Update: the black bean soup was really good. Reminded me of Chili's black beans. I've wanted to try their black beans, so today when the Sipper Club special was $3.00 off soup I thought it would be a good time to try their black beans originally priced at $8.99/ bowl. I ordered for drive-thru pickup and my order was hot and ready on time. I got home and emptied the bag and was disappointed in the size of the soup container. From a few past experiences at Panera bread I found them to be very courteous good food at a reasonable price. They do have specials for two people where you can eat there for around $30 versus $60 at most other restaurants. This time I decided to go with the half Fuji apple chicken salad and the half toasted garden caprese sandwich, the choose two meal. The sandwich had Melty fresh mozzarella, vine ripen tomato, chopped basil, crisp Romain and lettuce blend sprinkled with salt and pepper and a balsamic vinaigrette along with a garlic aioli drizzle on a ciabatta bread. So good I wish I got a whole, but my salad as always was the highlight. Mixed screens, crisp Romain and lettuce blend tossed in a sweet, white balsamic vinaigrette top with chicken that was grilled, grape tomatoes, red onions, toasted pecan pieces, feta cheese, and apple crisps. Just writing this review is making my mouth water. Needless to say, this is one of my go to spots for a nice quite meal, and your never rushed out!! Bathroom could have been cleaned a little better and the dining room table and floor had some debris on it. Just missed a 5 star by these two issues. read more

Mom's 1st time to Panera Bread in the Oakleaf area. Location was clean, and fairly empty around 2pm. She got half a tuna sandwich and chicken noodle soup, and said that it was delicious! Stopped in yesterday for breakfast bc I wanted an everything bagel. I tried to order at the self serve kiosk but it would not take my card so I ordered at the front counter when I was able to get the attention of one of the team members. I ordered two everything bagels sliced and toasted with scallion cream cheese. I was surprised to learn that the cream cheese costs almost as much as the bagel. Every time I go to this Panera they seem to not understand that they can fill the large Mac up to the top. I have been refunded, come back and got more and this just keeps happening so many times it's like how.. leaving an inch of room at the top is literally 2-3 scoops more Mac. Not to mention how expensive it is for it just coming out of a bag. Only complaint. I don't understand why it's such an issue for them. I've always had great service and good food at this location. The sandwich today was melt in your mouth good, fresh soft brioche, creamy yolk, tangy cheese and crisp bacon! The lobby is open for eat-in but I ordered to-go as I have things to get done. Don't try to eat this while driving or you'll be wearing it on the front of your shirt. Lol P.S. I used to LOVE Panera. I do not like the new location or new menus. At the new location it is not as cleaned as often as the old location. Every time I go there are dirty tables. Employees used to be nicer also. They usually look mad or depressed now. And the girls that work the register now only work the register. They don't move to clean or do anything else that I have seen. They just stand there and talk. Why do you need two people to take orders when nobody is in line. At least on could clear a table or wipe one off. I also do not like the new menu. Seems like the got rid of a lot of things I assume to lower costs. Less selection of bagels and flavored cream cheese. For lunch and dinner it may be me, but are the pushing avacado everything. My wife loves it, but I will not eat anything it has touched. We have gone to other places for breakfast now and finally stopped dinner. I wish the old Panera was back. At least old menu. We could order take out and not put up with rude filth. We will try again in a few months, but all our friends have stopped going for same reasons. Wonder why they don't open their eyes to what is going on in their own restaurants. read more

We ordered sandwiches and a coffee. The dark roast was out, and we asked the cashier for more. After we go our meal, she brought out a pot, but it was.empty. We pointed that out. She told us she would get another. About 10 minutes later we were told 5 more minutes. We finally got our coffee well after our meal was finished, and we had cleaned our table. Panera advertises themselves as a cafe, and this is not acceptable for a cafe. They should be checking the coffee pots and not allowing the customers to do this work for them. It's a very nice upgrade. They definitely needed a bigger space. They have plenty of outdoor seating too and I love that they now have a drive thru! When we walked in we ordered from the self checkout. It was very easy to use. After we ordered we looked for somewhere to sit, but literally every single table that was empty was dirty! Food crumbs and drink spills on every empty table. What is up with that?! It wasn't even busy inside so there is no excuse as to why no employees had cleaned the tables. Anyways, I ordered a turkey sandwich and a summer salad. I didn't even realize until now that it was supposed to have chicken, but that's okay because I actually liked the salad much better without it. The last time I had it the chicken was mushy. The turkey sandwich I believe was chicken. It did not taste like turkey at all. However, I still ate it because I did not want to go back and change it again. Before that, I had to take my moms sandwich back because they gave her a ham sandwich when she ordered a turkey with avocado and bacon. So that's 2 sandwiches that were wrong. The best part about this visit was the company I was with! I got the everything bagel which I have to say their bagels are not the greatest with the egg spinach and avocado. With regard to the avocado it was like a quarter of a teaspoon if that on the very top where the hole is for the bagel that was it I thought it would have been a sliced avocado throughout this sandwich. Nobody was at the counter so I had to use the self service kiosk. My name was never called and I only got a text that my food was ready and I had to pick it up myself. I got soup in a bread bowl and my wife got a salad. There was about half a ladle of soup in the bread bowl about 4 bites worth and it was incredibly tiny. This place is terrible. It's a brand new location after it moved out from the shopping center to a stand alone location. The meal cost 25 dollars and it wasn't worth it at all. I'd have paid 3 bucks for this bowl . Today me and my wife patronized the new location of Panera Bread located in the Oakleaf Town Center. The new location doubled in size which was added touch. However, the food didn't match the decorum. I ordered two chicken and almond salad sandwich that lacked flavor, and to add insult to our purchase, I found that it was load up with tomatoes and arugula with a very small portion of chicken salad on a large rye bread. We get delivery about 90% of the time that we get Panera Bread, mainly because it's very convenient and I don't want to leave the house. There is a $3 charge for delivery but it's worth it. They are always on time or even a few minutes early! We don't have to wait in line and we have never had an order wrong in all the times we've ordered from them. Drivers are always polite and fast, so we always tip. And if you have the app, ordering is super easy and you even get "specials" frequently, like a free drink, $2 off pick two, etc. My favorite is the Southwest chile lime ranch salad with chicken and the turkey avocado BLT sandwich, but I've never had a bad meal from there. My kids like the Mac'n'cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. Frontega chicken panini is delicious as well. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how neat and clean this Panera was. Not that I ahave ever been inside of a dirty one. Some Panera locations are "ok".. This one particular one was bright and clean! I liked the set up very much. It is very welcoming and cozy. I could see myself settling in with a book or my laptop here for a few hours! Others, not so much.
