My husband and I went to lunch today here and it was possibly the worst meal I've ever had.

LOVEEEE THIS PANERAAAA!! This location looks like it's a restaurant. On my way back home from Tahoe, I wanted to stop for a soup and salad too hold me over through the Bay Area traffic. I went on Yelp, per usual and found this Panera. The staff Waac really nice, SUPER friendly and was patient while I looked at all the cool stuff my local Panera doesn't have, like tortellini!! My order didn't take long, but I got a regular Greek salad I instead of the modern Greek I ordered. I told the counter and they gave me a new salad right away!! Great customer service, clean, spacious location, and lots of variety!! Next time I'm in the are, I'll stop by! read more

I normally really like Panera but today was so disappointed when my husband brought me home lunch. I got a you pick 2 meal and as you can see in the picture, the Fuji apple chicken salad I got had tons of wilted lettuce. FYI the smoked pulled chicken is NoT undercooked.... it's smoked so it's going to have a pink tint to it. If you know anything about smoked meat it has a pinkish tint to the meat :) This location is great and has very friendly employees who all seem to work great together and the food is always fresh. :) if the food is not up to par for you they never have an issue fixing it. Jaw-droppingly bad service. I have been to a lot of Paneras in my life and I honestly don't expect much more than common courtesy, it's not a fancy restaurant and I'm sure they have high turnover in staff like all fast casual dining options. But when customers walk in and there is no one in line and not one, not two, but THREE employees at the cash register, you would think one of them might consider taking an order. Context: I ordered a dozen bagels and a sourdough loaf online ahead to pick up at 8:30am on a Saturday morning. Not an unusual order or a strange time of day for a bakery type establishment. I walked in and the woman who had entered in front of me was wandering around, looking a bit lost like she was not sure if she should go to the counter or get a seat or what. No one offered to help her. She continued to wander. Three employees were engaged in a gossipy conversation behind the two registers, I walk in and no one even looks my direction. I go over to the "to go"area and my order is not there. I approach the register. Still no acknowledgment. A few minutes later, I'm given this look of frustration like I'm a big interruption and asked "can I help you?" I explain the conundrum and the employee goes to the back. I can see her talking with the cook in the kitchen for several minutes, despite the fact my order is right there on the counter next to her. She slowly picks it up and walks back to give it to me with no apology for the delay or confusion. read more

I am sort of a Panera-head. I go to Panera a lot! I like it because it's not fast food, but is good food, fast. My review is for the Folsom location - my first time here at this one. The restaurant is in the Palladio Shopping Center on the North End of the center. There is ZERO street parking, but the giant parking garage is right next to the Panera. Parking is free and plentiful. This place is HUGE. You walk in and there are two seating areas right in front. Then as you keep walking towards the back there are more seating areas...then a giant open area at the very back. There is a fireplace. Free wi-fi. Lots of people hanging out on their laptops. Bathrooms are clean and fine. Employees were fine - not crabby, but not overly friendly. Food service was quick. I had my food before I had even chosen a place to sit. I had the sandwich and salad combo. I love the Strawberry Chicken Salad they have in Spring and Summer. It was fresh and crisp. My sandwich was exactly as ordered. I got tea to drink since I had a cold. There are about 10 tea choices to pick from, and honey also. I will definitely come back here again. The salad was delicious. It was what I would expect at any Panera location. However, I have always found the service at the front counter at this location lacking. They didn't have any large cold drink cups. The restaurant did not appear to have been cleaned after what was probably a busy lunch hour (I arrived at 1:30 PM). The restaurant was too cold. The parking situation is horrible. I know that's an issue for the mall, but it impacts your ability to easily visit this restaurant. read more

I really don't get the negative reviews for this place. I stop here every morning for my coffee and a pastry and it's always fresh and delicious. In the afternoon I'm there for a tasty sandwich and a cold drink. People please stop complaining about the prices. If you haven't noticed prices have risen everywhere. I'd rather pay $12 for a beautiful healthy sandwich here than same amount for a burrito filled with rice and god knows what else wrapped in a tortilla. My husband and I had lunch here and it was a big disappointment. I ordered the green goddess caprese melt. It was nothing as pictured or shown on their commercial. It had a tiny drizzle of green goddess, very few mushy tomatoes and very little mozzarella. The main flavor was sweet, awful peppers and bread. I couldn't eat it. My husband had the pepperoni mozzarella melt and his sandwich had very few pieces of pepperoni and hardly any cheese. Both were a waste of money. Tables that were empty weren't clean. Where do I start... my husband and I came here today for a chicken sandwich and a drink and waited over 30 min. In addition the staff was extremely rude. I visited this Panera with my mom and children, and it was not great. Most of the tables were dirty, and there was trash on the floor. The portions were tiny, and the teriyaki bowl that I ordered had way too much sauce. It is tremendously overpriced for what you get. $43 for 2 flatbreads, 2 drinks, and a rice bowl is ridiculous - I could go to a sit down restaurant and get much better food for the same price. In trying to support our local restaurants I went to the Panera in Folsom. We have recently moved from the Bay Area (where we have always had a good meal) to EDH. This is our second trip to the Folsom Panera and second disappointed meals. Tonight we ordered a group soup and a sandwich. When I got home my car seat was all wet. When I looked at the bag the top to the soup was not on securely and half of the soup had leaked out and soaked the sandwich and the bread making them inedible. After cleaning my car I called the store and spoke to Jill (I believe she was the manager on duty). I explained to her the issue and she said sometimes the lids do not get secured properly making it my problem I asked for a refund and she refused. I asked to talk to the general manager Chris and she said they were not available. I asked for the Gm to call me and I am waiting to hear back. We have had a lot of good meals at other Panera restaurants but we have struck out twice and will not go back. There are lots of other restaurants in the area and I would suggest you consider other restaurants. read more

