Living in Guilford for over a year, we only now tried Panera Bread for the first time. I wanted to get some soup and I tried the french onion soup. The chocolate croissant looked absolutely delicious so we had to get one of those. The tea and coffee at panera bread is also really good. The pizza flatbread was also really delicious. Just the perfect balance of bread and toppings. Perfectly cooked as well. Even though the food is delicious, I would still consider it expensive. I would surely recommend it. read more

Cashier was friendly while taking our orders. Food was ready promptly. Soup was hot, and sandwich was made fresh. Lemonade was my drink of choice and it was delicious, not overly sweet. Just say No to breakfast sandwiches at Panera Bread. This morning, I had the most disappointing breakfast sandwich ever for $7.28. I always order through the app. This was my first taste of breakfast at Panera Bread and it will be my last. Ordered the Bacon, Scrambled Egg & Cheese on Ciabatta. Customized it by adding spinach & tomato, and paid $1.29 for extra bacon... Idk what part was the most disappointing. First, this sandwich was about the size of my cell phone. Guess it's ok for breakfast but I wanted something hearty. The taste was bland. It says salt and pepper was added but maybe they should add 2-3 dashes instead of a half dash. And the bacon??? I paid for extra bacon, thinking it would be like in the pic. There may have been 1.5 slices total, if that. It wasn't evrn thick bacon. What did I pay an extra $1.29 for??? I figured if the sandwhich wasn't good, I would still have the extra bacon to enjoy, but that didn't happen. Cutting up 1 slice of bacon into several smaller pieces does not constitute extra bacon. Also the set-up was weird. No one bothered to put my stuff in the pre order pick-up area. Had to ask where it was, It was waiting at the window where u get ur dine-in food. The lemonades/ teas aren't visible from that window, so I had to ask where that was. Then the drink lids aren't visible from the soft drink section. I had to ask where those were(on the side). It was way too much interaction in the morning esp when I'm late and trying to get in and get out. I think I'll stick to quick fast food when it comes to breakfast where I can get 2 sandwiches for $4-5. I just remove the bread and I'm still left with more bacon than came on this $7.28 sandwich. Panera's are pretty much the same everywhere in terms of food quality and variety. What really sets each one apart is the preparation of the food, atmosphere, efficiency, and their employees. We recently went through the drive thru at this location so I can't comment on what the inside is like, however we were very pleased with our service. The person taking the drive thru orders was upbeat and friendly. Our wait time (for a Panera) was minimal. Our order was correct and tasted as expected. I would use their drive-thru again. read more

This Panera is located in the perfect location. We've been visiting here for close to a year. Every time, we place our order online for rapid pick up. I don't think we've ever eaten inside or used the drive through. Normally just place the order on the phone and then go inside to grab it. They have never gotten our order wrong, even when I add a bunch of additional items to an existing sandwich, it's always correct. Most recently, we placed an order for lunch for curbside pick up. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, a Panera worker was waiting for us already outside, wearing a mask and gloves, literally flagged our car down and dropped our order through the window of the passenger side. We as a family eat at Panera 6 days a week, lunch every day and some days dinner. Most days breakfast as well. I have been to most locations in Connecticu, this is my least favorite. Their portions are significantly smaller than the rest, no almond milk, spoiled half and half and you can never find all coffees they offer. Almost always empty I guess for that reason. We live in Fairfield county but while our house was getting fixed we stayed at two different places and visited the Panera's locations close by. This was the closest to Branford but after our 3rd try we decided we rather drive to North Haven than coming here. Beautiful interior but that is all about it. I do not recommend this location. I never write reviews, but this needs to be addressed. I've emailed the company, sent surveys. I guess whoever owns this establishment literally could care less. Every time i have ordered here they are literally missing an item, or simply don't have it. Your prices are ridiculously high for "soup and a sandwich" and i kid you not- my sandwich is made wrong EVERY TIME. For example: Last time: ordered a tuna sandwich with L,T, Onion and cheddar - received a tuna sandwich with NOTHING else, no cheese and on the wrong bread i ordered. Couldn't eat it, sent an email and received an "I'm sorry" rewards card. Second and LAST TIME EVER RETURNING TO THIS PLACE: Ordered a med. veggie, they were out of feta, so i substituted Gouda- NO Gouda, no tomato, no roasted red pepper relish and on the wrong bread i requested....AGAIN. I get it, it's a sandwich place, but don't play the part of being an "upscale sandwich/soup/salad establishment" when you don't even have knowledgeable employees working for you. Since my first visit to a Panera Bread in Oak Park, IL, it has been a favorite of mine for a quick, nutritious, nicely prepared lunch or early dinner. The nice array of baked goods is always tempting and the beverage selection is different and good. The Guilford CT location is new and I wrote a review on the Panera site that was not entirely positive. The manager called me shortly after. I was impressed that they cared. I have made a few visits since that review and the changes are noticeable. Clearly the impact of this manager, some good new hires, and a very competent prep staff are making a difference. At my last visit, we ordered a warm grain bowl and a steak and white cheddar sandwich. Both were spot on! I am so happy and cannot wait to return. read more

