Stopped by this location for a quick bite before heading to Sights and Sounds Theater. I really like the layout and the decor of the location. It is bright and cheerful. There is also a big tv screen that lists the names of the customers and the status of their orders. There is a nice ding every time an order is ready. No one needs to shout out loud for any customer's attention to pick up the order. Food was as always very yummy. Staff members were very friendly. Definitely one of the better locations I have visited. read more

Getting ready to go to a concert at American Music Theater and we tried 3 restaurants which told us there was an hour wait ( one of them had a slew of empty tables!) so, we came to Panera. The counter person, Jacob was friendly and helpful and when I changed my mind they said it was no problem and just fixed the order. I ordered a half of the new toasted garden caprese which had two pieces of mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, basil and a balsamic drizzle delish but could have used more filling. The creamy tomato soup was terrific, as usual. DH had the ciabatta cheese steak. He really liked it. I love the orange ginger and mint hot tea. Great choice and the pastries were half price if you ordered a meal and a beverage so of course, we had to! The orange scone was terrific but could have used some clotted cream, or butter. Ordered bagels in the evening for pick up the next morning at Panera Rockvale on rt 30. Arrived at drive thru to pick up at planned time and was told they didnt have my order. Krista said catering orders came in the night before so my order wasnt filled. The worse part is no one even had the courtesy to call and tell us. I love me some Panera bread, even though most locations get my order wrong. This one does it less than the others and honors the Sierra turkey from the secret menu. However it does get crowded and has a strange dining layout hence the 4 star review. This review is short and sweet because there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said of Panera's. They're more expensive than other sandwhich places but deliver a fresh and tasty product. I like the loyality perks and the you pick twos. The seasonal offerings are also worth checking out. The negatives are they rarely ever get your order right. Sometimes the sauces are inconsistant in flavor. Because I always order off the secret menu the self ordering system they push you to use doesn't work for me. Regardless Panera's will always be one of my favorite go-tos for a quick bite. read more

They get 2 stars because we came when they first opened at 7:00 am so the place was at least clean. The rest of the experience was abysmal. OK, so three of us for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We stopped in and placed our orders. One of us ordered oatmeal and OJ, one a breakfast sandwich, pastry and coffee, and one a cup of fruit with OJ and coffee. First, no creamer for the coffee and no raw sugar. OK, so they weren't stocked upon first opening. Strike one. Strike two - the breakfast sandwich and the oatmeal arrived, but no fruit. After about 10 minutes, my cousin went and asked where his fruit was. He was told they were out of two of the fruits used in the fruit cup. OK, so either make the cup without those fruits, offer something else or give a refund. Cousin sits down. The two of us who got our food finish our breakfasts - still no fruit cup. My other cousin goes up and asks what is going on. She gets mumbles and excuses. She asks for the manager since it has been 30 minutes and still no fruit cup. Yes, 30 minutes. For fruit. A few minutes goes by and someone comes to the table to explain again that it would just be a few minutes since they were now going to cut the fruit they had. We asked if the person was the manager and she said no. We asked again for the manager who finally found his way through the empty dining room to us. We expressed our irritation and one of the staff finally brings the darn fruit cup. That is strike three. Bottom line - the management at this place has horrible skills at both managing a restaurant and in customer service. A refund should have been offered at the very least or a free pastry, gift card, something!! And if you can't schedule enough staff to fully prepare to stock and open the restaurant, get out of the restaurant business. We will definitely NOT be back and we strongly recommend you find another place to eat as well. read more

Great service! Food was great as always, as well as ambiance. Love that the the new drive thru location in Rockvale Outlets has outdoor seatings. Kirsten is to be commended. She was the only person manning the registers on a busy Labor Day weekend, and she is grace under pressure. I remember her from the prior location (before they opened the driv thru Panera) and she is always helpful, pleasant, courteous; definitely a top notch employee! This place is a joke. Tons of employees working there, but yet you still stand in line for like 20 minutes waiting to order pay. Then when you insert your credit card, it asks how much of a tip I'd like to leave! For what? I'm ordering at a counter and picking up at another counter. And it gets worse from here. Theres like 10 people gathering around the "pick up" counter waiting for their food. After 15 minutes and seeing people that ordered after me get there food and leave or sit down, I go up and ask the guy if my order is coming out. After a few confused minutes, he comes back and says it will be right out. A few minutes later (total 30 mins) they call my name, I grab the bag and leave. Big mistake not checking the order. I don't know if they were pissed that I inquired about the order or what, but it was all jacked up. I ordered the full steak and cheddar sandwich, got a really gross looking and soggy tuna salad sandwich. I didn't even try it. It went right in the trash. My daughter received only the Caesar salad part of her pick 2 lunch. The soup was completely missing. My wife's half chicken Caesar salad was missing the chicken. So out the three items, none of them were right and a lot of stuff was missing. I am not driving 15 minutes back to this store and waiting god knows how long for them to try to get it right. I called the store and there is no answer. So then I tried to email the corporate to see if it's anything they can do. I'd like to be compensated for the entire order which was close to $40, and they managed to screw up the entire thing. Just had a most disagreeable time/rapid order at this Panera Bread. Placed my order on my ipad, which I had done the day before without incident. My order wasn't in the rapid order pickup bin, so I went to the regular pickup counter. I was told they didn't have those orders there and I had to stand in line and ask. So I did that, as it was busy I waited about 20 mins to get to the front of the line, and they said they didn't have my order. That was it. No, we are sorry but we can take your order now if you want. No, sorry it didn't go through, let's make this right for you. They turned the other way and basically said can I help who is next. They were rude. Since I didn't bring my ipad with me, I had to go back to my bed and breakfast (no breakfast because of Covid, but a lovely Inn and worth staying at if you are looking for a place to stay) the Silverstone Inn. Looked on my ipad and there was my order. So, I went back to the Panera Bread to show them the order. I waited in line. They saw me standing in line but said nothing. After about a ten min wait I got to the front of the line and they said, oh, you order just came through a second ago. You can wait over there and we will get it to you. I then see multiple people go back up and say, you forgot to give me my pastry... I waited another 15 mins and they finally give me a bag with my order and sort of sarcastically say "sorry for your wait". When I got back to my bed and breakfast, I found my breakfast sandwich was put in a paper wrapper, not a box and pieces of the sandwich were disassembled in the bag (not a huge problem as it was easy to put back together but they could have shown more care when packing the bag). I would have given one star, but the food is good. However the service today was sloppy, slow and rude. read more

