 15-20 minutes and numerous other people who arrived after us, were called in before us. I finally asked, a bit irritated at this point because this was suppose to be a quick stop to eat, and the staff making the food told me they were waiting on eggs. Except the past 3 orders I saw walk by all had egg sandwiches. So I pressed her further and she looked at the counter and pointed to an order named "S" and said that she called "S" and that was our order. Again, no name was ever asked nor given, and this order had an "S" as a name? The food is in these photos... one was suppose to be on a brioche, the other on a ciabatta. Instead of a brioche we received a hockey puck and instead of a ciabatta we received a croissant. Both were burnt and flat. I go to this Panera Bread location often to take advantage of the free wireless internet. (Can't every place get free WiFi already? Jeez.) I've tried several things here and I've never been disappointed. If you like the standard Panera food, you'll like it here. The only thing I found strange was that this seems to be a location where the people of Southfield do business. One time I saw this large meeting of about 20 people in the store listening to some guy talk and I swear he was trying to convince them to join his pyramid scheme. Then one other time a woman walked in with a laptop and hooked a fax machine up to it. I'm completely serious! Then I saw a guy on a laptop, talking on the phone through his bluetooth headset and watching a DVD on a portable DVD player. In some ways, it's a great to get out to a coffee shop and read or study. On the other hand, it's not always fun to feel like you're just in another office. read more

I placed an order through DoorDash for this location and the order was confirmed it was received by Panera.... When the dasher got there Panera said they never received my order. When we tried to call the number to get a hold of someone it would just ring then hang up (after about a dozen rings). Instead of saying they'll rush it, they just kept arguing with the dasher. Went in this morning to get a dozen bagels for my staff meeting. To my surprise there was no line and I was able to be helped right away! The clerk was super nice and helpful, she offered to cut all my bagels which never happens unless you ask. I wish this location had a drive-thru that would be awesome. Your untrained cashier obviously needs more training. We chose curbside pickup but Panera was too busy to come out to the car , so I went inside. The food had a horrible smell to it; the food tasted like it came from the trash. The inside of the restaurant didn't look clean. I should have taken a picture of how the restaurant looked behind the counter. I miss Matt, the old counter manager. The pizza was hard, and wasn't hot. The cinnamon rolls were excellent and they gave us an extra bag of chips, and they were friendly. Mixed on a recommendation or not. This location isn't too bad but it's definitely not the best. My order consisted of their turkey sandwich with swiss cheese and their apple coleslaw and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup with a frozen lemonade and my girlfriend got a bowl of the broccoli cheddar soup. The serve was a bit slow but the food still tasted good overall. The sandwich was good up until the last four bites or more when the sandwich got really soggy and fell apart. The soup also wasn't very hot when we got it and the frozen lemonade did not have a lot of flavor in it either. All in all, not too bad but not that great. read more

Let's just say the lunch order for my office was not optimal. First, our ancient delivery driver mixed up our $90 order for another $30 order at another building. After we told him he brought the wrong order, he went back to the other office building where the other people were eating all of our food. So, we called and they said they'd prepare our order again, and were even holding off on other deliveries to make sure we got our order ASAP. 30 minutes later, the order comes, and LITERALLY everything was wrong. The errors included: salads that are supposed to have chicken with no chicken, salad with the wrong dressing, wrong bread and toppings on one sandwich, one sandwich was completely wrong, and my soup was omitted altogether. They couldn't have screwed up this any more if they tried on purpose. How this left the building a second time without it being right blows my mind. Every other Panera that I've ever visited has seemed like a five-star dining experience compared to this location. read more

This is a lunch stop for us and is one of my wife's fav's. Although a smaller Panera, the service is generally good and food prepared quickly. The bread is very good, as it should be, and their sandwich ingredients are fresh and delicious. Their soups are outstanding and the real reason we keep coming back. Chicken & Wild Rice, Turkey Chili and Tomato all have a homemade feel and hit the spot on a cool fall day. read more

I had to make an emergency pit stop at this Panera off of Southfield. I had my laptop with me and needed to check out some info. And I especially needed a plug, because it's batter was out of juice. So, first priority was the plug and in most Panera's they are hard to find-you have to do a floor search and check the walls. This Panera was different in that they had a wonderful assortment of seating with plugs available. I ordered an ice tea from Jamez, who was sympathetic to my plug needs and pointed out a good one! I got my tea cup ( I was in too much of a hurry to get the tea) and grabbed the spot. While I was sitting there, a smiling server came by with a free, warm, chocolate chip cookie and a napkin, which was a treat. The place was buzzing and busy and no one broke a sweat! Great service-now if Panera would renovate ( the leather chairs are taking a beating), this place would be a five! read more

