The food is always good, to bad the people handing it out aren't. They let one person sit a a 4 person booth all day on their computer. They only have like 5 booths. They should have signs up saying 30 minute time limit At the tables. My husband and I have really been going to Panera quite often, but we are starting to rethink about going there. read more

Not good. The staff is unfriendly and absolutely did not care if we got what we wanted or not. When we asked if we could still order breakfast, the answer we got was - "well you can try." I did get a frittata and it's not good. Way too much flour. We will not be back. read more

This place is pretty much as you would expect. I dropped by to grab a bowl of soup. Food is acceptable, but nothing great. I usually get the wild rice soup which comes with a piece of bread by default. Clearly, this is a popular place to stop for lunch. But having to use the "machines" to enter an order is truly a time waster; especially when the app on a phone is not working. The food? When we went into the Gainesville, Virginia, store we had trouble finding a clean table. Most were dirty. No one seemed to be cleaning them, even though there was staff everywhere. After we ordered, it took awhile to get our food. it wasn't crowded so we were surprised. I ordered the Asian salad with chicken. the salad was very sad looking. When we picked up the food, I noticed how bad the salad looked. The lettuce was wilted, old. And it was small for what I ordered. As I went to eat the chicken, I noticed it was in big clumps - frozen clumps !! There was ice on it. I usually let things go at restaurants, but this time I didn't. I couldn't even eat the salad. I took it up to get a refund. The staff couldn't have cared less. They refunded my money. No one cared that the chicken was frozen. No one cared I wasn't happy. We will never go back to this Panera or any other. There are too many good places to eat. read more

Broccoli cheddar soup is really really good. pastries are great. some of the sandwiches are really wonderful. I wish staff at both of the Panera I do go to or happier. I am seeing this across all places though not enough people want to work and it makes it hard for those who do. I wish more people were smiling because when you come in and get your coffee in the morning and a pastry or a bagel we enjoy it, and we wish that the staff even though we smile and they get a smile when we say good morning and have a wonderful day that they carry that through. when you can't cook at home Panera is a great spot for breakfast or lunch and their takeout is really fast. Consistency and quality is the same from one coast to the other which I am very thankful for. Sometimes the floors get a little dirty and tables not cleaned at the gainesville but I think that's also due to staffing problems not because they don't want it to be. Overall there are days I come in once to twice getting coffee and lunch or something for the drive home read more

Disappointing day. They have dropped a favorite of spinach artichoke soufflé and the coffee was cold

The first time I've been to Panera in at least 6 months and now I remember why. Ordered with a live human cashier and that was my first mistake, because Daniella didn't enter in fully half of our order. To his credit the server who brought the order went to make it right when I mentioned the lack of food for my kids. Still, I had completely finished my meal and still nothing for them, so I did the smart thing and went to the kiosk to order their food. 5 minutes later, there it was, and the order was correct. Lesson learned, use the kiosk, your order will be correct and you'll get it quicker. Now for the food itself, I ordered the green goddess salad and the half portion size I ordered was more than large enough, however the quality of the lettuces was evidently not monitored as I received an enormous (brown) chunk of stem in mine. The hard boiled egg had also seen better days and looked chewed up. Overall, the meal was just meh, and that's why the two stars rating. Quantity does not trump quality for me, and quality was definitely lacking here. As for service, they might as well not have human cashiers if they can't get an order right. Verdict, it'll be a long long time before I come back again. There are better fast options for less. read more

In general, I like Panera - I'm just extremely disappointed in their breakfast. We ordered a bagel, an egg, cheese and bacon brioche sandwich and 2 cappuccinos. The Asiago cheese bagel, something we usually get, was fine - great even. The breakfast sandwich was comically small (see pictures). It was absolutely dwarfed by the bagel, coming in around a mere 3" in diameter. It was even smaller than the coffee lid. Maybe I'm used to the sizes of breakfast sandwiches from BK, McDs and Starbucks (and maybe this speaks to portion sizes from these places) but for the price ($5.39 + tax!!!), I expect more. Finally the "cappuccinos". It was just coffee with milk. Not the characteristic foaming milk that would identify the beverage as a cappuccino tor anyone, just integrated milk. You can take a look at the pictures, but we'd be even hard pressed to even call this a caffe latte, as it's so weak I can't believe this started with espresso shots, and was most likely just made with regular drip coffee. And for the price - $4.09 + tax for each regular size??? Horrible and shameful. read more

I love the strawberry juice, you just have to be careful especially with kids it has a lot caffeine.