We can't blame the staff here for the mediocore, overpriced food. That's the fault of the corporation. And the few staff members I interacted with seemed both pleasant and efficient. I won't even fault them for forgetting my side of baugette, as they were busy and, frankly, my waistline doesn't need it anyway. But someone, somewhere in that store, is not doing their job in an adequate manner. I've eaten in more Paneras than I like to admit, and most are large, welcoming, and have plenty of staff clearing and wiping tables. Again, not the fault of the staff, but this Panera was small and cramped, with no seating for parties larger than four. A quick glance around showed many dirty tables (we wiped ours before sitting down), dirty floors, and various bits of trash and debris scattered in a variety of locations. The ladies room was filthy, including unmentionable smears on the toilet. My experience went like this..order at the counter (like fast food joints) out comes the bill asking do you want to leave a tip. Uhh, for what? No I didnt want to since I feel like self service i do not tip. You pick up your own food order, you bus your own table, you have no say on how they make my food at least at Subway if the food preparer adds extra to your order, you feel like giving them a tip of appreciation, thanks for those extras!. I love Panera's food; that is a given, but the customer service is awesome at the Covered Bridge location. Kristen and Bonnie were wonderful! They were both so friendly and knowledgeable :) I don't know the names of the people preparing the food, but they were incredibly efficient as well. If you're familiar with Panera's menu, you'll have a typical experience here. That's the benefit of chains - more predictability - and while this location is adequate, it's nothing to write home about. Just a standard Panera. Lunch hours during the week can get pretty busy, and it's worse in the summer months, when outlet tourists are creeping around route 30 looking for something to eat. That makes tables hard to come by. Outdoor seating is available when the weather is nice, but beware the noise level is pretty high because of the proximity to the highway. The staff is friendly and does its best to keep the line moving at a good pace, but don't expect miracles. This is just a standard Panera, after all. read more

One thing I didn't like was when I paid I was given the option to "tip" on my credit card. Well in case you pay cash don't worry there is also a tip jar. Love Panera Bread. Have gone to many and was happy with my experience each time until today. The cashier was unfriendly at best. They were out of decaf and med roast and this girl couldn't care less. I had to ask the manager for something other than my finger to stir our coffee. We each ordered a bagel, with one being toasted. After about10 minutes I went to see about our order. It hadn't even been processed. I sensed it was punishment for complaining. The untoasted bagel, the blueberry one was so tough it was almost uneatable. I've been to Panera loads of times, but not this one. After reading many terrible reviews here on Yelp, my expectations were not high going into this but at the time I was on a detox where I could only eat fruits and vegetables and Panera is one of the few quick places that goes out of its way to serve healthy food. Since I usually order sandwiches at Panera, I didn't really know what I wanted when I stepped in line. I ended up moving to the side and pulled my phone out to look at Panera's website for better menu descriptions. Upon doing this, the manager quickly came over to me and gave me a menu I could look at instead of waiting for my phone to load. When I ordered, the cashier made sure to ask if I wanted chips, an apple, or bread as my side. It is rare Panera asks me this question and it was very welcomed as I don't like the chips and often forget to ask for an apple or bread instead. When I was finished eating, a woman came to my table and asked if I was finished and then proceeded to remove my plate from the table. Overall, I'd say I had an extremely positive experience. In fact, this Panera went above and beyond to make sure I had a pleasant experience. So this is my advice to those who came to Yelp and see a lot of negative reviews. DON'T BELIEVE THEM. Most of the reviews are people venting about their own bad days that have nothing to do with this Panera restaurant. One review actually complains about screaming children. Dude, that's not Panera's fault and doesn't belong in a review. Another complains about her tuna sandwich having barely any tuna. Go back inside and complain. They would have remade the sandwich and probably thrown in something extra. Another complains that this felt like a fast food experience. Hey man, news flash, it is fast food. Costs more? Yeah, probably because the food is higher quality. Go to a grocery store and you will notice the healthier food is more expensive than the junk. This isn't rocket science.
