The bread was excellent which is a great thing because my sandwich had very little else to it. I ordered the chicken, bacon, ranch, but there was hardly any meat or sauce in it. Sauce was concentrated on one corner, but no where else. This is my second attempt to understand the hype of Panera and I still can't get behind the craze. My husband got the bread bowl Mac and Cheese and he liked it a lot, so at least there was that. Again, stellar bread, but lackluster sandwich, especially for almost $15. Took my wife and daughter to dinner there on Wednesday, May 8 around 6:30 PM. The service was non-existent. The food was despicable. It was a horrible experience. I will never go back. I asked for a knife and fork. The girl at the counter handed me both in plastic. I said I wanted to get them in metal. She said that I needed to go to the next window to get them in metal. The girl could have walked between the windows to hand me a metal knife and fork. It was a ridiculous example of "no service." The food was left over from the lunch business. Nothing special about this Panera Bread compared to others. Consistently good food for relatively higher prices and relatively smaller portions. The food was fresh and very tasty. We shared an apple chip salad with sliced chicken breast. We don't recommend getting this dish to-go however because the apple chips will become limp and soggy. We suggest that they place these on the side to travel. The service was moderately fast (considering they do make every item fresh to order - a plus) and friendly. The restaurant was clean with only a couple of nonbussed tables. Nobody had a sense of urgency to get them cleaned. Overall, if you came hungry you will leave hungry. I haven't had Panera in over 8 years but I was craving some soup. I ordered delivery which I never do, but my job gave me a $25 gift card. I ordered the tomato soup with grilled cheese at around 7pm on a friday. I guess they were out, because they gave me plain bread. I felt so poor eating it (I was sick and needed something to eat). What I ordered: Greek Salad $7.69 French Baguette Extra Red Grape Tomatoes Extra Pepperoncini Extra Greek Dressing Extra Black Pepper Croutons No Kalamata Olives No Red Onions I was trying to decide on a full size or 1/2 size and was "kinda" glad I decided on the full. What I got: A large plastic salad that was barely filled to the 1/2 way point. (Maybe the same size as the 1/2 salad if it was in a small bowl filled. My extra Pepperoncini was ONE pepper! My extra croutons amounted to 6 croutons! My buddy extra dressing was 2 - 1/2 filled containers! Lettuce portion was the size of a small salad portion! When I took off the lid my wife asked why I asked for "light" feta cheese as it was literally a dusting of cheese. Not one single crumble just some cheese dusted on top! Where do they get the employees and managers that work in Panera? These people could not hold a job anywhere else. Most of the time your order is completely wrong, and they don't care or understand what you are saying. Ordered a bagel the other day and it came out completely burnt. I attempted to speak to the blonde manager on duty. Instead of apologizing and offering to redo it, she started bitching and saying that 'she' didn't anything wrong. Since it was my order and not hers, it didn't matter what she thought. What attitude for someone supposedly in charge. Standing in line, I noticed that she had the same attitude with the customers in front of me. The only thing she is qualified to do is clean toilets in road stop bathroom. Rapid checkout is a joke! Placed my order at 10:10 for an 11:20 pick up, just now leaving at 12:15! When I first arrived they looked for my order and could not find it. One employee asked me to wait while he completed my order so I patiently waited. However, that was not my water they did not even check their email to see if they had a large online order. The manager had to build my 11 sandwiches and five salads himself while the other employees employees attended the lunch crowd. He did verify the order was correct but we shall see. This Panera used to be good, but had gone down hill the past few years under new management. DO NOT GO HERE. I can't say how I know but I know for a fact that they consistently have product out of date (expired) behind the food prep line and could care less if it's up to health code standard. Ordered from the kiosk because there was no cashier/employee in sight. Got a text that my order was ready and walked back to the pick up area. The bag looked small for three complete meals; I asked about that and the man said "there it is" in a snippy voice. I asked about the glasses for my drinks (3) and he waved his hand over in the direction of the cups. I asked about a drink carrier (3 drinks, remember) and by then a young lady with red hair offered to get me one. Mr Snippy was no longer assisting customers. I got the drink carrier, juggled the bag with the food, got the drinks and made it home. Sure enough, my daughter's order of Mac and cheese was missing! And the bread for my