Quick fast hibachi at a low cost. The flavor is so good and vegetables are cooked to perfection. I love it.

I consider it a treat to eat at Flame Broiler whenever I am in the Oakleaf area. They have 3 other locations in Jacksonville, but this is the closest location I can get to. I find it to be a healthy choice to eat at despite the chain being dubbed as fast food. No skin meat. It is not fried, and there are no trans-fat. The meats (chicken and beef) are all-natural. What more could you ask for? And there's something about their Magic Sauce, which you can you can add to the meats that just elevates the taste to a whole new level. So so delicious. I find Flame Broiler to be a healthy fast food alternative. The staff here are always friendly and the food is always cooked just right.

Just wanted a healthy and quick meal. There were no customers in the restaurant. The employees acted irritated that I chose to eat there. I ordered two bowls with half beef, half chicken. It took more than 10 minutes to give me my food, with no other customers. The cost for two bowls was $25. I got home and started eating it and realized that some of my meat was completely raw. Very disappointing experience. I try this place about once a year hoping it will get better, and it hasn't yet.

This was my first visit to Flame Broiler and it was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the all white meat chicken bowl with brown rice and extra veggies. It was yummy. I put their signature sauce on it which made it even better. I wish I would have known that you could get green onions added but didn't see that until I was almost done with it. My sister ordered the half and half with chicken and beef with brown rice and extra veggies. She went back up for extra cabbage and they gave her some no questions asked. If you are in search of a good, healthy place to get some great food Flame Broiler is the place to go. I guarantee you will enjoy it.

I'm pretty indifferent about this place. Didn't like it as much or hate it, just wasn't memorable. I had the beef bowl with steamed veggies and brown rice. I like the healthy concept and that most of the ingredients were fresh. The beef was a little dry and tough in my opinion. The flavor on the beef was decent but didn't remind me of any Korean bbq flavors. I tried the super spicy sauce and it wasn't spicy at all. My fiance had the combo bowl with chicken and beef and he seemed to like it alot. Service was really good and the cashier knew the menu well.

Oh I loves me some Flame Broiler. It's nothing fancy. Very simple. Reminds me of mall food. Love that it's a healthier option for fast food. The sauce makes the dish for me.

The lunch meal today was half and half; chicken & beef, with veggies instead of rice. I paid more for white chicken. I also paid for some magic sauce, since the reviews I read was that was the bomb. So I ordered it and agreed! I ordered side of chicken for my Yorkie, Queenie Mae. She loved it! I gave her some of my beef too. She has left over for later. We both were satisfied and loved the meal today. Thanks for a fine lunch for my first try at Flame Broiler! I highly recommend for organic healthly lovers as myself and for your doggies too.

Half chicken, half steak with rice and veg. Tasty, quick and cheap.

The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

We ordered the squid stir fry and pork ribs, and the flavors were great, but there were some differences in the dishes. Squid stir fry: This dish was incredible--definitely the best in Jacksonville. The squid was tender and perfectly cooked, not chewy at all. The stir fry had an amazing balance of spices, and there were no fillers like rice cakes or too many vegetables drowning out the squid's flavor. The dish was packed with flavor, and each bite was a combination of savory, spicy, and a slight sweetness that complemented the seafood perfectly. It was the standout dish of the meal and one I'll definitely be coming back for. Pork ribs: While the ribs were tender, they were too sweet for my liking, and the flavor felt a bit one-dimensional. The sauce was heavy on the sweetness, which made the ribs feel a little cloying after a while. They could benefit from a bit more balance with some acidity or spice. In terms of portions, Kim's Korean BBQ is generous. The rice comes in a half bowl, so you'll need to order more if you're craving extra, and the Bonchon (fried chicken) is only available with a full meal or as an additional charge, which is something to keep in mind. The prices are on the pricier side, especially when compared to other Korean places in town, but the taste and authenticity make it worth it. The owners are Korean and will speak to you in Korean if you're comfortable with the language. The staffing was a little overwhelmed, as the lady owner seemed to be doing most of the work, and at one point, you could hear her directing her husband at the register to assist with various tasks. This led to a bit of a longer wait for the food, but it was understandable given that they were a bit understaffed. One thing I really appreciated was the cleanliness of the place. Kim's is one of the cleaner Korean restaurants in the area, which is always a plus. Despite the staffing hiccups and the slightly sweet pork ribs, the overall experience was great. I'll definitely be coming back for that squid stir fry and to try more of their authentic dishes!

Whenever I leaned toward a 4, I found…read morethat I needed to leave out my feelings about fighting with the food I eat, which is difficult for me! But that's on me, not the restaurant. And the food, of which this is a hot pot cook and serve yourself full service restaurant has to be considered in my scoring and graded on that. Now, speaking of service, it was outstanding from the door greeter, our server, and having an opportunity to speak with the manager, I will say that the courtesy and attention to detail was evident throughout the eating cooking and eating experience. It has been a few years since I had eaten in this type of restaurant, and being it was my birthday, I kind of said "Oh no!" To myself as I knew what I was in for. But with the psychological game I was playing inside my head, I instantly made a shift and determined to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. It worked! Except my dearest was having difficulty chewing the meat. But again this was not due to the quality of the meats we chose, it was something else. But the food was very good. I loved the appetizers that came with our dinner at the start. I'm scared to eat kimchi because it's often fire on my tongue! But not this time - there was a little heat in most of the appetizers, but nothing that I couldn't handle. It's good to see the restaurant holding back some of the heat to help those who desire less burn from the taste. Now the meats we had all cooked well and timely in the pot. They did sneak a little Mexican in the meat choices with the pollo (chicken) asado! They had al pastor as well, and thought I had ordered it, but it didn't show up. Now, I would say on the pollo asado offering that I felt the spicing was a little too heavy. It was good and I do miss Mexican cuisine from my years in San Diego. We also had pork belly, which I didn't try because I don't eat pork, but it was a good looking option for those who do like it. Now I will say that I did really like the beef bulgogi - was nicely marinated and pretty tender and not overly chewy. Now, I will say that there were only two of us, but I think we would have fared better being in a group of four or more. I will say that the large padded seating booths are pretty awesome! We needed a lot of room to set all the appetizers and choices we made. I also wish I had gotten to try the carne asada and al pastor. But that's for another day :D I do love the ambiance of Gen Korean BBQ. It's modern in appearance. The spacing is good and it's very well-managed and the care in cleanliness is highly visible. It wasn't a busy time when we visited Gen, but we got to see others enjoying their meals here - and most clearly were large groups that seemed to know the drill better that we did at this type of restaurant. With Gen being in Town Center, I have to finally say that the price of the meal was very reasonable, especially when you have a complete menu to choose many items from. It was impressive. If you like Korean BBQ and restaurants of this type, you owe it to yourself to make a visit (and try to get a small group together to go with you)! Recommend: HIGH

The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. I really wanted - and should've ordered - the Korean hot dog...next time. This place has great customer service and packaging.
