I just wanted a little something to eat so we stopped in and tried the Bap Bowl. Which is inside the international market. The food was quick, but not too quick and it was hot. Fresh vegetables had good texture. It was very very good. And I usually don't like kimchi, but I'm gonna tell you there's is awesome. We got the Beef Bulgogi. Which is noodles, vegetables, and beef, and it was incredibly good.

pork belly bulgogi with rice

We decided to try this place since it was in the same food court as the other food vendors. It's located at RD international food market. The food court area itself is very clean, bright, and we were able to find a table even though it was super packed. My husband ordered the Pork Belly Bulgogi and it came out on a sizzling hot plate with mozzarella cheese on top. It came with steamed, white rice as well. It's honestly one of the better food options in the food court. The flavor of the pork belly bulgogi was pretty good and we enjoyed the marinade on it. Pros: Lots of pork belly slices, great bulgogi flavor, comes with rice, and even though we were both full, the flavor, fat, umami, and richness of the pork belly was way too delicious for us to pass on. We kept eating the pork belly and the rice really soaks up all the flavors from the marinade. The added onions added a really nice flavor and textural element with the pork. I loved the mozzarella cheese on top too. The creaminess and mild flavor of the mozzarella cheese went well with the fatty pork belly. Cheese and meat usually are a good combination. Our food came out pretty quick too! Cons: super greasy since it's fatty, needs some type of pickled veggie or something with acidity to cut down the richness of the pork, and the price was a little expensive. For $23, I don't know if it was worth purchasing again. I felt as if the pork belly could have used some side veggies or soup as it was missing something, like something fresh. We felt super heavy after finishing the meal. At most Korean restaurants and food stands, they usually will give you some banchan (side dishes) with your entrée. I hope this place would consider it! Overall, the flavors were really good, but it was pricey so I don't know if we would be back again. For $23, you could go to a Korean restaurant and get the entrée, banchan, rice or even do AYCE Korean BBQ. Maybe if we were in the area and super hungry, we will probably get it again. Neutral and okay feelings on this place as they have room to improve for sure! For now, they nailed it on the marinade and flavors.

Pay first for the custom bowl. That's why you're coming here be honest. Try a bit of everything. Kinda weird but whatever, maybe people choose not to pay and they waste food idk. They put sauces and oil without discretion at the end so be forewarned, once it's on it won't come off. Good prices. It's in the grocery store so it didn't show up on the map when I looked for a spot for dinner. It works, tastes good. Definitely not healthy but it's spicy and flavorful. Customer service is same as fast food so don't expect much and you'll be fine. No real issues other than didn't expect to pay up front but that's how fast food works. Oh and the surprise sauce stuff. Ample seating and you can get your shopping in too.

Pork Belly Bulgogi over rice.

I recently visited the RD International Food Court in Jacksonville, Florida, and decided to try Bap Bowl Korean. The food court itself is fairly clean and organized, which made for a pleasant dining experience. I was intrigued by the menu and am already planning to return for the rose honey wings and/or the chocolate wings, which caught my eye even though I'm not sure if they are Asian-inspired dishes or sauces. For this visit, I opted for the combo with pork belly bulgogi and kimchi over rice. While I wished the pork was sliced a bit thicker--it almost looked like marinated pre-sliced bacon--the flavor was absolutely wonderful! The bulgogi marinade/sauce delivered amazing flavors, and the caramelized onions and sesame seeds complemented the steamed rice perfectly. My only minor complaint is that the kimchi was served in a very small separate container. It had a nice numbing kick to it, and I would have loved a bit more! There was also a small container of what I believe to be cucumber tea. It was pleasant, but since I had already grabbed a beverage from another place in the food court, it slightly altered the taste experience I was having. Overall, Bap Bowl Korean offers a flavorful and enjoyable dining experience, I look forward to trying more items from their menu in the future.

The address takes you to a middle/high school...this isn't a restaurant at all or somewhere you can buy food. Please remove it from Yelp.

The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

Alls sorts of items come by your table. If I could say anything bad it would be that I wish some of the portions were smaller - there are so many things to try and I no longer each like a college student. Service - our server never left us wanting for anything. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I look forward to bringing more friends here in the future. The place is large and can accommodate larger groups - I think I saw one group of about 15. It may seem a little pricey for some but you have lots of options and it's worth it.

The floors were crazy clean and not at all slippery or squeaky. Bathrooms were also clean.

I battled for a while on how to score Gen Korean BBQ House! Whenever I leaned toward a 4, I found…read morethat I needed to leave out my feelings about fighting with the food I eat, which is difficult for me! But that's on me, not the restaurant. And the food, of which this is a hot pot cook and serve yourself full service restaurant has to be considered in my scoring and graded on that. Now, speaking of service, it was outstanding from the door greeter, our server, and having an opportunity to speak with the manager, I will say that the courtesy and attention to detail was evident throughout the eating cooking and eating experience. It has been a few years since I had eaten in this type of restaurant, and being it was my birthday, I kind of said "Oh no!" To myself as I knew what I was in for. But with the psychological game I was playing inside my head, I instantly made a shift and determined to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. It worked! Except my dearest was having difficulty chewing the meat. But again this was not due to the quality of the meats we chose, it was something else. But the food was very good. I loved the appetizers that came with our dinner at the start. I'm scared to eat kimchi because it's often fire on my tongue! But not this time - there was a little heat in most of the appetizers, but nothing that I couldn't handle. It's good to see the restaurant holding back some of the heat to help those who desire less burn from the taste. Now the meats we had all cooked well and timely in the pot. They did sneak a little Mexican in the meat choices with the pollo (chicken) asado! They had al pastor as well, and thought I had ordered it, but it didn't show up. Now, I would say on the pollo asado offering that I felt the spicing was a little too heavy. It was good and I do miss Mexican cuisine from my years in San Diego. We also had pork belly, which I didn't try because I don't eat pork, but it was a good looking option for those who do like it. Now I will say that I did really like the beef bulgogi - was nicely marinated and pretty tender and not overly chewy. Now, I will say that there were only two of us, but I think we would have fared better being in a group of four or more. I will say that the large padded seating booths are pretty awesome! We needed a lot of room to set all the appetizers and choices we made. I also wish I had gotten to try the carne asada and al pastor. But that's for another day :D I do love the ambiance of Gen Korean BBQ. It's modern in appearance. The spacing is good and it's very well-managed and the care in cleanliness is highly visible. It wasn't a busy time when we visited Gen, but we got to see others enjoying their meals here - and most clearly were large groups that seemed to know the drill better that we did at this type of restaurant. With Gen being in Town Center, I have to finally say that the price of the meal was very reasonable, especially when you have a complete menu to choose many items from. It was impressive. If you like Korean BBQ and restaurants of this type, you owe it to yourself to make a visit (and try to get a small group together to go with you)! Recommend: HIGH

The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. I really wanted - and should've ordered - the Korean hot dog...next time. This place has great customer service and packaging. It's a bit pricey at $20 for what you get or for comparable options, which are within the $15-17 range.
