Rum punch - forgot to take pic until it's almost gone. Delish!
Lianna C.

This is our first time coming to this place, for our date night. The place was crowded! Our server-Colby was awesome, above and beyond, and always come over to check in if we need anything. The restaurant ambiance was great! Food was good! Would have rated as great if the onion petals are not cut too thick. We ordered fried mushrooms, onion petals, and 25 bone-in wings: Caribbean jerk, cajun ranch, and scooter. Wings and mushrooms tasted amazing too. Then i ordered some cocktails - watermelon with jalapeno martini, tum punch, and blue lagoon. I should have started with blu lagoon before the other 2 drinks cause the taste was overpowered by the rum punch sweet taste. Blue lagoon ends up bland. The martini was good. Overall great food, great experience! But probably won't suggest taking young children there. Got all the pictures for the food and drink ordered except for the blue lagoon.

I have been here over 10 times in the past few years and one thing has always been consistent - slow service. While this restaurant may be a hidden gem for some, it is a local lunch spot for me. I have stopped by for many dinner and lunch outings. The food is always made fresh to order which is a good sign. I will say that if you're looking for quick service, this is not the place to go. The quickest I've been in and out has always been an hour even when sitting at the bar alone. Besides that, it has a sports bar feel inside. This spot can get pretty rowdy on the weekends considering it's one of the only bars in Oakleaf. Family, friendly with many pay to play games lining the walls inside including a pool table. I would recommend trying the fried gator tail bites!!!!

This was my second time to this location and both times we had great staff experience. The wings this visit were just meh. However the Gator Voodoo Pasta was amazing! Definitely happy with that choice. Don't know if it's a $23 dish but I'm glad I tried it.

We stopped here for an appetizer lunch while running errands. We sat at the bar in the enclosed porch/outside area. The ambiance of the place was good, I would have dimmed the lights some but it was lunchtime anyway. We ordered a drink and the wings and shrimp with queso and chips. Everything tasted pretty good but the wings were really small. We'd be willing to try again and maybe some of the other foods

We were very disappointed that our cauliflower bites and turkey Reuben were no longer on the menu. We sat at the bar and had great service. We tried something new with the Monte Cristi andgrilled chicken sandwich. I always enjoy their lemon drop martini. Gators is a fun sports bar.

I decided to go here for lunch with a family member since we wanted to visit a friend but found out he didn't work here anymore. The wait here was long but the food was good for a sports bar. The portions are decent and the prices weren't through the roof. One of the TV was glitching which bothered our eyes and other guests. It does get quite loud in the restaurant. At one point some of the other guests got aggressive due to the game which was alarming. Besides that we enjoyed our experience there but there wasn't anything special about the burger or philly cheesesteak. I wished I ordered the gator bites since it was recommended but our waitress didn't come back and check up on us after placing our drinks so I decided not to add to the wait.

Southwest egg rolls

Went here during a Jags game and there were various games on. It's a sports bar atmosphere so that was cool. Each tv was marked with what they would be televising. The food was as expected and average sports bar quality. We ordered the southwest egg rolls as an appetizer. They were a bit over cooked but did have very good flavor. I also had a cup of chili. The chili was average at best. We ordered some wings and they were cooked on the crispy side. I enjoy this so it wasn't a negative. The Buffalo flavor is good. The service is as good but not excellent. Overall, the restaurant is average and therefore I give it a 3.

Sloooooow service... our waitress apparently didn't really want her tip tonight. I honestly dont care for this place but my fiancée wanted to eat here for dinner And yet they expect tips wings were really saucy and I didn't really care for them. My fiancée had the fried shrimp with fries. I don't see how this place is still open

Good food, a great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and good drinks, especially the beer is ice cold.

Gators gathers a crowd for the local games. The wait staff does a pretty good job overall. The food isn't that good. Just average.

Save yourself the trouble and just don't. Mediocre bar food and very slow poor service. Two stars is generous.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

The inside is nothing fancy (which is fine). The chef‑owners who are James Beard finalists, which naturally raises expectations. However, after multiple visits, the overall experience has not matched the level of hype surrounding the restaurant. Portion sizes relative to pricing remain the primary concern, making the value feel uneven despite the appealing setting. I work in the area and have gone with several office mates. We've tried several dishes and sandwiches but still can't understand the extreme hype. I was told the Chorizo was spicy and it was so bland I felt like I was eating Hilshire Farms kielbasa. Pros: * Outdoor Dining - Pleasant outdoor dining area that provides a comfortable place to relax * Service - Consistently friendly service and a casual neighborhood feel * Variety - Menu crafted by highly regarded chef‑owners with strong culinary credentials * Location - Murray Hill location for a laid‑back meal or meet‑up * The best dish on the menu has been the pork sandwich - which is half a sub roll and plantain chips Cons: * Pricing - Pricing feels high for the portion sizes (e.g., three chicken legs at $23) * Expectations - Overall experience does not fully align with the restaurant's reputation * Some dishes feel more modest than expected given the cost Chancho King is a great place to unwind in the neighborhood, but the pricing-to-portion balance left me wanting more.