Mixed reviews for this place. On the one hand, I had a good bowl of chili here recently, On the other hand, during another visit - I had a breakfast sandwich - sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel. They slit the bagel, slid the premade ingredients into the slot, microwaved it until it was hotter than Hades, and served it up. The result? A soft, mushy bagel that burned the hell out of my mouth. Panera - learn to toast the bagels! I won't be ordering any breakfast sandwiches from them ever again! read more

Honestly don't get all the bad reviews for this location. Service, food and cleanliness of the place has never been an issue for us. Have never had a bad meal here and never waited long any time we have ordered at the front or via the app and we've been there when it's been really crowded. The quality of service at Panera (Gainesville) continues to decline rapidly. I went for lunch w/my wife today, I ordered a full sandwich and a cup of soup, I told the cashier 3x, not the combo, what did I get, half a sandwich and a cup of soup. This site is very inconsistent in quality - I ordered the Asian Sesame Salad with Chicken today - the last time I got it a few months ago it was excellent - tonight it was basically tasteless and it looked nothing like the picture on the ordering site. If I had ordered it for dining in I would have asked for a refund. The Romaine was pretty anemic looking - the chicken was tasteless, the wonton noodles were stale and the dressing didn't even help to perk up the salad - if there were almonds in there I missed them. I should have walked out when I was ordering because it was obvious there was no supervisor on duty. Won't be back again - which is too bad - a well run Panera has very good food. There are too many other restaurants in the area that are much better than this Panera. read more

This location continues to disappoint. It is overpriced and they are so inconsistent with how they handle orders they are unable to fulfill. Sometimes they substitute, sometimes they don't even bother and you pay for more than you get. Not good, and not worth dealing with them to have corrected. Better to just not go back. read more

Ordered to go for the chipotle chicken pizza . Cold and really nasty . Don't suggest .

IDK why i keep coming back to this Panera.. the broccoli cheese soup is always good but the sandwiches are sub par and overpriced. Every time I get anything with bacon on it, the bacon is never cooked. It looks like it's been frozen and left to thaw since they opened. This has happened more than once, too. I've since stopped ordering anything with bacon on it. Also, the silverware is usually clean but there was one occasion that my Mom and I both ordered soup, and the spoons that came with looked like they had been dug out of the bus bins and rinsed off after hours of sitting out to dry (ie; there was old, crusty soup all over the spoons). The only plus side is that this place is close and spacious. Otherwise, everything is overpriced and undercooked. Always. read more

Stopped in this morning for a quick breakfast and coffee. Sounds so simple... but it was anything but simple. Cut to the chase- I left with nothing after getting a refund. There was nobody waiting in line so ordering should have been quick. There was a peculiar guy behind the counter just rushing around moving things from one place to another... kind of disturbing in nature. I finally he stopped shuffling things long enough to take my order. I saw that they had little egg and cheese tarts so I asked if they were heated up or just served from the bakery case. He told me that they were heated. He said that they were on a warm plate. Soooo I thought that meant that he would take one from the case and put it in an oven or toaster to warm it. Nope. He plopped it on a plate and called it a day. When I put my hand on it the tart was really cold and the cheese was melted and re-hardened. When I asked him to heat he told me that there was a microwave that I could use to heat it myself. Huh? You want me to spend $5 for a little tart that I have to microwave myself if I want it to be warm? Are you kidding me? I had already put in my unnecessarily overpriced drink order so I asked again for him to heat it. He walked over to a manager who explained that the tarts are cooked in an oven then put on a warming plate to keep them at 200 degrees. I explained to him that the whole thing was cold throughout so he told me about the customer microwave. At that point I just didn't want it so I asked him for my money back for the tart. I was going to order a bagel instead but the toaster was not on and it was stuffed with brown papers like paper towels. I can safely say that thing isn't going to be used. Not wanting an i toasted bagel I just dropped the notion of wanting to eat. I took my buzzer and waited for my drink. After a few minutes I my brain was asking why are you staying here for coffee but nothing to eat. I couldn't second guess that logic so I went up and asked for a refund for my drink since it hadn't been started yet. The cashier called for a manager. May I ask why you don't want your coffee? To which I replied something like I wanted warm food to eat with it and since that was not a possibility (unless I nuked it myself) I just wanted to leave with my money and end the whole transaction. Then that manager started telling me the same thing about how they go right from an I en to a 200 degree warming plate until served. Cue back to the disturbing guy who was shuffling tarts from one pan to another, even setting a bunch of them on top of the toaster... the cold one stuffed with paper. Remind me again how they are going to be kept warm! As he handed me back my money for my drink there was no apology offered... no help selecting something that would have been good... no options or suggestions... nothing. He was about as emotionless and disturbing as the guy who rang me up in the first place. I left and have no intentions to return. I have been going to Panera shops since the opened but had not been to this location. I have only had one time where I didn't like what I ordered and the manager not only refunded my money, packed up what I didn't like so I could take it for my husbands lunch, then he personally made my new order and brought it out himself... and it was perfect. The Panera shops closest to my home are always crowded and do a high volume. This one had no line and few customers that I could see. Perhaps they were all huddled around the microwave heating up breakfast! Needless to say, all three employees I encountered were oblivious to the art of customer satisfaction. read more

