Ive been to plenty of panera breads before, but this time was an interesting experience. Upon arrival and in the middle of ordering, another customer had ordered a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup. The soup she got in the bowl of soup almost looked as if it was less than a cup of soup. The customer was upset by this. Upon receiving our cups of soup, the bowl definitely did not come close to the cup of soup. I had gotten a bread bowl and chicken noodle soup. The soup was cold and it took a longer time than usual to receive our food. My family was with me and they had got the pick two with half of sandwiches. My wife was trying to get the green goddess sandwich and was told they no longer make this item however they now have a green goddess salad. The sandwiches have gotten smaller over the years, the half almost looks like a quarter now. The location itself was in rough shape, we got there around 6pm. Most tables were not cleaned off and there was noticeable dirt throughout the location on the floor. This is my definite go to the store for the new fresh strawberry basil lemonade they really know how to make it keep it even so that you don't have overpowering flavors of one thing or the other people are always friendly, and your order is always ready on time when you put your order especially online they definitely come. It's right there when you say you don't get it. I think all the times I've been getting all the different items. I was in town visiting my parents. I asked my mom where she wanted to go for lunch and, even with the huge variety of unique eateries, she chose Panera. Straight off, I'll tell you that I wasn't on board. My local Paneras is dirty, the orders are always wrong and the food just passable. I avoid it as much as I can. This time though, I was pleasantly surprised. Mom ordered the tuna on focaccia and tomato soup. I was a little grumpy and just ordered a basic half and half - tomato soup and grilled cheese. I ordered, paid, got our drinks and waited for my buzzer to scream. When I went to get our food, I was looking at two large platters where perched were bowls of hot liquid. The manager, Jenny, happened to be standing there and offered a much needed hand. My grilled cheese definitely could have used a little more "grilling" but it was cheesy and melty. My soup was basic tomato and I liked the croutons on top. My Panera adds shaved Parmesan cheese which was unfortunately missing. My mom deconstructed her sandwich (don't ask, I type while rolling my eyes) and pretty much wiped the soup bowl clean with the guts of her baguette. Everything about our visit was good. I have not been overly impressed by this location in the past. The remodel looks nice. I ordered a pb&j and when I I opened the bag it was completely smushed. I have also ordered the grilled cheese which was cold when I picked it up 3mins before the scheduled pickup time. I like the open space for dining in which accommodates large groups. This Panera's recently went through a complete remodel/reorganization and although mistakes still happen often I can only see things improving in the future. For one: this location finally added the discontinued Sierra Turkey to their "secret menu". If you have a discontinued favorite ask! The chipotle mayo that comes with it must be back to it's original recipe as it's not an oily mess like our last visit. The floor plan changed slightly and more self-ordering kiosks were added. No more butt in diners face while waiting in a line that snakes around the dining room. Order online thru their app and they'll deliver to your table. Each table is numbered so they can find you. In fact whether you place your order with someone live, thru their app, or through their kiosk all food is delivered to your table - no more standing awkwardly blocking the way. The new décor is tasteful and more on trend, although less intimate and more exposed than the old set up, but they still have the fireplace! Cons: prices have increased but do sign up for loyalty as I scored $2 off my "you pick two" yesterday and frequently get offers, including freebies. They still make mistakes. A " you pick two" is supposed to come with half a sandwich, mine came with a whole, their mistake my gain :) The employees are so busy delivering to the tables that the trash cans are often overlooked. Piled up dishes are commonplace. I do wish they would clear the tables as well as it's hard to maneuver your trash and pick your silver wear out so it doesn't get discarded. Worth noting: While logging onto their wifi I didn't get the 30 minute limit notice like in the past - perhaps now it's unlimited? read more

Verdict: It's a Panera. What can I say? I guess this is a nice one, as far as they go. The cinnamon raisin bagel isn't bad. None of the bagels are, which is saying something for a chain. There's not much to be said about the food because this is a chain, after all. If you've been to one Panera, you've pretty much been to them all where the food is concerned. It's not the healthiest option but I will say that the Frontega Chicken panini is a pretty good sandwich. This particular location has a good amount of parking and seating. It feels comfortable inside and I've had a good experience each time I've visited over the years. If you're so inclined and want a cold desert, there's a good ice cream place just next door. I think there's a liquor store after that so you could make a full night with a single stop. read more

