The Hattiesburg restaurant is barely okay. I hope other locations are better. The food was cold and it lacked luster; I have no desire to return here as it definitely does not live up to its namesake. The Bloody Mary's were not good at all, the pancake was doughy and the grits needed salt. The manager should NOT be a manager, in fact he would benefit greatly from attending a leadership conference or 4. I will give them 1 star for the atmosphere and cleanliness of the establishment and 1 more star because the young lady who took our order had an amazing personality. Other than that ~ I'd say you are better off staying home grabbing a bowl of cereal.

Went for the name, stayed for the food. Why aren't you in Houston? I know you are a small chain and I'm not generally in the chain gang but I could make an exception. I mean you're in Akron (I already told family there to go) and not South, home of the biscuits? I went traditional (sorta) with the gravy train and southern grannies best watch out because it was amongst the best. Don't sleep on the hush puppies either, using sweet potatoes brilliant. Monthly special and the butter bar would make this a go to for me. Come closer. Oh and the candied bacon? Yum. Nifty looking interior and great service makes this a winner all the way around.

Cliff and his team are nothing shy of amazing! This vicious biscuit location was phenomenal! The service was stellar - they treat their guests with kindness and good ol' fashioned southern hospitality! Don't skip on the shrimp and grits - it's the best thing on their menu, and it will not disappoint!

Everything was great! Hollandaise sauce was perfect Gravy was delicious Bloody Mary was good (but who puts cold limp bacon on anything?) Of course the biscuits are perfect. Blackberry jam was delicious (Do not forget to try the butter bar - lots of yumminess there)

From start to finish, this place is worth the hype! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, management was fantastic, and the environment was welcoming. Inside it was clean, spacious, designed well, and not too crowded. Now the star of the show- the FOOD! 10/10. They have a self serve jam and butter bar, too which is nice. The biscuits were soft, the chicken was tender, the bacon was the right mix of zest and sweet... it was an all around perfect brunch experience. Highly recommend!

The service and food are amazing!!! Biscuits, grits, fried green tomatoes, all delicious. Worth the trip.

Very good Nashville hot biscuit sandwich.

Very good chicken and biscuit place. The Nashville hot chicken and biscuit on a jalapeno cheese biscuit had just the right amount of heat. The jalapeno hushpuppies (I forget what they call them) were nice and crispy with a good bready interior. Get the honey mustard to go with them, much better than the sauce that comes with them. Would definitely go back.

Cool place! I loved their menu with fun twists on biscuit sandwiches and breakfast bowls. My daughter got a kids breakfast platter and it was huge for $8! I appreciated that they also had gluten free biscuits available. The adults and teen in our group all ordered biscuit sandwiches and we enjoyed them all. 2 of them came with candied jalapenos on top but no other garnishes or toppings. I think adding some crunchy toppers that are not spicy like sliced pickles and pickled onions or even juicy tomato slices and sauteed spinach would help with the sandwiches having better texture and not being so meat and bread heavy. I had the bbq pork one, my husband had pimento cheese and chicken, and my daughter had a gravy chicken biscuit. I loved the mustard bbq but it was definitely a fork and knife biscuit and like I said it needed some toppings. Another thing I loved was they had a complimentary butter and jam bar. They had a variety of whipped butters and fruit jams that you could get in little cups to go with your meal. Great idea but what do they go on? The biscuit sandwiches do not come with sides, they don't have toast or anything to apread it on. So besides my daughters kids meal with a pancake in order for us to use the butter and jam we had to disassemble our biscuit sandwiches and eat the top biscuit half separately with the jams. I think it it was like a LaMadelines restaurant with the free jam and sliced bread or mini muffins that would make much more sense. Vicious Biscuit is counter service restaurant and they have a whole menu of alcoholic drinks you can also order at the counter. The employees were friendly, made recommendations, and we were checked on and our plates cleared multiple times when we were seated. Overall, great restaurant and I will be back. Just about everything on the menu sounded good so you could try something new everytime you visit!

Vicious Biscuit in Hattiesburg did not disappoint. The service was fast and efficient, and the food came out hot and full of flavor. I ordered the Old School breakfast, and it was absolutely amazing--simple, hearty, and done right. Great spot for a quick, satisfying breakfast with quality food. Definitely worth the visit.

