Went to the Hickory N.C. Location today and I was shocked at how dirty all the tables were and the area where you place your food trays was a mess. People waiting on food and looked like none of the wait staff really cared at all. I also tried to use a Gift Card and the manager didn't even know how to use a gift card. The first time I came here was good, the second time (that evening) they forgot something in my meal and the quality was ok, and then I returned to the area for a work trip and got lunch here again. The $8 cheesesteak and $7 half-chicken apple salad are each only worth $5 because of size and also quality was sub par. read more

If I could put 9 I would. Got a catering order for breakfast. I was supposed to pick it up at 8:40. They didn't start making the order until 8:45. They only had half of what I ordered in stock. No coffee creamer that I could take with me unless it was in a plastic cup. There was 0 sense of urgency when they were behind schedule. There are two Panera locations in Hickory, and this one is the better of the two. They have *some* bakery goods left later at night, where the other location doesn't have any if you have an after dinner sweet tooth. They also have a really nice outdoor patio! The service is always fast and friendly as well. If you've never tried the strawberry lemon mint charged lemonade, it is a MUST for all of you caffeine addicts out there! I have one every single day. The blood orange (sugar free) charger is gross in my opinion, but the mango is my go to if they are out of strawberry. read more

I received the Sammie at breakfast sandwich ever this morning at Panera Hickory. It was half of half and definitely not worth the money spent. My specialty "iced" coffee was made incorrectly and had two pieces of ice in it. I keep hoping Panera will improve as I've tied in multiple cities to try again to want to spend my money here, each time I'm disappointed. read more

Panera, like most multinational restaurant companies focus less on quality and customer satisfaction than their bottom line. It's sad when a new restaurant chain grows and opens more locations because of their popularity- good reviews from customers satisfaction. Then the company gets greedy and grows so big they forget what made the restaurant succeed in the first place. I have visited many different Panera locations and every one of them are always DIRTY and unkept. The front of the restaurant has dirty tables, floors and bathrooms. Makes you wonder how the kitchen is kept. Poor management and lazy staff. My most recent visit- came in early morning on a Saturday- place hadn't been open an hour and the tables, floors & bathroom were disgusting. Obviously the shift the night prior left without cleaning up! Seriously?!?! The food is still good but you can't help but think- is it safe to eat this- is the kitchen gross too? read more

This place is a disaster...the kid at the register totally screwed up the payment portion, did not include the discount he ASKED if I wanted to use from my rewards, then I was served the Cobb salad with frozen chicken by another teenager who in defense was a nice girl but still didn't know that you do not serve frozen food in a ready to eat meal, and then to make matters all the more worse, the kid at the register had friends in the restaurant who somehow managed to sit right beside my booth, and commenced to do what teenagers do, talk loudly, cursing, and talking very badly. We've all done it...but not on the clock nor in a restaurant period. They just need to tighten up on the professionalism in these kids if that's who they're going to use for staff. read more

I think this was my worst Panera experience ever. We got here and the cashier didn't even greet us, he kept talking to a coworker. After he took our order, didn't say a word either, no "you're good to go," just stared awkwardly. All of the tables were dirty so they're clearly not cleaning them. Our breakfast sandwiches were decent but nothing to rave about. The avocado in my sandwich clearly wasn't fresh. I got the broccoli cheddar soup afterward contactless and it was placed in the window, luke warm and watered down. I have literally never had runny soup like this at Panera before. I have been going to this Panera for at least the last 3 years and I've never had an issue until today. It really pains me to give a less than 4 star review for any Panera because you know, it's Panera! Panera experiences have always given me good vibes BUT this location left me feeling some type of way from the moment the drive thru staff blurted out, "What can I get you?"...the experience only went down from there, short remarks, talking over my spouse and leaving the mike on after remarks so we could hear the chatter and laughter inside. Unfortunately, the food order was no better...I ordered Sweet Tea no ice but it came with ice, I ordered a small cup of ice and that was omitted and to add insult to injury, my perfect Turkey Avocado BLT was watery. Despite this horrible experience today, I will not let it turn me against one of my favorites and what I consider to be one of the Top 5 restaurants. However, based on my experience today and the reviews of others who've visited this location recently, I will not visit this location anytime soon. I am not in Hickory that often but it still makes me sad to mark this location off my list of quick food options. I hope management turns things around soon! read more

My last visit to this Panera was very dissatisfying. Pictured is the sad Greek salad I purchased: no feta cheese, almost a whole red onion, small amount of lettuce. Staff was rude; I could hear them yelling & cutting-up before I even got to the drive-thru speaker. I reached out to Panera after the incident & never got a response. Just tried their new ckicken bacon ranch sandwich. Guess I should say bacon crumbles, ranch and toasted bread. At 4:30 this afternoon I stopped by after hearing their add for said sandwich on radio. The toasted bread was very good, plentiful ranch ok, at best a 1/2 piece of crumbled bacon and maybe 1 1/2 oz of crumbled chicken. Believe the assembler in kitchen needs to take a look at the sandwich you have advertised - 2 slices of chicken and several slices of bacon. Would be nice if Panera was to add the amount/weight of their ingredients to their menu. A little truth in advertising would go a long way. read more

This location of Panera is ok. Could stand to be cleaner. The couple of times I've been to this location, the food has been decent. Once tried to order some oatmeal to go, during the middle of the afternoon and was told "they only serve oatmeal at breakfast."