I order delivery from this Panera at least once every two weeks. They are quick with their delivery always. I ordered lunch for a friend and myself and, after checking my order, I realized that the bread bowl I ordered was not in there. It was quite odd as I've ordered from Panera Delivery before and everything has been all good! I called up the store to ask them to waive the bread bowl off of our meal and instead, the manager said that they would cover my meal for that day. It was quite nice of him to do that since it was quite a hefty check for two people. While this was a once in a while occurrence, I find that this Panera Bread is quite reliable for the location. They are almost always able to make our special requests for extra lettuce or cilantro, but when they do not have the ingredients, they offer us a free dessert item or call us in advance to ensure our preferences are met. The delivery drivers are always on time and quite friendly. When I order in, everything is also up to the same standards and employees are friendly. I gave four stars because they are a bit pricier, but that isn't anything this location can do to adjust it. read more

Love Panera-- just not this one. Every time I order a bakery item with my meal off of the kiosk, it never comes to my table. Staff isn't friendly, asking for a bakery item that I ordered on the kiosk seemed like a chore and inconvenience to them. Staff threw my order down at my table and said "Here" and just walked off. I'd say order from the kiosk so you don't have to interact with the miserable staff, but not all your food comes when you order from the kiosk. I also don't think I've ever seen a properly clean table here, or a table without crumbs, mysterious sticky liquids, or napkins and trash. Hands down the WORST Panera I've ever been to. What I got looked like it was frozen for about 10 years, dried out in the Sahara desert, threw a spoonful of brown sugar on, threw on like 4 slices of strawberries, and put 3 pecans on it. I am very dissatisfied in my meal. It was so dry that I needed to add milk to it. The original oatmeal itself was also warm, not hot, warm. I have been to Panera many times in many locations. Upon receiving my meal, I was about to use my knife and realized it was filthy. Dirty caked on food on both sides of the blade. I decided no big deal and I walked up to get another knife. Upon telling the gentleman who served my food and the woman behind the counter making and plating food that my knife was not clean, he apologized , and she told me firmly it was because their water was hard? She took the knife and polished it up with her apron and I really think she was going to give it back to me. She instead handed another knife to the male server who looked at it himself and said the second knife was dirty as well. She then proceeded to hand him the box of knives and told him " here. You have 3 knives to choose from". I walked away at that point. Worst customer service. Let me preface this by saying I love the Panera brand and this restaurant on Fruitville Pike is lovely, spacious and contemporary. I arrived at 4:30 PM on a Friday and the restaurant was virtually empty. I ordered a grilled cheese with a frozen lemonade. It took quite awhile to be delivered to my table and I was on a work schedule. When my sandwich arrived it was without my drink. I had to ask for my drink. The on-site manager seemed somewhat put-out. My sandwich was absolutely the WORST grilled cheese I have ever had. It was not hot and the crust was barely toasted. I didn't have time to send it back. Prior to leaving I heard the manager apologizing to other customers for the lateness of their orders. This, while the restaurant was full of young chatting employees. Two things: It seems as though this Panera's needs better management training and better employee training. In the meantime I recommend the new Panera' on Rohrerstown Road in Lancaster. read more

I've been here a couple of times before this and it's always a wonderful experience when I come here. I had lunch here with my sister on our break and we had a wonderful time. The line went by quickly and the food was up just as quick. I got the whole Mac and cheese with bread and my sister got the same thing but the half and she also got soup and everything was fantastic! The best Mac and cheese I've eaten and you get what you pay for, it's very filling. The only complaint I have is the bread was a little hard, but still good! My sister said her meal was amazing as well. The workers are also very friendly and helpful. I went to empty my tray and an older gentleman said he'd get it for me. All that you had to do was make change in a reasonable amount of time and I would have gotten my breakfast sammiches. But no, it took you 30 minutes to make change for two people, not 30 people, not 20 people, not ten people freakin two! That is 30 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. You know what I could have done in thirty minutes?