Me and my husband got here around 1:30 and they close at two so we were cutting it close the place wasn't packed but our service was quick and easy. My husband got the vicious biscuit and I tasted and it Twas delicious. I decided to be healthy for once in my life and I thought I was going to be disappointed and it was sooo good. Very fresh and tasty. My cute little niece had herself some pancakes and bacon and it was good too! Overall the place was clean, the food was good and the service was great so a nice addition to Hattiesburg

The Vicious Biscuit is located near USM's campus. It would be a fun restaurant to visit with friends or visiting family on game weekends. The restaurant is clean, has a fun atmosphere, and a creative flavorful menu. I like restaurants where I'm really torn on what to try. The staff was polite and attentive during my visit. You order at the counter and are given a number. You are then free to find a table. There were small cards and signs posted around the restaurant asking patrons to wait until after they order to take a table. There was 5 of us in my party and our meals, kinda trickled out to the table sporadically, but everything looked and tasted great. I tried their specialty "The Vicious Biscuit". It was full of flavor, nicely plated, and a generous portion. Other plates ordered were the Fat Boy, the apple beignets, and a breakfast bowl. I also tried their Bloody Mary and it was excellent. The one place this restaurant could stand to improve is the speed that they take orders and allow customers to be seated. While we were eating the line was out the door into the parking lot and tables were empty all around us. This restaurant is really blowing it out of the water on all other categories.

I am so happy a restaurant like this opened up in Hattiesburg Mississippi. I went on the second day and it wasn't too crowded during lunch. They have a massive menu with different breakfast/brunch options. I got the fat boy and their beignets. Both were amazing. The fat boy biscuit had amazing flavor, well it isn't the best biscuit I've ever had in my whole life. I would say it's the best in Hattiesburg. Massive piece of chicken. The service and ambience of this place was wonderful. The beignets were better than expected, I love the jam and the filling that goes with the beignets. I highly recommend this place that would come back.

Been going here since they opened, its one of the most consistent, delicious restaurants in Hattiesburg. I've tried just about all of there biscuits and love them. Only thing that could make it better is if their hours of operation become more broad.

Husband had the Blue plate special , and chose the catfish, collard greens & coleslaw to go with the hush puppies & cornbread. They had a full bar & a tempting specialty cocktail menu as well as happy hour specials but we decided to stick with water as we were on a road trip. Again, this was a completely unexpected experience. Everything was cooked to perfection & tasted incredible. Charlotte explained that this is the closest to New Orleans style food that you will find around. She then told us the chef offers "a taste" of 2 deserts (changes daily if offered). A white chocolate Brad pudding and a chocolate cake with sauce. Oh wow!! Much more than a taste but full dessert portion. Both were so good and genuinely appreciated. Such a good meal, with incredible service and beautiful atmosphere. We will be back. Thank you!

The staff is attentive without hovering, professional without feeling scripted, and they genuinely make you feel welcome. The ambience hits that sweet spot -- energetic but still comfortable, making it an easy place to settle in and enjoy your meal. Now let's talk about the real headline act: the cheese grits. Absolutely out of this world. Creamy, rich, perfectly seasoned and the pepper Jack cheese added a wonderful touch-- they weren't a side dish, they were the star of the show. If they sold those by the gallon, I'd consider questionable life decisions. I ordered the shrimp po'boy. The shrimp themselves? Fantastic. Fresh, fried just right, and piled generously. The toppings and that homemade remoulade (or whatever magic sauce they're whipping up back there) were bright and flavorful. The only hiccup: the bread. The ends were toasted with the intensity of a NASA heat shield. I needed jaw strength training to get through the first few bites. Once you navigated past that crunchy barricade though, it was smooth sailing. I finished with the deep dish apple pie à la mode. I'm not sure if it was made in-house, outsourced, or assembled by a dessert engineer in a lab somewhere -- but I don't really care. It worked. Warm apples, flaky crust, walnuts, brown sugar, and cold ice cream melting into the whole situation... excellent flavor combo. Bonus points for a strong bourbon selection at prices that don't require a small loan application. That alone will get me back in the door. Four stars because of the bread battle, but I'd absolutely come back -- especially for those grits and a good pour of bourbon.

I have to say I still prefer their old location better which is largely more for nostalgia's sake. The service was less than I had come to expect from the old location so that could certainly use some improvement and it seemed to have gotten even worse for my second visit to the new spot. The food has declined from my past first visit to this new location sadly. The open faced prime rib sandwich served with a side of au jus was my go to staple here for many years but they no longer have that on the menu sadly. The only other entrée I ever ordered here was one of the Gulf fish specials which they still had some of those at least but not as good a choice as they used to have. For my second visit the menu was so uninspiring to me I just got a cheeseburger and it was fortunately a decently good cheeseburger. For Hattiesburg this is probably still one of the better places to eat. They have continued doing a nice tray of their dessert selections setting out on display to really try and tempt your soul with lust for their sweet treats. I really think they need to up their game again and go back to what they used to be! Overall if you're in the area this is probably a good choice for the food or their bar which will be better than any of the many nearby chains like Applebee's but not quite as good as Crescent City Grill.
