I have been here numerous times over the years and the food preparation continues to get worse. I ordered a sandwich and soup yesterday to take to the nearby hospital to visit my mother and when I opened the sandwich, the bread was so smashed and looked as if someone had used a rolling pin on it. I don't think it could have been any thinner if I had driven over it with my car. How in the world does that happen? At this Panera, the food is simply not worth the money. Fortunately, the bagels are still good. Perhaps the a move to its new location will help. I will give it one more try then. read more

I have been to this location many times and every time they mess up my order. Usually I call and they offer to fix it or give me a refund. This last time I went will be the last time. I understand that things happen and orders get messed up from time to time. But this time when I called the person I got on the phone said " yeah we dropped the ball on that one, sorry". I moved to the area a year ago. This Panera has horrible management and very low quality food!! This branch of Panera will go under if they don't clean house!! There is a lot of awesome competition surrounding this store, go to 2520 if you want good food, a smile and very respect!!! Their new location is really cute! As always, the coffee very reliable, mac n'chz on point, and broccoli cheddar soup warm with a crusty bread. The real Reason this place gets 5 stars today, is because Gladys made my visit extra special, just by her hospitality and smile. If she isn't the manager, she needs to be. All the reviews I read barking on the staff, I understand. No one wants to go somewhere and feel unwelcome. I love Panera Bread, but if you're ordering to go, triple check your order before you leave the store. This location leaves off a key ingredient every other visit (big stuff, like chicken or salad dressing). I've called and given this feedback multiple times, but nothing changes. i am giving this place 2 stars, not because of the food, and not because of the quality, but because of how badly I feel for the workers. One night I came through drive thru and was told that the drive thru was currently closed and that I may order inside, which I was fine with. I was greeted by a woman, who looked and dressed like a manager. She was nice, took my order, and I took a seat by the kitchen and waited. While waiting, I noticed that the kitchen was very busy, and while I saw people handling orders, I only saw around 3 workers in the entire store. They all looked young, and should not have to work without enough people in the store! I do not mind waiting for my food, but I feel as if more staff should have been present, and it is concerning the amount of trouble these workers must have dealt with. For the wait, I was offered free pastries, and the young lady who had handed me the pastries looked beyond stressed. I hope this was a one time thing and that staff scheduling is much better on other days. However, the food and cleanliness of the place is overall great. read more

This Panera has always been mediocre at best. I've dealt with many rude employees, missing food items, long wait times, and more in the past but have never felt the need to post a review until today. Today was the first time I've been back to Panera in about nine months and they have stepped. up. their. game. I wonder if they've just hired better employees, because the service was top notch. I went around when I would expect there to be a dinner rush and ordered a pretty large order. I expected a long wait, but had my food within 7 minutes. The cashier at the front (a young girl with brown hair and glasses) was one of the sweetest and most respectful teenagers I've ever met and answered all of my questions without a hint of an attitude. I'm giving Panera 4 stars just because this is the first time I've ever been so impressed, but let me tell you, I will be coming back! read more

I love panara but the thing is there are just things about it that don't butter my croissant there was a crazy lady in the parking lot that liked my truck hair and needed a watch I do not want to touch other people's poopy germs while I just rekey to grab a paper towel the dips we was wayyy!!!! When you're on a road trip you want something fast and easy, and I personally would rather have Panera over other fast food options any day. I didn't even know Panera advertised on road side business boards, heck we saw a billion Bojangles, Subways and Wendy's signs and then suddenly a board with Panera!? It was around 5:30ish just before the dinner rush when we arrived. I had a big old salad with dried apples, nuts and cheese and my boyfriend had his favorite sandwich both of which were speedy and made well. First time through the new drive through. I was the only one in line. I ordered a small coffee and a ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwich but wanted egg white instead of the regular egg. They charged me $1.20 extra for egg white. Seemed a little steep to me but I was in a hurry. Halfway to work eating my sandwich I realize they put in a regular egg. So I paid $1.20 for nothing. No receipt was given so I can't even prove that I had ordered egg whites. read more