sandwich was so stale I just scraped the chicken salad off and ate it with no bread. Panera used to be a good option when you didn't want burgers. I am trying to stay alive. Liked Panera's until yesterday Jan 19 2021. I went in with masks as always. I am old and have an autoimmune disease but regardless the treatment I got was horrible for anyone. I placed and paid and asked the girl to please bring it to my car parked right in front of the door. She said pick it up inside at kitchen opening. Told her I did not want to wait inside. She said it is quick. Told her I wanted not to be inside for more than 5 minutes as CDC says. She said again it will be quick. She handed me my pastries then left. So discussed, I went to where she said I had to go. Waited 10 minutes when she showed up and said are you missing something? ( as though she had not just waited on me at register.) .Said yes, my sandwich. Which I noticed no one was working on. After a few moments told her I can't stay inside I will be waiting in my car. Another person was waiting too and had asked someone going in if they would check on their order. In Gainesville, GA Covid rates are at their highest ever. Deaths from Covid are at their highest ever as well. Gainesville Hospital is at full capacity and a gym has been opened to handle some overflow. And this is when Panera's decides not to give cubside service? This is 100% unacceptable. They also don't request customers to honor wearing masks. It was another 15 minutes before she brought out my order. There appeared not to have a manager there at 10:23 AM. These "children" need constant supervision. They also do not make sandwiches in a sanitary way and I am always hearing customers say their food, esp. soup is cold. This once was a safe place to eat but not any more. read more

Definitely not the consistent Panera I was used to Update: So I have started going to Panera again. Ugh, it pains me to say this, but this location is just awful. The staff is never pleasant and still, always out of things and they never contact you to let you know (I place an online order for pickup and unlike other locations, they give you no heads up). So in addition to the orders not being correct, I have seen a great lack of consistency. I always order the same sandwich and it's a crap shoot of what you will actually get - cheese may or may not be melted, might be on a flatbread or on the roll, may be one slice of beef or three. We went to lunch today for soup and salads. There was a long line, no problem. After waiting for 30 min and not seeing our name on the computer screen we ask the manager and the man running food to the tables if this was an issue. They both actually ignored my question. After another 15 min I went to the cashier to check the status. She was a pleasant girl, however no explanation. I ask for a refund. The manager came to approve the refund with NO apology, no works if acknowledgment or explanation of why we waited a total of 50 min on soup and salad. The manager was rude and I watched as he wore gloves while he touched the screen and the SAME gloves to walk behind the counter to prepare food without changing gloves. I have given this location quite a few try's just because I love Panera so much. Every single time I have gone into this location the service is terrible. The first time it was a younger girl who took five minutes to even ask us if we wanted to order. And the entire time we were ordering she had the worst attitude. We said thank you and there was never a you're welcome. The food was alright.. the soup wasn't hot and everything was just average compared to what I've gotten at other locations. I also noticed that the assistant manager was kind of a jerk, which might be why all the workers look miserable. Today I had the pleasure of ordering from the assistant manager. But same thing happened, I waited five to ten minutes on someone to even serve me. The couple in front of me ordered and went on, the manager looked at me and proceeded to just talk to a coworker about the weekend. He finally walks to the register and just stares at me, doesn't say anything nice or welcoming and he just waits on me to order. Very awkward and just rude. So I ordered and finally by the end of my order he was kind of nice to me. Well I love Panera ! But sadly the last three visits here have left me with incorrect food and attitude. Had a craving for soup and decided to come to Panera. Upon entering we grabbed a menu and joined the short line that way we would know what we wanted when it was our turn. As the cashier took our order he was very distracted and seemed only to want to rush us on. We then grabbed a table and waited for our food to arrive. After 17 mins of waiting my Mom went in search of our food she was told it was on its way at 12:27. At 12:31 our food finally arrived and my mom asked the delivery person if there were any issues since our food had taken so long. This gentleman walked away without saying anything, the next attendee was asked the same question and he walked away while we were still talking to him.
