I know there's been turnover regarding managers over the last however many years they've been there. The problem is that to-go orders are not always correct but you wouldn't necessarily know it until you get home. This was my home Panera for 7 years until recently. It was a mixed bag. Positives: never an issue with the food. General manager and staff always nice. Negative; the coffee ranges from okay to abominable. For some reason the coffee has a much darker color than any other Panera I have ever been to frequently resulting in a very bitter taste which leaves a film in the mouth. I need to create a new review. I had been generous previously with 5 stars. I have the Sip Club, so come here at least once a week. Recently, the staff here has demonstrated a lack of concern for keeping the dining area clean. Dirty tables, floors, and a messy drink station for example. Associates will get a drink, ignoring all this, and head back to work behind the counters. I tend to drop by during less busy times. When they are slammed with online orders, I give them the benefit of the doubt. I would put this on management. My comparison is the other Germantown location near Black Rock. I see the management more involved there, checking the dining area themselves and directing associates well. Here, the management seems in general to focus on behind the assembly area, even allowing associates to address customer concerns instead of handling them directly. Disgusting! Got a cup of hazelnut coffee here today. While drinking it, I found a great piece of plastic floating in it. I let the girl at the front counter know to which she apologized and asked which coffee container. I said no worries and walked back to my table and watched. Decent Panera location with an okay atmosphere and standard decor. I prefer the location in Aspen Hill, MD much more after their renovations so now I have this mindset in which all Panera's must match that ambiance. My go-to is usually the Pick-2 (Turkey bacon bravo with a side of pickle, southwest chile lime salad and a bag of chips). Everything tasted pretty fresh even near closing time so I really appreciate that. I'm always concerned whether or not the avocados will turn brown after a whole day but I was really happy knowing that my food looked and tasted great. I usually do mobile ordering at this location so I can't comment on service, however the employees here are super friendly and attentive. They acknowledge you and jump right on your order almost immediately. It's usually pretty empty inside, but I do see a few people on their laptops doing work, or last minute dinner grabbers like myself eating before closing. The accuracy of online orders at this location is absolutely awful. If management is reading this I challenge you to put in three sandwiches, each with a few changes to condiments. 2 out of 3 will be wrong. They promote their online ordering and Panera has a nice App that makes it much easier to tailor a sandwich to your liking, since you can clearly see all the options listed. However, the App is only good if the employees actually make the food you ordered. There is obviously NO TRAINING on following or double checking the accuracy of the order. I order online a couple times a week and my order is incorrect over half of the time. I have just come to expect it. It does not matter if you online order for breakfast, lunch, slow times or busy times. The frequent errors make it clear that nobody is looking at the order tag to double check if it was made correctly. They just seem look at the sandwich listed, make it quick, throw it in the bag, and move on. No management oversight. I have often looked for someone to comment on about this, but it is rarely clear to me who the manager on duty is. While Panera is friendly about correcting orders, I usually order online when I do not have time to wait around for a correction or manager, so I'm left with a wrong order. This does not just include sandwich revisions, your side item selection is also often incorrect. Simple things like knowing what kind of bread, apple or chips to toss in the bag! They don't seem to care or else the training or process has not adapted to the online ordering which enables customers to make more changes. As a stark contrast, if you go to a Wawa or Sheetz and use their MTO ordering system, it is correct every time... at a gas station! Better accuracy than Panera. That's a problem. Other than that it is a friendly clean store and I wish the online ordering experience better reflected the experience. read more

Panera is Panera so I'm not quite sure what all the negativity on here is all about but I had a decent experience for the following reasons: -The manager greeted me with a nice "Good morning" upon entering. -Grace had an upbeat personality from the beginning of my order till the end of the transaction. -The wait time for my order was short. This had to be the quickest turnaround time to get my food from all the Panera's in the area I have been to. -Clean environment with plenty of seating. Work wise, this place gets 0 stars, the manager at the time had an affinity for sliding things under the rug and allowing any and all awful things to continue happening at this location. Food and service wise this location deserves 2.5/3 stars. The cashiers are ALWAYS rushed and rushing you in return. Even if there is no one behind you they stand at the register calling next until you decide to hastily order something, ANYTHING!! The food and line staff are always really quick and great at what they do. Although my dad did order a Caesar salad once and got a garden salad instead. The food is pretty fresh here, Panera standard food but it's always fresh at this location. No wilted salads or soggy breads in my experience so pretty good. Tables are usually dirty bc people love to leave their dishes and they don't get cleaned fast enough. Pretty subpar experience here. read more