Panera Bread.. perfection. :) The environment is so beautiful with the way they set up the restaurant. It is always very clean and kept up to date. It is so much nicer then any fast food place and just a couple bucks more to spend, and It is so worth it. One thing i especially love is how fresh the food always is. The breads, sourdough breadbowls, the fruits, ect. My personal favorite is to get French Onion soup in a sourdough bread bowl with more bread on the side. If you havent already, try dipping the extra bread in your soup- yummy. :) For sides- fresh apples or kettle chips are offered. No calories there, just a great decison. It tastes fresh, the broth brings out a wonderful flavor, and I love the fresh baked croutons that come separately wrapped to sprinkle on top. My other fav is the Frontega Chicken, on ciabatta Bread with sliced mozzarella cheese, tomato and some chopped basil. Instead of the chipotle mayo that comes with it I ask for the Balsamic Vinagrette instead. Its fragrant, yet has that herby sweet-and-sour taste I like in my sandwich. For sides, fresh apples or kettle chips are offered. No fries! You're forced to make a calorie saving but tasty decision. You won't regret it. read more

Worst location by a mile. I travel a lot for work and love Panera. Its great to know what your going to get, their always clean, free wifi (when you can connect) etc etc. This location is AWFUL. I've been to it twice now. Never again. Horribly managed. The 2nd time I went in, they were so disorganized, I waited 20 minutes for my order before finally getting mad and just walking out. The coffee is some of the most underrated coffee i've ever had. They have multiple options and the chocolate chip muffin top is one of their best kept secrets. I always get the bacon turkey bravo along with the broccoli and cheddar soup. This location has apple pay and kiosk for convenience. Its a pretty busy location but with all the options for ordering including the drive through, it tends to be pretty fast. My five is based on comparison with other sandwich shops. read more

This is a standard Panera bread. I've only ever had oe problem here and that was with a new employee. They are typically quick. The line is rarely that long. It's not the largest Panera there ever was, but there is certainly enough space for people to linger and do work without feeling like a douche. read more

This is my second time ordering delivery from this Panera and the second time they've completely ignored my order and left out items that I PAYED for. I call the restaurant, follow their automated prompts to connect with the manager and the phone rings forever and then goes to dial tone. Is there a manager there? I wouldn't know because they ignore the phone. The first time I called and just went to place another delivery so I could talk to SOMEONE and get my food. It took another 40 minutes to come. This time, the worker connected me to their customer service team and they emailed me a gift card. I appreciate the effort to reconcile but I'm still left without the food I ordered. I love Panera's food. I have been eating here for years, food and service was always good. Until recently. Lately the Lathrup Village Panera has gone way DOWN HILL. I called to place a rapid pickup order, and the person answered the phone put me on hold and NEVER came back to the phone. Then I went in to place my order and they said they were out of broccoli cheese soup. This is the 2nd time in a row (Lathrup village) ran out of broccoli cheese soup. How? I have never heard of Panera running out of broccoli soup!!! So how does this location run out 2 times in 1 month? So I asked for a manager. If I could give it 0 stars I would. This is the worst Panera Bread I've ever been to. I live in the area so I've visited it several times and each time there has been an issue with my order or the customer service has been poor. Today I placed an order on the online app which was supposed to be ready for Curbside pickup at 7 pm. I checked in and sat in my car for 10 mins before coming into the store to request an update on my order. Only after I come in do they tell me that they don't have the bread for my sandwich. It's currently 7:23 and I'm still waiting, inside, for my order. If this was an isolated incident I would have more patience but unfortunately this is just one of many and I will NOT be returning to this location. Issues like this are why I have been driving out of my way to order from other locations. I would not, by any means recommend this location to anyone. I usually love Panera and have no issues, but today was awful. I ordered a large order online and understand it takes an hour. I was there on time and had to wait even longer and then half of my order was in shambles. This Panera location is always A1... but today... on my birthday... they really went above and beyond! I am at home sick and finally began to get hungry. My husband is at work so I decided to place an online order since they now deliver . Long story short I added in the delivery notes "Beware, at home sick on my birthday". Lol yeah I probably did it just for attention and hoping that someone would feel bad for me . To my surprise the young lady who delivered my food (and I should mention it was only about a 10-15 minute wait) greeted me with "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" told me that her managed had written a special note for me and also gifted me a bday cookie. My food was AMAZING! I ordered the Southwest Chicken Tortilla Bowl that was loaded with flavor and the Cobb Salad was so fresh and tasty!