I go in almost daily to many locations because I have the coffee subscription and this location has the sweetest, most friendly employees. They always chat with me and are so quick to be helpful even though they're often pretty busy. There's an older black woman who I think is a manager who makes my day sometimes because she's so friendly and her and her staff always remember how I like my order. I wanted to order a meal with a drink, but instead they asked me to leave their building and order over the phone or outside through the app but I can't pay cash online, so I was forced to not get food. Out here on the left coast, there are two main Panera franchisees: Pan American and Manna Development. This store is a Pan American store, and it was pretty typical of what you get from them. Location is pretty convenient - parking is in the garage behind the building, and there's room for oversized vehicles (not RV's, but bigger trucks) which is rare. They give you a buzzer here and you have to bus your own tables, which is common between Manna and Pan American. I tend to think Manna stores are cleaner, but this one was clean enough. Chicken noodle soup was decent - so was the Mac and cheese. read more

Came here tonight for dinner since I just want some sandwich and soup or salad. We ordered our food and they were out of most of the items on the menu. The place was disorganized. Customers did not know when their food is ready so we had to asked since we were sitting on the other side of the dining room. They had to yell the names of the customer. I noticed one of the customer was very upset she was telling us how they served their food especially the baguette bread that looked like a person just broke the bread by hand and just on top of her salad container. I thought that was weird. I'm not dying to be picky but I noticed that too when I ordered plenty of food for my work place where Panera just dumped all the baguette inside the bag mixed with utensils, butter.etc I thought it was unsanitary. Anyways, the lady did not even finished her meal and they both left upset and left the food at their table. We continue eating our meal then one of the staff started vacuuming the carpet! Well what the heck!!! Lol. I had to get up and kindly asked her to stop because people are still eating and that is so unsanitary. Then she said" I'm just vacuuming this area here", so I replied "please stop because we are still eating and now the dust are up in the air and it can go to our food" She finally stopped cleaning. I understand that they want to go home but I e never seen a place like that I think that was just rude lol. Now I would give her a break because they are teenagers but I think they have to learn the do's and don'ts when you are working at a restaurant. I ordered a tuna sandwich, which I often get from other locations, was the worst. More bread than tuna. The manager was rude. He placed my order on the counter, and after 2 min, i noticed it was mine. I went to pick it up, and he just thank you. My name wasn't even called. There was a young high school person who had an interview, it only lasted like a minute. This manager shared with his team I only ask 3 questions. That poor person who was excited ended up leaving with no excitement. What manager talks to other staff about interviews, they shouldn't. I was very disappointed in the Spinach Artichoke Souffle -my go to breakfast. The souffle was undercooked. It was almost runny when cutting into it. This was my first experience at this particular Paneras. In all the years of being a customer I have never received this poor of a quality product. In addition, I do not know why when you order a latte it is not automatically served in a cup or mug. If I'm a dine in customer why should I have to specify a cup or mug rather than a paper cup. All Panera food is pretty much the same, yummy. This review is for the FOLSOM CA location. Cashiers are not familiar with menu and frequently get orders wrong. Took 30 min for an iced coffee. I have been charged twice for one meal. Watch your credit card receipt! Lines back up because lack of staff. It appears this location I constantly training staff so they never get good at what they do. Seems there a turnover problem larger then their other locations. read more

Panera has really gone downhill over the last few years. They used to be reasonably priced, clean , and the food good. But not only have a removed most of the items I used to enjoy (their clam chowder was to die for), but now they charge full restaurant pricing, yet are still expected to get your food from the counter and bus all your dishes, and now you have to place the order yourself via kiosks), and their restaurants are disgusting. It doesn't matter what city or time of day, there's trash all over the place, the drink dispenser has syrup and muck sprayed all over it and is out of ice , the iced tea dispenser has no lid and is empty, and there is never anyone taking orders. You have to place the order yourself at a kiosk, which I wouldn't mind except the computer system doesn't update, and will say the location is out of certain items, even though they aren't (and vice versa). Panera used to be a weekly event for me, but I doubt I'll be back ever again read more

I am really disappointed with t he service I received today. My first issue is the manager who is currently on duty. He is very rude. He talks down to his employees in front of customers. He didn't even acknowledge me. He looked at me as if I was dirt. I get the impression that he hates his job. My second issue is that my order was delayed. The manager should stagger lunches. I had a pleasant visit at this location! Now at first, I was a little disappointed because I ordered the spinach and bacon soufflé, using the kiosk, not realizing that they don't have that available so instead, they gave me the spinach and artichokes soufflé! To compensate for the bacon, since they have them available for sandwiches, the chef chopped up some bacon bits for me so I can put it on top and my God it was amazing! Panera bread by itself cannot go wrong with its menu full of awesome bagels and soups. Their must try to would be (surprisingly not their bagels which is good but you can get similar bagels elsewhere too) their hot chocolate, Yes their chocolate with cream and marshmallows is just Yummmm!!! Their bagels are good and their choice of spread good but strangely they seem to be not stocked up on certain spreads like veggie spread and there were a couple of times i ordered it and both times i was told they are out of it and had to go for an alternate spread. I know the restaurant business is tough and hence dont want to write poor reviews that may affect business but if not for food i would have given this a 1-2 star because service is kind of not upto mark and strangely no one working at this location seem to be happy working here and maybe they need to hire more employees as they could potentially be sort staffed meaning the workload on available employees is that bit higher and that could be one of reasons affecting the service but if the service improves, this is a straight 5 star rating as this place with its prime location in folsom has got even more potential than currently. Definitely recommend for breakfast if not for service, for their food :). Cheers!! read more