I liked coming here for lunch when I worked, but after today, I'm seriously reconsidering. I ordered a You Pick Two, with Baja Mac and a Turkey/Avo BLT. The mac I ordered EXTRA Avo, NO pico. When I got it there was a ton of Avo, but it also had pico in it. When I asked for it to be fixed, I got no apology. The girl fixing the food didnt even hand it to me, and instead slapped it on the cashier counter for the cashier to hand to me. This time there was BARELY any Avo whereas I had paid extra for it. Nice to know you get punished and cheated out of money for THEIR mistake. I ordered the BLT sans Bacon. It's Panera. So I won't go into the details like I might for a a lesser known establishment, but I can say it's a strong location. I don't usually come on the weekend when it would be more crowded, but in any given weeknight you can find friendly service, food delivered as advertised, and an open environment with plenty of seating options. When I've (rarely) had a problem with an order, it is typically resolved with friendly quick service. Now, are there some disappointments? Sure. The occasional undercooked egg (which I think Big Panera is forcing them to do with their "over easy" egg), the once in awhile thrown together sandwich? Yes, but this is more on the person making it on that occasion, rather than a reflection of the restaurant. Is Panera a destination restaurant? Uh, no. I have relied on this Panera over the years for a quick coffee while shopping and for treats to share with my family or colleagues, but unless they rectify my last visit I won't be returning. I purchased three spinach and bacon souffles here last week among other items for a small work meeting. We cut into the souffles only to discover the pastry was completely uncooked (see attached pictures). They were definitely inedible and I'm so glad we caught this before anyone ate them and got sick. I contacted Corporate to rectify the situation (since I had placed the order online) but they forwarded my complaint to the branch, saying they would contact me within a few days, but they have not made any contact yet. read more

The PB is located in a shopping center tucked away at the end corner of the parking lot. It is not as busy as other PB locations I have been to...possibly because of the location. It can also be a plus since I usually do not wait long for my order. However, there has been a mix up with my order during one occasion here. There is usually only one cashier at this location, so if you want something from the bakery there is no separate line for it. The atmosphere here is not as lively as other PB locations, but if you enjoy the quiet then this one is for you. During this visit I noticed that there are new displays and additions to tea beverages such as blood orange, agave, lemonade, and passion papaya green tea. There is a sign for the new "craft beverages" and also a bottle of cane sugar to customize the sweetness of the tea. I ordered the chile lime chicken salad and broccoli cheddar soup to go. I received a small container of dressing that was not proportional to the amount of salad. The salad was fresh, but the toppings were not evenly distributed in the salad (not enough chicken, quinoa). The broccoli cheddar soup is my go to here, and I enjoy the big pieces of broccoli florets in the soup. You can order a "pick two" combo with half salad/sandwich/soup. There are many options and you can customize your sandwich if needed (add/remove toppings). read more

Me and my family frequent Panera as they have a great variety for an affordable price. The Panera in Seneca Meadows particularly stood out to us because of the Manager Mimi. Her staff was confronted by a difficult customer and she stepped in to resolve the issue. My wife and I watched as she handled the situation with the utmost grace and respect I've seen from a customer facing individual. The customer was agitated, short and ultimately wrong as they placed the order incorrectly. Instead of making the customer feel bad Mimi was gracious in trying to get the customer the meal they expected. After watching Mimi continue to work after the interaction it didn't deter her from being helpful and kind to other patrons of the restaurant. She's definitely a class act and we will continue to support this particular Panera going forward! read more

