To me, Jersey Mike's subs always smell and taste amazing. The seem to stay fresh and not soggy, and I find the ingredients are of good quality. However, this was my first time walking into an actual Jersey Mike's establishment, and as such, I was not too familiar with the process. The first server wrongly anticipated my order by assuming I wanted turkey, didn't confirm it with me and seem irritated when I corrected her. Granted I should've asked, I did not know there was an option to get my bread, cheese and meat toasted. When I asked what dressings were offered, i was told mustard, oil and vinegar I believe. It took the ONLY helpful server there to inform me that there were other dressings out of sight, which he listed, in case I was interested apart from the only ones on the counter. Safe to say, while I enjoy the sandwiches from this chain, I'll order it over the app for pick up the next time I'm in the mood. read more

This the second time trying Jersey Mike's. The first time was two days ago at the Columbia/Elkridge location. I ordered the same regular size sub but changed the bread and swapped out mayo for the rw vinegar (which I could barely taste) - everything else was the same. My sub here felt significantly less satisfying - less meat and bread that seemed a little stale. I could barely taste the meat compared to two days ago where the sub from the other location felt more full, could taste the meats more, and bread was fresher. The positives: Employees are very friendly and helpful, and the place is clean. The negatives: The slicer is set so thin that we could see the outline of the employee's hand through each slice of cheese. The turkey was sliced so thin that it fell apart resulting in turkey globs being added to my wife's Club Supreme "sub in a bowl", and the pepperoni in my #13 Original Italian was so thin I first thought they forgot to add it, but once I found it in my sandwich, I showed a piece of it to my wife and we debated which was thicker: a sheet of standard copier paper, or a pepperoni slice from Jersey Mike's Germantown location. We ended up agreeing that the Jersey Mike's pepperoni was actually thinner than a sheet of paper. Sorry Jersey Mike's, with skimpy ingredients like what we experienced, we probably won't be back for quite a while. read more

Upon a strong recommendation from a friend, he kept saying you gotta try Jersey Mike's. I had gone to the Columbia, MD location in March 2017 and was disappointed in the value, and didn't remember it tasting all that great. On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, I decided to give it another try with my g/f (now -ex). I had a birthday coupon, which lasts for the entire year after your birthday! But I did bring business into their store as I brought my g/f & her daughter. Since my sandwich was free regardless I got the more expensive hand-curved roast beef sandwich. I ordered quickly, but I had to wait a little while for my g/f to decide as well as she needed to get her daughter to figure out what she wanted. While I was eating my sandwich, my g/f & I commented on how pink the meat was. I went up to the sandwich maker to ask, and they explained that it is supposed to be like that. We do ours on the rare side here. He politely said if you don't like it, we can make you another sandwich. I was skeptical as I was imagining Firehouse Subs, Jimmy John's, or some other sub place, but I gave it a chance, and it actually tasted great. Side note I really got into slime since my g/f's daughter loved playing with the stuff (which is what the kids are doing these days; like Silly Putty in our day, but much better.). I got glitter on my hands, but in this RARE instance, getting glitter on my hands was worth it. The staff was smiling at our slime antics at the table. When we left, they have a button you can press showing how satisfied you were. I pressed the big smiley face. My g/f's daughter pressed the big smiley face like 20 times, and I joked that the corporate office is seeing all the smileys come in at this Germantown store saying wow this store is doing great! Overall, I would recommend the roast beef, and while the rare roast beef threw me off, I didn't get sick, and it was quite tasty. But the roast beef is quite a bit more than turkey (at least $2 more). I tried the turkey from the Wheaton location in March, and the turkey was still very good. read more

They have really good bread so they step up to the top tier of the Sandwich world! I love their addons as well. They always have fresh lettuce and good veggies. That isn't easy in Maryland (the tomatoes are average at best). I love their picklets and the folks at the store are friendly and nice. Overall you can't go wrong with Jersey Mikes. I went last Wednesday for their Grand Opening. I had never hear of it but apparently they are a chain restaurant. Everyone was friendly and happy to be there. The line was nearly out the door (its a good sign) and it moved rather quickly. I had my $1.00 sub (with a donation to the local fire department of course!) in about 5-10 minutes. Everything was fresh (bread, veggies, and meats). I had the Club Supreme (turkey, roast beef, swiss and bacon) complete with Mike's Way (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil, vinegar and spices). I think it is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. When I'm out in that way again I will definitely stop by again. read more

Ever since visiting (my now second home) Austin, I've been a fan of JM. It all began when SisL purchased her fave #13 original Italian cold sub. Two sections remained from that giant-size order. I asked then curiously reached for one. After taking a bite it made sense. Maintained its structure and 'twas freshly delicious. I get it. Yum. I really like their bread. It's capable of holding everything in while still having a pleasant chewy mouthfeel. The staff members at this address are friendly, courteous, and efficient. Great team. They thinly slice their meats and cheeses per order which is fun to watch. Mini performances. Speedy hands at work. At times they are a bit heavy handed with the vinegar and oil blend so FYI about that. To each their own so request to your liking. Bonus points for thinly slicing the onions too. Yes. My two faves are #13 the original Italian cold sub and #17 Jersey Mike's famous Philly hot sub. Mainly thanks to my SisL and BroS. They know good eats and I agree with their taste. Most of the staff was not only non friendly but they seemed to be aggravated with one another. It made for a poor experience in the store and I was just ordering carry out. Also it took 10 minutes for someone to take my order and I was the only person in the store. I understand they have online orders but if you have a customer standing right in front of you, that should be the priority. Went in on Saturday night and purchased 2 subs, one for me and one for my husband. Mine sandwich was fine, however, my husbands sandwich had toppings on it that I didn't ask for. I called back the same night about 4 minutes before closing and no one answered the phone. We called back on Sunday right when they opened and spoke to the manager there at the time and she told us that if we didn't freeze the sub and bring it back in there's nothing she could do about it. I was asked to call back and speak with the General Manager which I did just now and he asked me to hold and the phone hung up. I called back and he said, "we're really busy right now, can you call back in 2 hours", I verified I was speaking with the GM, Christian, and I asked for the owner and he said that he had no information for him. I ask to speak with The managers they come out as a duo and show zero empathy and offer no solution for my wasted time. You can get it your way or "Mike's Way" (Oregano, S&P, and Vinegar).
