If I could leave zero stars, I would. They get my order wrong 70% of the time. This last time I ordered the chicken southwest salad. "Chicken" being then target word here.... and there was no chicken in it. The 2 times I ordered it before no cherry tomatoes. There's cherry tomatoes listed in the description of the salad. How hard is it to make what you sell how it comes? Or, idk, put chicken in a salad that comes with, I don't know, CHICKEN! These are just 3 occurrences. Out of several occurrences. This establishment has been trying to get it together for years and they have failed. The drive through is slow and understaffed, they run out of bagels in the morning frequently, there is no consistency in the bagels, prices are expensive for product received, friendly staff are few, customer service is rarely available. Picked up order for dinner this evening. Order was completed on scheduled time. Missing from order were baguettes, chips, and utensils. Food was tasty but seems a little overpriced. Frustrating to consistently receive inaccurate/incomplete orders. What is so difficult about checking the order before releasing to customer. Makes tipping in advance a leap of faith. At one point I absolutely loved St. Louis Bread Co/Panera. It seems as though they're going through a rough spot in finding their niche in a competitive field. The menu has drastically changed over the years, and many of my favorites have been left behind. It appears as though a ham sandwich isn't even an option anymore. Unfortunately the Fenton location is often out of staple items such as chips. The reason for such a low review today is out of my half salad, at least 10-15% of the lettuce was bad. I am well versed with fresh produce, and I understand lettuce goes bad, but the amount that I found in my salad is completely unacceptable. I really hope Panera/St. Louis Bread Co can turn it around. I used to love coming here...other than crowds. Tonight it was empty and filthy. We were here at 5:45 on a Thursday evening and waited several minutes to be noticed at the counter. Once we said out loud that we should go elsewhere we were suddenly waited on. So sad to see how far downhill it has gone. The food is pretty good, but expensive and I could barely see the avacado on my chipotle chicken AVACADO sandwich. Hopefully, someone from the nearby headquarters can pop in for an unscheduled visit. I'm writing this review not to bash the place but in hopes that something might be done to improve. First, I will say that the food has been good and I haven't had an issue with food quality except for flavorless coffee drinks. The delivery has also been good. The drive through employees are always friendly. I love Panera bread but this location needs major help. I'm not sure if it's understaffed or poorly trained or what the problem is exactly. The drive through is consistently slow, orders are consistently wrong. More than half the time my coffee is made wrong (missing flavoring). My order gets taken wrong half the time. Often they are out of things or something is broken. The few times I've been inside, employees seem flustered, annoyed, food is slow, everything is a mess, all drink machines empty. In the instance of empty drink machines they put out drink pitchers that were not on ice. I felt this was unsafe for my young children. I asked an employee how long they had been sitting out. No one could tell me. No one filled the drink machines the entire time we were there which was a long time. maybe it was just the day I went in, I'm not sure, but considering the drive through quality, I'm guessing it's not great inside. I will continue to go here when I want Panera food, but I'll always think twice and might not choose it if I don't have time to deal with the headache that comes with this place. read more

The food is typically delicious, but their "quality check" that they are to perform before an order is sent out seems to be the area needing the most improvement. Each delivery or curbside meal I get always have at least one item missing from my order in which I have to go in and retrieve or call for them to come back out to deliver the correct order. anybody thinking about writing a bad review, let me say this as a former fast food worker at said establishment. If you go through the drive thru and it's painfully slow, there isn't enough people scheduled as it was like that multiple nights of the week. often people work in positions they hardly ever worked in or were even trained in due to lack of staff. They are just as frustrated as you, and it isn't the employees faults. If you treat them generously, they will treat you generously. A little kindness can go a long way. If you hear them complaining about a customer, i can assure you they deserved it. Plenty of grown people come in daily looking to pick fights with the teenage staff while they simply try to do their job. And most of these teens are practically keeping this place running! Which explains a lot of things, but it isn't their fault. Kindness, and forgiveness can go a long way. I assure you if something is wrong kindly ask if it could be fixed, and i promise it will. we even gave some goodies to extra nice customers! Wow, what a joke. I had ordered online for curbside pickup at 12:30 but their official curbside pickup lane was full, so I pulled into a parking spot RIGHT IN FRONT of the building. I watched as some lady who works there kept poking her head out the door and looking around. I thought for sure she would recognize my very unique and distinct vehicle I had described in the description for the oder. 15 minutes went by, before I finally got out of my car and told her the name, and yet again, described the vehicle for the pickup. She then went back inside, brought the order outside, and tried to give it to somebody else in a Toyota Camry. I had to stop her and tell her that was my order, even though I had just given her my name and vehicle description moments prior. She then proceeded to get rude with me and told me I was not in the curbside pickup lane, therefore I wasn't a priority. I explained to her it was full at the time, and that if somebody ordered food online and paid for it, they're probably sitting outside waiting for it. They weren't even trying to get that order out. They weren't even looking for the vehicle in the description online. I actually had to say something to make something happen. Then when I got home, the food itself was garbage. A very thin layer of chicken salad on the sandwich, no cheese or croutons in the french onion soup, the chicken salad sandwich was skimpy as well, and both soups weren't even hot. Unbelievable. I ordered 2 broccoli cheddar bread bowls (their most popular soup) and an order of Mac and cheese with a smoothie to drink via rapid pick up. I paid online and got there to my smoothie being the only thing that was ready. Already warm and watery in the counter. Then they proceeded to tell me they already put away the soup I'd asked for and I could pick another soup choice. I called home and asked and we decided to just get the Mac and cheese and the smoothie and we will let the bread bowls go until another time. So I relay this info to another employee, who seems bewildered that the soup I asked for is already gone so she grabbed the manager and he told me they're out of bread bowls. However they weren't. So I told him the plan of just Mac and cheese and a smoothie and no bread bowls and his response was literally "well you paid for them sooooo maybe some pastries or a treat to make up for the cost. Keep in mind it's an hour before close so it's pretty much just the bakery leftovers. So finally after quite a wait, they give me Mac and cheese, my watery smoothie. Which I can't believe isn't replaced by this time. And guess what?! A bread bowl. So I left with a muffin, an order of Mac and cheese, some fruit juice that used to be a smoothie, and a massive new understanding of disappointment when it comes to BreadCo. Ps: I almost forgot. My sides at breadco had to be chips because they were out of bread. Breadco was out of bread.....so I had to settle for tiny bags of bland chips. I really couldn't believe this and used to be at this location a lot and never dealt with this type of ineptitude. I have never had a more horrible visit at Bread Co. The photo is apparently what Bread Co calls a 1/2 steak and cheddar panini, charging $6.00. When asked why there was so little meat on the sandwich, the response was "we weigh out per serving and it's 1.75oz." REALLY?! Waste of money- I could have gotten a 1/2 lb burger for less money somewhere else. Also, when we asked if there were any current rewards on my friend's Panera card, they responded with "I don't have access to that info." Really? Then I guess this location just never gives reward items? This type of behavior directly correlates with the lack of meat they provide on their sandwiches. Last but not least is their subpar service. We had to ask if they were ready to take our order- they never greeted us at all. As my friend was ordering next to me, he forgot to add a bakery item for $1.00. He then suggested to add it on my order and he would just give me cash, but they replied: "it doesn't work that way, we can't do that."