The loveliest Panera I've ever been to. Huge space with lots of different types of seating- cozy chairs for a coffee date, high tops for a quick bite, and various sizes of tables for parties big and small. I've been twice and have enjoyed delicious food each time. I haven't been during the lunch or dinner rush yet, but I'm sure it gets a little rowdier. Different than other Paneras, the pasty/bread display seems on the small side. And they have the items separated so it feels like they don't have much selection as they're all in smaller, different displays. I get that they've only been open for a hot minute, but the place is a mess because the employees are a mess. I'm not sure why they seemed to be having such a hard time getting orders together seeing as there were about 30 people (+/-) working in the kitchen. While we were waiting for our to go order (two bagels, one toasted with butter, the other not toastedwith cream cheese, one iced coffee, one frozen coffee thing), a woman received her order and both sandwiches were 100 percent incorrect. I get f'ing up one part of an order, but the bread, the meat, the sides for both were completely wrong. They call me for my order, wish me a happy day, and turn away. Both drinks were missing. When I mentioned it, the chick looked on the verge of tears. 10 solid minutes pass before they hand over the drinks. There's no doubt that the customers in that particular location are probably awful and entitled, but guys, get your shit together. Love Panera but I keep telling this location that the coffee is never hot and their answers is we try to change it out every hour or so. If you want a hot cup of coffee this is not the place. If you are going to be in the coffee business, people like hot coffee or they will ask for ice coffee. This is not just one time this is everyday with the Luke warm coffee. read more

Good Addition to Panera Chain We are fans of the freshness of food at the Panera chain. The food met the high standards that we have come to expect from Panera. The staff seemed slightly less experienced than in most locations but we had no issue with preparation of our order and the quality. As a new location, this was nicer than some older Paneras in terms of decor. Note to management: signage for those traveling southbound on I-95 needs to be better. At the end of the ramp, do you turn right or left? Not sure if there is signage at the end of the ramp for northbound traffic. Even if you make the correct choice (the restaurant is north of the Interstate at exit 57), the location can easily be missed because the building is above street level and signage is not prominent (probably because of zoning restrictions?). We hope this location makes it because it has received few reviews and it seems that they need to increase their marketing efforts not least of which is to help travelers on i-95 find the place! read more

I've not had a negative experience at this Panera yet. It's brand new and is incredibly well designed. There are plenty of power outlets and even USB charging slots on their large front/community table. I almost always order Rapid Pickup since I go there to study and I'd prefer to leave my laptop and phone and other valuables unattended as little as possible. The website gives you 10 minutes to expect your order after paying and I've always received my order within 5 minutes, sometimes even within 3 minutes (depending on what I order, of course). I tried the same thing at the North Haven Panera and even the simplest order was screwed up. Guilford Panera is a breath of fresh air. . I live over 30 minutes from this Panera but the drive is so beautiful and the ambiance here is so cozy, it's worth the drive. 10/10 this is my favorite Panera!! read more

There's bound to be mistakes as it just opened but I've been there 3 times already and it's gotten better each time. We went on Wednesday and Thursday 7/24 & 7/25. It was very good. The first day they forgot the cookies. But the second day they did great and service is improving! The food is always delicious- got a You Pick Two Bacon Turkey Bravo and broccoli soup. And the next day got a blueberry scone, a blueberry muffin and bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches.
