This small town has landed a somewhat healthy fast food chain! Hooray!! I hope it does well here and they open one up on the coast. I love their breakfast sandwiches.. and their hazelnut flavored coffee (no syrup in it either). They always have fresh breads you can choose to take home and lots of pastries to carb load your sweet tooth up with. The staff is friendly and they keep the sitting area clean. What I love is their reward program, keeps me coming back .

Your pick sandwich .. be sure to specify if you like it grill or heated or cold . If not it'll come out hard and cold lolz

Variety isn't as massive as other locations but the tea selection they have is beyond ! Love it .. if you like healthy types of tea they have it

Great quick breakfast when other restaurants had an hour+ wait. They were able to accommodate our large group easily.

My first return visit was quite pleasant and I was very surprisingly pleased as their shrimp gumbo actually tasted like gumbo which often isn't the case once you get outside of Louisiana. I also sampled their burger with a side of onion rings which was decent but the burger was more of a thin patty fast food style burger while I prefer the NOLA style thick beef patty. I made another visit to try out their poboy so I again got the shrimp gumbo along with a shrimp poboy. This visit was not as pleasant as the first as the shrimp gumbo just seemed off while the poboy was alright but the bread seemed a bit less than fresh. In NOLA poboy bread is good for one day and goes stale so then it is used to make bread pudding. The big poboy bread bakeries in NOLA have started to ship out their bread to other places and somehow have found a way to keep it fresh longer but it still just seems you can't get that same fresh poboy bread experience anywhere outside of NOLA. The ambiance of Gold Post is till 1970's fantastic with nothing being changed from the way I remember it as a kid so that is always nostalgic. The service at Gold Post is fast food style where you order at the counter but they do clean your table. Overall this is a decent joint and one of the few poboy spots in Hattiesburg, MS.

You can even get them "dressed" Nola style with your choice of gravy. Yum Yum Yum! The shrimp po'boy is just as delicious with beautifully executed super crunchy savory battered shrimp, seasoned to perfection. The tiny bistro French fries here are Amazeballs, perfect marriage with NOLA po'Boys :)... AND, the red beans & rice are served traditional NOLA style with French bread. You can get a cup or a bowl, we got a bowl & took one home. The salads here are also worth the drive, they even have their own signature dressing. it's over 2 hours for us but when we need a NOLA fix with nostalgia, it's a Hail Mary to the "GoldPost." Will return. Highest Recommendations.

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!

3 stars (was tempted to give 2) for being the most inconsistent, back-and-forth restaurant I've…read moreever frequented. It's been a complete coin toss every time I've visited as to whether I'm going to have a wonderful or terrible time. On the good days, everything is as expected, service is prompt, the food is good, etc. etc. The steaks are quality, as are the burgers. On the bad days though, it's usually really bad. One notable example I feel I have to give: we arrived at 4:30, were seated immediately, but no one came by for 25 minutes, at which point we flagged down the first server we could find who informed us that "the server for your section isn't here yet" (then why seat us there?????) Then, when someone finally came by to take our order, they brought the wrong appetizer and a ribeye instead of the filet we ordered. The manager eventually stopped by to comp the steak, which is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2. This is just one example of many times where either the food, service, or both have been lacking. Needless to say, don't bank on necessarily having a good time here unless you have some kind of good karma going on from helping an old lady across the street or something to boost your odds of a good experience.

I'm not sure where to begin with this review, because we very much wanted to enjoy this restaurant,…read morebut it was not a very good experience in any sense. We were in Hattiesburg for the night and found Murky Waters through their website, which indicated through their menu, photos, prices, and their suggestion that reservations should be made that this was elevated southern barbecue. It is not. Which is fine, if that's what you're serving and charging for. But here's what we got: "Smoked ahi tuna dip" = canned tuna salad ($12.95, served with Keebler Club crackers) Ham & cheese po' boy- it was just a ham and cheese sandwich on a long roll, and the roll was cold ($13.95) My son liked the brisket, but said the Mac & cheese was not good. My family got refills on their drinks, but my drink came in a smaller glass and I didn't get a refill. We all got soda, so I'm not sure why. The restaurant is pleasant, but we were seated directly in front of the window unit air conditioner so we had to decide which one of us would be the most uncomfortable while eating. The bill was over $100. After discussing it, we all felt that we would have felt better about the entire thing if the food had been more fairly represented and priced. If you go, don't order the tuna.
