We went into this Panera Bread expecting to have a wonderful experience like we've had at the other locations we've been to...We walked into this location wanting to purchase 2- $50.00 gift cards...We started at one register and the lady had us swipe our credit card 3 times ( which would've totaled $75.00) she kept saying that something was wrong and the she called for another girl to come help, she got to the register and had no clue as to what was going on...so we moved to another register and had us swipe our credit card another 2 times (totaling $50.00) then she would state the card information would come up as invalid and the register would freeze up.....We cancelled that fiasco and just placed our order....I ordered the turkey & avocado BLT (NO TOMATO) with chips and undetermined pastry and my husband ordered a tomato soup sandwich and undetermined pastry...When we got our order, the manager who had taken our order had put in that I wanted to MAYO and I had to pick off the tomato....thank goodness that I wasn't allergic to tomatoes.....We finish our lunch and go to pick out a pastry...We start looking and there are flies every where! 9 to be exact, you can see one of them on the chocolate chip photo I just posted...2 of the flies were fighting over the chocolate canolis and 2 others were getting it on over the blueberry scones....We told the manager about this problem and all she could say was: "Yes, sir I'll take care of that.....Yep, i see the picture sir.....I'll take care of it...." basically telling us, "Yep, I see it.....shut up about it and get out of my store...you're going to scare away other business" and, just as we thought we sat outside watching to see if she did anything about it and she never even went over to take care of it....she grabbed a broom and went to sweeping something...this is the WORST service we have EVER received from a Panera Bread! read more

This place is a mess. I ordered bagels and cream cheese tubs and opted for rapid pick up when I went to work and opened the box there were only bagels and no cream cheese . I called the store and asked to speak to the manager twice at both times the manager was busy. I myself ordered a blueberry bagel and being the only order that they had it took them 10 minutes to bring out a toasted blueberry bagel. read more

When you walk in you have a choice of standing in line and placing your order with a clerk at a register or using a terminal-based self-service system. We chose the later which turned out to be not very intuitive and rather confusing. My wifer ordered a chicken chipotle avocado melt and I ordered a steak and white cheddar panini. After completing our order we waited, and waited, and waited to be called to the pick-up counter. After a long wait, I made inquiry at the counter and was told that the order was not received at the prep station, and that this happens with the self-service system. We were then offered our choice of complimentary desserts. We returned to our table and again waited, and waited until I returned to the pick up counter and found our orders to be ready. The chicken chipotle avocado melt was pretty good, the steak and white cheddar panini not so much, The desserts were fair. We won't be returning. read more

Went there today to get lunch /dinner.. Bought a salad and soup and specifically told them to give me extra dressing for my salad Mind you it wasn't busy.. When I got to work and finally sat down to eat, they didn't give me utensils to eat my salad with and the extra salad dressing... They gave me two little containers... Started off okay beautiful location. With a good selection of bagels but then my boyfriend ordered his sandwich and then she suggested another sandwich that wasn't even close to what he ordered. Which is fine I guess but at this point we are both hungry. We get our number it buzzes we go pick up our food from the window. My boyfriend didn't realize the cream cheese wasn't on my plate so when I went back to ask for it before the guy gave it to me he said with attitude and a nasty facial expression "Next time ask for it when your ordering" to which I replied "actually I did thank you very much" and he replied oh. Customer service literally ruined my experience and the manager was standing right there and didn't say anything. read more

New store in Garner, NC is a welcome addition to something different in the area. Like the food and the calorie information on the meals. However, their service has much to be desired. Just left there (7/1/2016) at 7:30 PM and when my wife asked the girl for bread...she said "we ran out", no explanation or alternative choices noted. When asking of explanation of 2 different calorie values on the food..same girl behind the counter said "I don't know" (and she wasn't about to ask)...she didn't care and just had a smirk on her face. The manager was of little help and explained that they normally run out of bread everyday (which the leftovers are supposed to be donated?) Go to the table, all dirty with crumbs all over...we had to clean it. We like the food at Panera and company philosophy, always enjoyed the location in North Hills in Raleigh. Flies, flies and more flies all over the baked goodies at the front counter! Paneras really need to come up with a cover to keep these items protected from flies! Very unappetizing and nasty! I did rapid pickup. My order was correct and on time. When I went in to pick up my order, I opened my straw to put it in my drink and accidentally dropped it on the ground. Before i could even pick up my straw, an employee noticed that I dropped my straw and said "oh did you drop your straw? I'll get you a new one" and got me a new one. Even though this experience is what you would typically expect when you go to a restaurant, I thought I would give them points for it bc it seemed so opposite of what I expected based on other reviews. First time here and let me tell you the staff is so accommodating. Gary was our cashier and he was so patient and helpful. He explained different options with my sandwich and that he could grill my bread so my avocado didn't melt. I felt at home. Definately made us feel welcome! read more

My 1st and last visit to Panera. $26 for 2 half subs, 2 small soups,2 drinks! I asked for sweet tea and there was none to be found, only unsweetened and you add sugar as desired. The person taking our order never mentioned you had to make your own. Crusty bread served with soup was so hard and tough, I could not chew it. Did not care for the broccoli/cheese soup and the Cuban sandwich had a strange taste to it. You have to go pick up your food and for that cost, it's unacceptable that they cannot bring your food to your table. There was more staff there than customers, most of whom were drinking coffee and using WI-FI and not eating. I went back to counter when leaving and asked for a refund for the sweet tea ( I drank water. ) She tried to convince me that all I had to do was add the sugar to it to make it sweet...ah, NO! That method has never worked for me. I did receive the refund and was offered a cookie which I did not accept. Wished we would have spent our money elsewhere. read more

