Hands down the WORST jersey mikes I have ever been to. I placed an online order pickup, showed up to get it, and they acted like I had no order. Nobody was doing anything when I arrived, all on their phones, nobody in the store, and somehow I have no order. We came in around 1:30 on a Sunday and the air conditioning must not have been working- it was VERY stuffy and hot inside. I'm in a sandwich group and someone was raving about Jersey Mike's, specifically the Philly. That heavily influenced my decision as I've never been here before. I pre-ordered for pick-up the #17 Mike's Famous Philly. I got grilled onions, white American cheese, and added bacon because that's what the guy touting the sandwich got. When I got there they were wrapping up and bagging my sandwich. This is a good thing because there were 3 people ahead of me and they were only taking 1 order at a time. I took it home and dug in pretty quickly. I found it to have very little flavor considering there is beef, cheese, onion, bacon, and bread. The hot Reuben tasted OK, but I would've preferred it on a rye hoagie if they had it available. The #8 Club with turkey, ham, bacon and provolone is my GO TO, consistently good on fresh white sub bread with "Mike's way" condiments (tomato, onion, lettuce, oil & vinegar) plus I added banana peppers, yum! I lived in northern California for a couple of years in the early 2000s and was very put out by the horrendous (lack of) quality of cheesesteak sandwiches that I could find. Hence, upon returning to an area with better dining options, I've appreciated the occasional cheesesteak much more. Normally I'll get one up to once a week, usually from Jersey Mike's. We were just passing through the St. Louis area and had reached the western suburbs by lunchtime. We pulled off at an exit and found a fairly standard near-the-mall selection of shops and restaurants. The others in our party voted for Chick-Fil-A, so we had pulled through there first. However, I'd noted a Jersey Mike's nearby, so while they enjoyed their chicken, I stopped in for my lunch. Locating it was a bit of a challenge. The signage is not that eye-catching. It is located in the same building as the Starbuck's, adjacent to the road that crosses the expressway. Parking isn't a huge issue once you locate it, though there are a number of other businesses competing for the nearby spaces. This was during the COVID period, so there was no dine-in option anyway. Probably 2 in 3 patrons were masked. My only (mild) complaint was with the reaction when I offered a $20 to pay for my meal. The cashier seemed slightly off-put and proceeded to put on a pair of plastic gloves (over the pair she was already wearing) in order to touch my cash. Back home, they just accept the cash with their standard pair of cash-register gloves and move on. I wasn't trying to be difficult but this just seemed odd. The guy in front of me seems to know the workers and orders a sub with roast beef and it is fresh medium rare. So I order the same (first time ordering with roast beef). The guy making the sandwiches switches the roast beef to some dried up piece that looks like it has been there for awhile. Sure enough that is all it takes. So the wife and I actually liked Jersey Mike's quite a bit. But then there are several good sub/sandwich shops that we like. So while this was good, it's still a 3 star for the sub shop category to me. Ordering was easy, with a big self-explanatory board behind the counter. Workers were helpful, especially once they realized I wasn't familiar with the process, and our hot subs were prepared fairly quickly. The place is really loud though, and I noticed that both tables and the workers were continually raising their voices to be heard. My sandwich was the Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese Steak (grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños and white American cheese). The wife got the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak (same, but with sliced beef instead of chicken). We also both opted for the rosemary parmesan bread. Sandwiches came out really hot (literally steaming when bites were taken), and with everything grilled up together for a good melding of flavors. I thought it was pretty flavorful, as I suppose a Big Kahuna should be, and was surprised at the bit of spicy heat that followed my bites - until I realized that the sandwiches include jalaps. For comparison, I suppose I would say it is definitely better than an O'Charley's food court cheese steak. You should be happy with it, at the least. read more

I'd been a loyal customer since this location opened but won't likely be back. The product is well designed by corporate and generally well executed by its franchisees, but it's been on a pronounced slide for the last 18-months or so at this particular franchise. While I am well aware businesses like this have been struggling with all kinds of benchmarks throughout the Covid pandemic due to staffing and supply chain challenges, I see many businesses fighting for the win, where that doesn't seem to be the case here. I think management has been phoning it in for the better part of the year at this location on the strength of Jersey Mike's good name. Signage on the front of the restaurant does not match the hours posted on websites, leading to inconvenience and frustration for those diners arriving at 4:55 on a Saturday when I was expecting them to be open until 8 o'clock. But the last straw for me, after spending literally several thousands of dollars at this location over the last several years between my own Eastcoast sub addiction and treating my family, was a case of the mindlessly stale bread on my last two visits. Late in the day, one might rationally understand that bread might not be as fresh as it was earlier in the day, but if it becomes downright stale it should be thrown out and not served to customers. Management should understand this. Seemingly, it does not, and is happy to place short term profitability over long-term customer satisfaction. I found a substitute though, not far away, in Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs, which seems to place a real priority on quality product as well as positive, upbeat customer service, and so I don't believe I'll be going back to Jersey Mike's. read more

The staff is very rude. I ordered two sandwiches. it was my first time there so i ordered by name instead of by number. I told the worker i wanted a regular big khajuna chicken and a regular chipotle. He writes down in correct #s so i tell him "this is supposed to be #__ and #__ and he says "they will change it and quickly moves me a lot so he can tend to the next customer. Me; still not feeling confident, i decide to go to the cashier and explain to her that he wrote down the wrong order and her response is "They're the same price, but they will cook the right thing " so i sit down still not confident because how does that even make sense? at least 15 minutes goes by and i finally get my food and i check it and of course it's wrong. So at this point i'm upset because i talked to multiple people about the issue before the food even was put on the grill and it could've been resolved beforehand but instead the workers were very rude and passive and didn't have patience. I tell them i want a refund because not only did i wait in line for 15+ minutes but i also waited for food that was incorrect for 15+ minutes. So when i explain that i'm upset because i tried correcting the guy while he was writing my order down but he wouldn't let me, he starts getting defensive as if i'm lying and just trying to get my money back. Which is very embarrassing in a store full of people. I am very upset and have never in my life walked into a "professional" establishment and felt so unwelcome. I've been to quite a few jersey mikes and they are always good. This one in particular seems to fall apart every time I go which is unfortunate because it's one of the few places I can eat gluten free. Every time I've gone, something has gone astray. One time I ordered plain, it was not. Another time, my HOT sandwich was cold. Another time, it took 25+ minutes to make my sandwich. The workers seem a bit clueless at times when you present them with questions, and don't seem to care about the quality as much as other Jersey's do. They need to remanage the place or something. I ask her where do I put my rewards in and the lady with the mask says follow the directions. I came unglued and said you don't have to be a smart ass and say things like that when someone does not know which screen to look at. Her manager then comes over and says get out of my store you are not going to talk to my employees like that but she can talk to the customer who is paying her salary any way she wants I guess. I love trying new places. Sometimes they are amazingly good/bad and sometimes they are right in the middle. This place was right in the middle for me. I ordered their chipotle cheese steak. It was really good but also really messy. Cooked on the flat top while I waited. The steak was good but nothing spectacular. The white American cheese had that 'stick to your teeth' cheesy goodness but the best part of the sandwich was the onion and pepper medley. There was a certain sweetness there that really added quite a bit to the sandwich. I opted for the white bread and it was slightly chewy. It may well have been crunchy at some point but the nefarious cheesesteak slime (not necessarily a bad thing) wiped out that attribute if it was ever present. I doubt I will crave this place but I might give them another shot if the mood strikes me. One final thought...staff was super friendly and very knowledgable about their offerings. read more