Dunno why people don't like this Panera. I think it's one of the bigger ones and I like it here. The staff is nice and friendly. I usually get one of the salads and french onion soup bread bowl. All Panera Breads are the same to be in terms of food quality and service. My favorite meal to get here is the you pick 2. For salads, I would recommend the Thai Chicken Salad, Fuji apple chicken salad, and Asian sesame salad. For soups, the Broccoli cheddar soup or bean soup. For sandwiches, the Chicken Frotega and Chicken avocado sandwich. What makes this location great is the outdoor seating! Not at all a baby friendly spot. It is impossible to get in line if you have a stroller. Luckily there was a really sweet lady behind me in line who said she knew I was in front of her and if I wanted to stand where I don't have to attempt to push the stroller through the obstacle course she would hold my spot. Today was horrible when I attempted to take the kids in for a quick snack. I ordered 2 bevereages and 2 pasteries. When I ordered I was never asked if I wanted the order for here or to go. It comes out on a platter and I ask for a bag even though my intention was to eat inside. When you are pushing a stroller the last thing you want to do it struggle with a tray and two beverages. The cashier looked at me like I was nuts like I wanted a bag?!? Plus their staff did not seem the least bit helpful....so wishing that someone could take it to my seat was wishful thinking!!! Well I made it to a side table to transfer the pasteries into a bag only for the bag to fall onto the ground and dump everything out! Back to square one. I stood in line and bought everything again...only because I had a hungry toddler..... had to fight the obstacle course of getting through the line. It just isn't my day. I won't be back alone anytime soon...atleast until the kids don't have to sit in a stroller. The fun times of having two kids under two....!!! read more

Yup, this place is terrible. Tried their new(ish) flatbreads. The girl said they were pretty small, so I bought two as she advised. Nope, one was plenty. It wasn't terrible but it certainly wasn't great. The flavors were so inconsistent. Parts of it were overly sweet while others were spicy. What? It also had some sort of black bean paste on it that left a chalky feel to my mouth. Not okay. It wasn't inedible, and there were moments I enjoyed it, but it was clearly processed and microwaved. Basically the bakery and cafe of McDonald's. Also, loved the loud teenagers swearing up a storm a few booths next to us. PASS. read more

This location is ok, not great, but ok. I am reviewing their mobile rapid pick up ordering & the food I got: mobile app was real easy to navigate. They did not have any bakery options available (maybe because it's always different?). You can pay with apple pay if you got it which I loved. Says it's ready in 10mins. Went to pick up my food & it was waiting for me on the pick up side out in the open which you can just grab it & go. It's seems like it's on the honor system because they literally leave it out & anyone can grab it. Not a biggie but I hope there is no mix ups in the future. Ordered the chicken soba noddles broth both w/half asian sesame side salad. Broth bowl is on the salty side but very flavorful. They give a nice portion. I loved the side salad a lot. I probably won't order a broth bowl again until winter time but I will definitely order a full salad. Other than that I don't think this Panera is super awesome or super crappy. It's your typical Panera. I do like their bagels too, wish it was on the mobile app ordering though. read more
