a little background- I've never really had pupusas so this would be my first real food experience with them. I ordered takeout online and went to the location. The restaurant is located inside the back of a liquor store. I got 3 pupusas: cheese ($2.75), chicken ($2.75), and revuelta ($2.75) which has pork, beans, and cheese. The pupusas came with a type of coleslaw and a sauce. As a first timer I can say that the pupusas were solid. If I was ranking the pupusas I tried I'd say: 1- revuelta, 2-chicken, and 3-cheese. All in all, this is a solid location that serves decent pupusas. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other items like the steak n cheese with fries. read more

I'd go back and try it again. Manager was very friendly, pupusas were made to order, everything was very good. I liked the house-made verde sauce as well. It has that very authentic casual but sketch vibe to it. The bathroom smelled into the table area and everyone else who worked there kind of just looked at the white guy out of the corner of their eye like I was Immigration. No smiles. But, the manager spoke great English and promised new things as they get settled. The food was very good. The price was fair. I'll visit again when I'm in the mood for Pupusas! I would give this place 5 stars if the service was a bit faster. We ordered the pupusas and tacos and waited over a half an hour. We took them home abs crushed them!!! 1- The short lady cooking, was eating her dinner when the manager told her to finish prepping my order. So the short lady got mad grabbed my jalapeño with bare hand and threw it into fryer. 2- The meat was half fat/greasy. That was most of my meat...fat. Above all, i wont eat Carne Asada from there again. I will try the pupusas to give this place a last chance. I hope the manager knows English and reads this. MUST TRY hole in the wall! My husband and I are pretty picky when it comes to buying Salvadoran food. This place is AMAZINGLY GOOD. Their Torta de Milanesa and Revuelta Pupusas are our favorites. The portions are on the larger side. We typically share the Torta. The sandwich has jalapeños which is a great addition for spice lovers. Even the fries it comes with are crispy and tasteful The Pupusas are a must have! They're packed with filling, cheesy, and delicious! We frequent often. The prices can't be beat. read more

This place recently opened inside of our Local Beer and Wine store. I have now been there five times and it is incredible! Be sure to call ahead as everything is made when you order it. For example, the Fried Chicken is hand breaded and fried when you order it and it takes about 25 minutes. Items that we have eaten and loved: Fried Chicken Meal, Steak and Chicken Tacos (reminds me of Street Tacos), several types of Papusa's. Everything has been fresh, delicious (even re-heated), the sauces and sides are terrific as well. Christian (believe that he is the owners son) works in the front and is knowledgeable, patient (I ask a lot of questions), and genuinely enjoys conversing with the guests. Keep in mind that there are only a few seats but picking it up to-go is an excellent option. read more

I saw the small red street signs around, and I finally decided to give them a try one night for family take-out dinner. Wow! What fantastic food, and at such great prices! We had six pupusas of various types, four tacos of both types, and one yuca de chicarrone plate to share. Everything was made fresh as I waited. And everything tasted amazing! We LOVED the pupusas and tacos, and the chicarrones were to die for. Not to mention the whole thing was just $30 total. We made margaritas at home and feasted, with leftovers. It is a tiny hole-in-the-wall kitchen behind the liquor store in a strip center, and it's well worth the search to find it! In fact, it's what we now do for dinner at home many Friday or Saturday nights, with margaritas and a movie. Yum! read more

I finally got around to visiting this spot after 2 FABULOUS recommendations and I was highly satisfied! I think I've found my new pupusa spot. The place was hard to locate at first because it's inside of a liquor store. However, the food is fresh to order. I enjoyed my pupusas (chicken, revuelta, and chicharron). It has some jalapeños in it which gave it a little spice and a lot of flavor. It was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful for newcomers. Did not expect to leave a negative review but here I am. I visited twice shortly after they opened and had a great experience. I quickly started referring local friends and coworkers. Was even able to have a nice chat with the owner and the owners son and was excited for a new local spot for pupusas. Their website advertises daily specials as well as large order pupusa specials. I had a group of out of town guests equally excited to try pupusas for the first time but when I called the order in, I was told the website is not accurate (but has been up for several months?!) and they would not honor the specials as shown. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told I was in fact speaking to the manager. If that weren't enough, he then proceeds to tell me that, yeah, a lot of people have called in to order only to be told the specials would not be honored and have complained too. It's disappointing--the obvious false advertising and lack of accountability or any decent management. I always try and seek out the small, local places and spread the word. It's obvious these guys aren't interested in maintaining a good reputation. La Casita Pupuseria will have my business again. read more
