My pick-up order had an incorrect sandwich. When Panera's was called the manager asked if I wanted to come back for a replacement. I said no because I had already wasted 10 minutes of my car's gas waiting on line. And another part of the order was soup, which would then be cold. He apologized saying he was understaffed. He said he was unable to credit back our account because the order was paid for by gift card. He said when picking up my next order I should just order another pick 2 for free at the window & say that he approved it. What are the odds of that turning out well? Nice spacious Panera w a drive thru. We did dine in, and taking orders and then getting our food took a bit of time. Pros: large amount of indoor tables and outdoor tables. Cons: Some of the indoor tables weren't clean. But our soups were good. Not sure why this place has such poor reviews. read more

I LOVE this location. I tried out the sip club right before this location opened to see if it was worth the money and if I would use it enough. It was free for the first month, and I was most likely going to cancel after the trial. Well, after over a year, I am still paying for the coffee club for two important reasons. The first is for the very friendly staff. I come in with my son a lot, and it is the only business that I feel so welcome every time I walk in. They also interact with my son and treat him so kind. He now says "my friends at Panera" The second reason is because the quality of the coffee is much better than other places. They have dark roast, light roast, hazelnut, and decaf. There is also hot water for their many different hot tea bags. If you don't drink coffee or tea, they also have a large selection of cold drinks. My son loves the lemonade. There is a lot of caffeine in the "charged" lemonades for me to have a full glass, but they are very tasty. The blood orange is a new flavor that is unique and so good. My top go to foods I order are the flatbread pizza and Tuna salad sandwich. The pizzas are a perfect size when you are craving pizza. The tuna salad has the right flavor and tastes the best on the foccia bread it comes with. It's the best combination they added. A lot of the older review experiences mentioned I think had a lot to do with when they first opened and were just starting out. I saw a huge turn around and this location is very well managed and they really take care of their customers. I really encourage you to try them out if you haven't. This location is also a good spot to sit and get work done. I highly recommend sitting at their tables with a book or computer that you can plug into many of the outlets under the booth tables. And now that I wrote that it's time to go get some more of their really good coffee! read more

Extremely understaffed. it was around 11 am, not breakfast, lunch, or dinner rush. My friend ordered a bagel and a cup of coffee. When she went to fill the cup, she found the urn was empty and asked for help. in the meantime, the only employee servicing customers was starting my latte order. He immediately stopped that when another customer walked in. she had a complicated to-go order which she read from a list and totaled more than $32. When he finally finished taking that order, I reminded him that my half-completed latte was waiting for him. He finished that, and only then did he turn to my friend's request for coffee. He disappeared into a back area and returned with a full cup several minutes later. All in all, I waited at least 10 minutes for my latte, and my friend waited at least 20 minutes for a simple coffee. Neither of us will ever patronize this cafe again. read more

Stopped in for a quick snack and was disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and a tomato soup. The bun was stale and the chicken was old, cooked a while ago. The tomato soup was tastless. The prices were 13 dollars for a plain sandwich no side dish. Overall $26 bucks for lunch. Go to Popeyes, Wendy's, McDonalds or Burger King instead for this item. Went there on May 6 to dine in they were out of chip bags to give with sandwiches and green toppings to put on sandwich. So many people in the place waiting for their orders that they started getting refunds after waiting 30 minutes and told another 40 minutes. We waited 45 minutes! read more

Horrible costumer service. I ordered chicken green goddess and the sandwich came with no chicken. I told one of the staff that my sandwich is missing chicken in it and after 15 min waiting I went and check with them. She completely forgot about the sandwich. That's really ridiculous! First I must say the service here is terrible and extremely slow and they messed up my sandwhich order so I couldn't even eat my lunch. Secondly, the employees here are trashy af. And most importantly, DO NOT Purchase gift cards from here!!! I purchased a gift card from here and got $10 bonus card and they told me the card wasn't active and that I couldn't use it. They pretty much ripped me off $10 because I never used the card. I purchased a $50 gift card last month gave it to a friend and kept the $10 bonus card for myself to use which I was excited to use yet to find out they told me I couldn't use it. The lady didn't even call the manager for help. This place is not worth getting aggravated over. There are much better food places nearby with better prices. We had the margarita pizzas. The crust was good yet there was hardly any mozzarella cheese on it and therefore no flavor. I was really disappointed. There is a fireplace. Horrendous. I went during a busy lunch. I ordered and waited a good 25 minutes. I only ordered soup that's it. People we're leaving that came after me. I asked if they put my order up they said look on bags for name sitting on counter or board. Nothing. More people. I said I just ordered soup can I get it already? They said it's up there. I came in over a month ago and had a terrible experience (it took over 2 hours for food.) Today I gave the store a second chance, and upon starting my order realized they were sold out of Mac n Cheese. That was my final straw. I will be sticking with the Panera in Middletown from now on.