RUDE. SLOW. UNPROFESSIONAL.... and in this instance, I'm referring to the MANAGER of the store. I have come to Panera often over the last year. Food quality in the new location has actually increased marginally. SERVICE, however, has hit an all-time low. I ordered a bagel to go from the kiosk. (much easier and friendlier than the counter service...) I checked the window several times over the next 20 min to get my order and it was never there. Upon checking the last time I asked the manager, who was working the line, if there was an order ready with my name of it. I wasn't mad about the wait, nor concerned with the crowd, I just wanted my food. THE MANAGER turned to me with the attitude I would expect from a clueless teen and barked "IT'S BEEN UP HERE FOR A WHILE." I'm just gonna leave that here for you to ponder... I don't write reviews normally but I had to download this app specifically for this. When I was trying to get a pizza in the drive thru for my family a Manager told me that the drive thru was closed and as I stopped into the parking lot to go inside someone went to the drive thru and was served. I thought this is probably just a misunderstanding but when I went inside I talked to the same manager and he had a terrible attitude already just walking up to me and when I asked why someone else got served he played dumb and acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. I ignored it and ordered my pizza anyway inside with a very nice cashier and when I asked the cashier what was going on they told me the manager does this pretty often and decides to only open the drive thru for his friends when they come by when no other managers are around. On top of that they burned all of my food and when I asked it to be remade I heard the same manager cursing at me under his breath and to his fellow coworkers about me which was very easy to hear as there was no one in the drive thru or dining room but my family and one other family. I hope everyone avoids this establishment as much as possible especially if the manager named Richard is working because it was honestly the worst service I have ever received it's a shame that such a immature young man was put in a position to represent this company because I enjoy eating at Panera very much but the service I received from the manager of all people and his lack of respect has made me not want to ever go back. Ordered a pick-up breakfast here for 18 people. It was ordered to be ready at 7:00 a.m. I arrived 10 minutes early and they were almost finished with it. I left with it at 6:55 a.m. This Panera Bread location is on their game. I had quite a large order and many components, and there was not one misstep. Not one detail overlooked. The manager cheerfully helped me carry it to my car and load it up. This was a wonderful experience, and I will be using them for this service again. We were not greeted when we entered (there was no line), my Panera card was not asked for, one of the line crew felt it was appropriate to comment "that's weird" on my husbands bagel choice for his breakfast sandwich, and when I returned to the line to order an additional item the cashier was rude and even less attentive! My family and I are moving from NC to TX for a change of station. We stopped by this location for dinner on the way out of state. My wife lost her wallet here and didn't realize it until we were about an hour away; we called and they said they looked and didn't have it but took her phone number and said they'd call if it showed up; they never did. She called back a day or so later and they told her they indeed had it but we were already the next state over. We asked them to mail it to a friend's house along our route (we offered to pay, of course) but they refused to help us out citing liability/security reasons (I'm pretty sure passports/ID cards are sent in the mail all the time). Even corporate didn't want to do anything about it even after we explained that we needed my wife's ID card to close on the house we're moving into so this may end up delaying my family settling on a place to live and costing us several nights stay in a hotel. This Panera is terrible. I will never eat here again. After having bad service in the past I tried them again against my better judgment. I got delivery and my order was missing three items and my French onion soup did not have the cheese or croutons. I called to speak to someone the first person I spoke to had no idea where to even find my order they kept insisting that I ordered something completely different than I did. I asked to speak to the manager the assistant manager Aston or something like that Was rude and told me it was not his fault that the order was wrong. He gets off the phone for a minute comes back and says we can do two things for you we can refund your money or we can give you a credit to get the things that you missed from your order. Since half my order with missing I said please refund my money. He really said fine and hung up the phone on me never refunded my money never told me he was sorry he acted like I was an inconvenience I tried to call back and was hung up on again. How does this location stay open and why is this chump/ a hole supposedly a manager. Also my the bread bowl was completely burned!! Even though I shouldn't have , because I am a paying customer, I will now be stopping by this Panera to receive my refund. I wish I could give it negative stars. read more

I am a fan of Panera Bread but, this location is the absolute worst! It moved from right down the road into a new building/location. I never had a problem with the old location. I have given this new store 2 chances and both of them were bad experiences. Both times the restaurant was dirty. There were items on the tables and the floors. The glass on the windows and doors is covered with smudges. There was no toilet paper in the women's bathroom. The service both times was extremely slow!!!!!! Also, on both occasions the people that waited on us were not very friendly. I tried the drive thru and after waiting for a very long time, being placed "on hold" and being told they were out of bagels I pulled around and the young girl just opened the window, poked her head out and stared at me. Didn't say a word. So strange. I will NEVER go back and I will spread the word that it needs major improvement. I like this location because it seems like less traffic to get in and out, and the restaurant itself has room. They also have a small outdoor seating area, which is nice on warmer days. The food is like any other Panera. I enjoy their salads, soups, sandwiches and pastries. The smoothies are pretty good, when they have the peach flavor-grab it! The place is always clean and tidy. The tomato soup is my fave- extra croutons. read more