It's a hit or miss here. Sometimes the food we get is great and perfect for lunch. Another time I couldn't even eat the Baja bowl. The rice was so hard, either undercooked or old. The entire bowl looked unappetizing. I went with my gut feeling and threw the whole thing out. Considering I was starving and still didn't eat it, that says something about the taste and look. Put in a customer service feedback asking for a refund on part of my order and somebody called me back saying the store manager would call me. Yah that didn't happen. Over $10 down the drain. The steak sandwich was also flat and not like the other times but it tasted good enough. Not sure I'll be ordering from Panera anytime soon. read more

I want the Cuban and it said it was not available although it was advertised and on the menu at the restaurant. I ordered a pick 2. I ordered a cup of onion soup and a half of a four cheese grilled cheese. The sandwich was small not grilled or brown at all. Just a small piece of white bread with at most a 1/2 of an ounce of cheese that I couldn't even taste. It was horrible. When I contacted the manager he started to explain that the grilled cheese was microwaved and not grill. Pathetic! Then don't call it grilled and put enough real cheese on It. The worst customer service, ever. I had a small issue with my food, and I asked one cashier to help me. She told me to go talk to the kitchen, but they were busy making all the incoming orders and I wasn't able to get their attention. I then asked another cashier, but she said "they're working on it," and walked away. Working on what?! I haven't even been able to tell anyone my problem! I eventually gave up and just left. Great atmosphere with a clean environment for relaxing, no hurried sit-down meal. Had the Steak and White Cheddar sandwich that came with small bag of Kettle-Cooked potato chips. Sandwich was excellent. It had a mild horseradish sauce and sweet pickled onions on the Panera sandwich bread. The flavors worked very well together. I had a to go order for four and all of the sandwiches were haphazardly thrown together and not properly heated. There seems to be a lot of students working here which is great to see, but there's a clear lack of oversight in their training or general management for quality control. He took my name and order and I was to pick them up at 5-5:30 on Christmas Eve. Got there right on time and they told me they had none. All gone and didn't have my order. Tried to give me some sour cherry topped croissants which I took but weren't good. Ordered online and pickup was quick and smooth, however once we got home and started eating I found a dead bug and dirt all over a piece of lettuce in my salad. I had to throw the entire salad away. My husband ended up calling the store to inform them and all they offered was to remake the salad. Why would I want another salad after seeing how filthy the first one was? My husband said he did not want another salad and they just said that if we ever come back they will give us a salad for free instead of just giving us a refund. I get home and check my sandwiches and both of them had just bacon and cheese, so I called back to the store and explained to them what I was ordered wasn't what I got. The person on the phone apologized and told me to come back tomorrow. So I went back to the store later that evening only to wait an extra 20 mins or more for my sandwiches. Once I got home and checked my sandwiches again they were wrong AGAIN. This time one of the sandwiches had a huge chunk of cheese and the other had just bacon and cheese again. First, let me start off by saying that the food is good. Never really had an issue with the quality of my food or the accuracy of my order. The issue I have is with the online ordering (rapid pick-up). Multiple times I have ordered via online or the app just to show up at the store to be told that they're out of an item. At least the manager (on duty at the time) and/or cashier apologized and did their best to accommodate me. However, this was not the case for my most recent online order. I went inside the restaurant well after the estimated 10 minutes pick up time. I went into the store looked on the shelf and I did not see my order. I assumed maybe they were out of an item I ordered since it has happened multiple times before. I waited in line and when I got to the register, I told the cashier I placed an online order. She asked for my name and went to the back and didn't see anything pending in the computer. I had to step outside due to no cell phone signal just to pull up my email order confirmation. Then I had to wait in line again (the first time, okay, but the second time). Anyway, the same cashier assisted me and I gave her my phone with the emailed pulled up so she can look up my order number. I had to wait for them to prepare the order, which didn't take long. Once the cashier handed me my order, I asked her what was the issue. She stated that my order was showing complete in the system. I'm not sure if someone mistakenly picked my order or was it placed in a "completed" status by accident. Bottom line: I was not satisfied with the customer service I received. The cashier was fine; however, I don't think I should have waited in line the second time. The manager, Liz, was right there and did nothing to help or didn't seem to care. read more
