The new chicken Salad was delightful. The staff were friendly. The selection of pastries was smaller than a normal store, but looked tasty.

After this experience, I will never be coming back. I ordered the #1, a turkey sandwich, and asked for no tomatoes. The first worker scoffed and told me, "We aren't at toppings yet." I apologized and explained that I had never been there before and couldn't see what they were doing behind the massive counter. When it was actually time for toppings, I took maybe ten seconds to look at the options and decide what I wanted. That seemed to be enough time for the second worker to become visibly irritated with me. I then asked whether the sandwich comes warmed or if I needed to request that, and that's when her attitude completely changed. She refused to answer me, rolled her eyes, and started talking negatively about me to the first worker while I was standing right there. I apologized again and explained that I had never been there before and simply wasn't familiar with their process. I don't think asking how the sandwich is prepared is an unreasonable question, especially as a first-time customer. I also found it very unprofessional that the worker was making food while wearing sunglasses. To make matters worse, when I got to the cashier, the second worker proceeded to call me names over something as simple as asking whether my sandwich came warmed. The food itself was actually pretty good, which makes the experience even more disappointing. I would have gladly returned, but the way I was treated by the staff completely ruined the experience. No customer should be made to feel embarrassed or disrespected simply for being unfamiliar with a restaurant's process.

Dad- Italian stallion- 7/10 Only because I tasted the olive and I'm not a fan of olive. But other than that it was good. Mom- caparese melt- 9/10 Only because it had too much pesto for my liking. The vibes were chill the waitress was very nice. Our kid is on the spectrum and is hard to please sometimes but he loved it he even tried his dad Italian stallion and gave it a thumbs up. We will be back next time we are in AR. Thank you!

Driving through Fayetteville, I had to stop at Hammontree's Grilled Cheese. I've seen this place…read moreall over the internet for years, so it finally made the list. First impressions were a bit mixed. The restaurant was quiet, but the floors were noticeably dirty, and the restrooms were just okay. Nothing outrageously bad, but definitely not as clean as I would expect for such a slow night. The service was probably the biggest disappointment. Our server wasn't rude, but she wasn't particularly welcoming either. She took our order, dropped off the food, and brought the check without ever really checking back in. There were only three occupied tables in the restaurant with three servers working, so it wasn't like they were overwhelmed. One thing that really stood out was that every employee in the dining room except the bartender had headphones either in their ears or hanging around their necks. It gave the impression that customer service wasn't much of a priority. I started by ordering a sweet tea, only to be told they don't have it because they brew their tea in-house and "can't add sugar." That explanation seemed a little odd. I switched to a Coke instead, which turned out to be one of the flattest fountain drinks I've had in a long time. After a few sips, I gave up and just drank water. Now for the part that really matters: the food. We ordered the Kids Rookie grilled cheese and the Big Dog from the kids' menu, along with the Cheebacca and the Brie's Company. We also couldn't leave without trying the Blueberry Grilled Cheese for dessert. The only real miss on the food side was the chips. They were stale, cold, and almost rubbery. Honestly, they were some of the worst house chips you could possibly have. The sandwiches deserve a much better side, or they'd honestly be better off taking the chips off the menu altogether. The kids' meals were an incredible value at only $5 each. My 5-year-old couldn't decide between a grilled cheese and a hot dog, so he got both. The Big Dog was excellent--hot, juicy, and grilled just long enough to get those perfect char marks. The Rookie was exactly what you'd want for a picky eater: simple, cheesy, and well made. The Cheebacca ($12) was packed with sharp white cheddar, house cheese, bacon, pulled pork, grilled onions, and a garlic cilantro sauce on sourdough. Every ingredient complemented the next, and nothing overpowered the sandwich. Easily one I'd order again. The Brie's Company ($12) was the surprise of the meal. Grilled apples, Brie, Gouda, caramelized onions, and fig jam on sourdough sounded adventurous, but it absolutely worked. Sweet, savory, rich, and balanced all at once. If you're willing to step outside the traditional grilled cheese, this one is worth trying. Then came dessert. The Blueberry Grilled Cheese ($7.25) combines mascarpone, cream cheese, fresh blueberries, and honey between slices of grilled pound cake. It sounds unusual, but somehow it's fantastic. It's one of those desserts that makes you question why you've never had it before. Awkwardly delicious in the best possible way, and absolutely worth ordering. Overall, Hammontree's is a place where the kitchen is doing almost everything right while the front of house leaves quite a bit to be desired. Cleaner dining areas, better service, and replacing those terrible chips would easily push this into 4 star territory. As it stands, the food absolutely lives up to the hype, but the overall experience holds it back. If you're passing through Fayetteville, it's still worth stopping in. Just skip the chips, order one of the specialty grilled cheeses, and don't leave without trying the dessert.

We stopped at Panera on the way to go hiking for a quick breakfast…read more The good: *Enjoyed the breakfast - the cinnamon roll and the cherry vanilla bagel. Although, I do prefer the old round cinnamon rolls they used to have back in the day. The bad: *It was freezing cold in the restaurant. It was if it was 105 outside and they needed an ice box inside. It was a chilly fall morning and there was no need for that. *Service was not that great. The person taking our order was all over the place - going back and forth instead of focusing on taking our order, taking payment, etc. leaving us standing their while she focused on other things that didn't even deal with our order. I like Panera, but it's just not what it used to be - that is for all locations, not just this one.

This is for sure your typical Panera stop and it is good for groups and just a light lunch/dinner. If you have celiac.... Just don't plan to eat. I did get a coffee and it was safe.... Cold but safe... they did brew some fresh coffee for me after I alerted them it was cold which I appreciated ;-). My daughter LOVES their bread so I was able to get a baguette to go. My wondering is the service. When we first walked up to the register a guy was typing something into the computer. Not sure what.... But we stood there for about 30 seconds and he just walked away. No response no greeting nothing. It felt so weird I was wondering if he was closing it down. Then a gal walked up right after and looked at me. Again no greeting or "how can I help you". I asked if it was ok to order. She said yes of course. Again not awful just felt weird. Lastly when my coffee was cold i asked if they could warm it up for me. They instead brewed more which I appreciated! Other than that it felt like your typical Panera. No one went above and beyond and the weird customer service leads me to remove two stars giving a three star review.

Do you like a good burger? I'd put them easily in the top 5 in Fayetteville and probably my favorite based on proximity to my house. Do you like a Ribeye? The N.A.T.O Grilled Ribeye is a beast of a sandwich that is worth the price. My wife sticks to one of the fried shrimp sandwiches because they are so good it doesn't make sense for her to change it up. You want a Ribeye but your kids want chicken tenders? They've got you covered. The tender baskets are massive! Burgers? Did I mention those? Got a picky kid that doesn't like cheese? Get the Royale w/ cheese with no cheese and it's the perfect size. Shout out to a shareable shrimp basket, excellent cold subs, a variety of hot subs including a great cheese steak and a riff on a french dip. Go to Mess Hall and go often. This is the kind of great, affordable, and consistent spot an area like east Fayetteville needs.