We go to Panera Bread at least once a week and always have a good experience. Because the sandwiches are large, we usually order one sandwich, a bag of baked chips, one cookie and two drinks. A half sandwich is just right for two people who are trying to lose a few pounds. The first things you see when you walk into Panera are the baked goods, so passing up dessert is not a possibility for us. There is a good variety of sandwiches served on freshly baked bread of various types. The orders are prepared quickly, and the restaurant is comfortable, pleasant and clean. On many of our visits, the manager is visible, circulating among the diners to ask if everything is okay. We appreciate that. read more

The customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. Here is my experience from multiple visits ~ You walk in and the person behind the counter is on their phone, you stand there and they finally the look up. No greeting, no communication. They take your order with no personality at the point of being annoyed. This is not 1 person but the entire staff is just rude. I agree with the post that says you should fire the entire staff and start over. Also, the restaurant is dirty and the stock is always low. My niece asked which salads had fruit in them; the lady pointed to the board behind her head and said, "Read the board up here." When our orders came, my Chicken Lime Chile Salad had no dressing. I hate this Panera Bread in Clemmons. Staffs are slow and the manager is so rude. After ordering bagel package, rapid pick-up option, I had to wait total 35 minutes. I used to love coming to Panera in Clemmons but I don't think I'll be back to often now. I know this place is new but it seems very poorly managed. I've had everything from my order be wrong, items constantly not being available, workers being rude, to waiting 35-45 minutes for a rapid pick up. My most recent experience going there I waited about 35 minutes in store, 45 total for a rapid pick up. Everyone ahead of me was frustrated and cancelling their orders, being refunded and everyone working looked confused or flustered. One woman who I assume was a shift leader or manager was kind but I felt like she was the only one doing work in the place. With the rate this place is going I don't think it will last as a business unless changes are made. I've worked in a variety of customer service and management for 15 years and even if you don't have things or are rushed being rude is unacceptable. Except for the one worker I haven't encountered that many friendly customer service people here. read more

This was our "Every Sunday morning" and at least once a week stop. Well sorry to say no more. This weekend has filled our community with a girls soccer tournament. Young girls and their well to do parents filling every parking space and restaurant seat within a 3 mile radius of the fields. Traffic issues abound. Now to Panera. Trying to get into Panera was impossible Saturday. Zero parking spaces and after almost getting hit twice by Soccer Moms looking for a space, we decided to leave. The line for service was also well out the door. As we left others were doing the same. Then on our regular Sunday we tried again. Thinking management would now know about the extra crowd and plan for it was our hope. We couldn't be more wrong. The line was well out the door into the rain, there were no extra cashiers, the placed was trashed from all the muddy soccer cleats, many items already gone and customer service at an all time low because of Staff being over worked. 100% a poor management issue. Time to find a new twice a week sandwich place. If they can't manage a little extra business then what else are they messing up in the back where my food is made. read more

I had a bad experience with a staff member last time I was at Panera. I went in to buy a pastry ring for a family who had lost their baby. I asked the lady at the register for one and she said I could have one if they had any and then glanced around. I pointed to the only one I saw which was set up as a display with a sign telling the price. I said "there's one" she then looked at it with a strange face and said "well if you're ok with that one". It looked fine but since she said that I wondered if it was a display and not fresh Soviet replied "yes, as long as it's fresh and not been sitting as a display". She became very angry at me and got defensive saying they were made daily and was very rude about it. I would never have thought it wasn't fresh if she hadn't said what she had. I also was not accusing her of selling me an old dessert. I worked retail and food service as a a teenager and I always make it a point to go out of my way and be nice to everyone. This lady was extremely rude to me during a difficult time and I think it was unacceptable. I enjoy the food but they need much better service for the prices they charge. I also have had issues with them never having hazelnut coffee fresh when I go in. It's almost always empty but I'm sure it goes quickly so that is not the reason I will no longer visit, just an inconvenience. I am glad hey loves to a location with a drive through and I may try the new location and update my review with how current staff is. read more