This Panera is terrible. We've been there twice and for the amount of money you spend on the food, we could get better food/service elsewhere. The staff is very unfriendly and don't seem to care, the floors were filthy, the tables were sticky and the salad was soggy and not fresh. The bread tasted stale and hard. We normally love Panera and we've eaten at the one in Cary and Raleigh numerous times. We were originally thrilled that a Panera was going in at White Oak, but the last time we ate there, it was during the dinner rush and there was practically nobody in the place. I think it's catching on that it's not a great Panera. I wish someone would raise the standard there because we'd eat there more, but it's not worth the money to me right now. read more

Every time I order food from this location I end up disappointed. I stopped using the drive thru for a while because my order was always wrong. I decided to take a chance tonight because I really do like the food. I made a bad choice. I ordered a whole sandwich with a cup of soup which they charged me for. My wife and I are very disappointed in the recent menu changes at Panera Bread. We normally visit Panera 2-3 times per week, but after being advised of the changes and finding out that cinnamon rolls have been changed drastically (much smaller and drenched in icing), and that the Cobblestone has been discontinued altogether, we tried new offerings but didn't care for them. We haven't been back since. A shame since we gave several Panera gift cards to family members for Christmas. read more

A couple days ago, my girlfriend and I went here for the second time because they had really good food. However, my girlfriend specifically ordered a salad with dressing on the side plus extra dressing with that. But they messed up her order and failed to give her the extra dressing and when she went up to ask for the extra dressing, the person there instead decided to speak to a co-worker instead of serving my girlfriend and to add insult to injury, the worker cracked a very rude joke about her. We both love the food very much but we just wish the service was better. read more

Plenty of room for seating but I was disappointed with quality of the Chicken Cobb salad. It seemed like it was just thrown together..only ate half of my half salad. .soup was good. They dont have the full menu that is shown on line and the ordering area was cramped. This is the last time I will visit this location. I said that last month, but I mean it now. I have not had one pleasant visit to this place since it opened during the summer. This time I got hair on my sandwich. !!! I had to drive back to the restaurant for another sandwich. The second sandwich I got looked like someone took a bite out of the top layer of bread. I was so frustrated but did not have the energy to drive back for a third sandwich or refund. Oh, yeah, by the way, the cashier doesn't like her job. Neither does the manager - he was standing at the pick-up station with his head in his hands like he was so tired and didn't want to be there. Only one person had ordered before me, yet I waited for nearly 20 minutes for a simple sandwich that usually takes barely 10 minutes to make. Needs a more proactive manager. Front door, tables, coffee area all dirty. I have had several orders filled incorrectly using drive-through. Have been when a daily soup was not available, a particular sweetner not available and chips not available. Once returned home with an order placed at the drive-through to find the sandwich I ordered was missing three key ingredients! Called and asked to speak to the manager: his response was "what would you like me to do". In my book, not an appropriate response. How about, "I am really sorry and would like to offer you a free meal." He did that, but only after I requested it. Totally unimpressed with this place. read more

Ordered soup and two sandwiches for take-out. Got home and one of the sandwiches, which was supposed to have a variety of cold cuts, had NO meat - just lettuce, tomato and mayo. Called the store and the acted like they 1) didn't believe it and 2) simply didn't care. They asked if we were coming back for another sandwich but it was too far and not worth it. They got our address and said they would send a coupon for a free-something. It has been a month and no coupon (not that we are planning to go back). What ever happened to "the customer is first" or "the customer is always right"? Customer service is a lost art. I visit Panera locations frequently. I was very happy when one came to Garner. I have found that employees at this store could use customer service training. On several occasions the window staff have been rude. Tonight I went there again and it was the last straw for me, The young woman at the window was short and sarcastic when I asked her a question about a side garden salad. I advised her of her rudeness and said I would like to speak with her manager stating "that was not the way a customer should be treated." I mentioned to this young lady that I deal with customers everyday and would never speak to someone with such a curt and disrespectful attitude. I then heard her laughing with some of her colleagues which made me more furious. Since there were not any cars behind me, I then pulled up to the window and asked for the manager. I was not impressed with the manager as all he said was "I'll take care of it." I told him that I have found several employees at this location lacking in their customer service skills. He offers no response and this only confirms for me that the manager too needs training. I hope the owner looks into employee training because in my mind this location is an embarrassment to the Panera brand. read more

I absolutely love this Panera! I visit it on average 3 times per week and I'm always greeted with a warm welcome and a great deal of help from the front of the house staff. One employee, (I really wish I could recall her name right now but I'm drawing a blank) makes me want to stop by every day. I order a special for my coffee and she makes me feel special by knowing it every time. All other staff have treated me well with the exception of one or two, but I charge it to there heads not there hearts. At least 85-95% of the staff I've worked with have been great. They're like any other restaurant...they get busy, they have shift changes and they have new employees at times. With this, patience and understanding on behalf of the customer may be needed. I've worked in the restaurant world and they all have ebbs and flows. I think as they get adjusted as a new store, they'll be just as fabulous as all other Panera's. I'm a fan...love the food...love the atmosphere...and even when they're out of something, I love that there's enough variety to get something else great.
