Wild rice and chicken soup BLT with Tomato Basil BLT
Annie B.

How does one rate Panera bread a national chain? Well, would I look for these things and this place had it today... The soup was served hot... the sandwich was made to my specifications... The service was very prompt... The cashier was very attentive. He was also the manager... And the store was clean. Nothing was lacking. The creamer was filled.. the sugar... it's the perfect meal to tide me over before a trip I'm making today so I think it's a pretty good meal and a pretty good deal

Kitchen Sink Cookie

Panera never fails to disappoint me! Today I got my favorite, the broccoli cheddar soup, and it tasted great. Service was fast as usual and there were open tables everywhere. I also got a kitchen sink cookie to share with a friend, which was packaged up immediately for me. No qualms whatsoever!

This place is awesome!!!! I always get food catered here for meetings and they are so nice. The bagels are reasonably priced and have great variety. They slice them for you so you don't have to worry about doing that. And they always have a great attitude. Their hazelnut coffee is amazing and you can get a big cardboard tub that services 8 to 10 people. Next time you are going to cater a breakfast meeting I highly recommend it. Definitely go here and order ahead online.

Chicken and wild rice soup

Dinner on a Tuesday to catch up with a friend. Glad that the chicken and wild rice was available since it's my favorite (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). The restaurant was clean and they brought the food to our table which was nice. I enjoy Panera and order a lot of catering from here so am always appreciative of their service.

"Grilled cheese"

Wanted a grilled cheese for myself and my daughter today with the cold icy weather. This is what my grilled cheese looks like. Yuck.

Convenient location, plenty of seating, and easy ordering! This Panera Bread is located in Barracks Road Shopping Center, so parking is convenient and the place is easy to get to. First thing I noticed was how many booths and tables there were. Great for groups or individuals! I also love how you can order in person or by the automatic self-order machines they have. It definitely speeds things up when lines are long. You basically place your order and pay at one of those machines near the counter and grab an electronic beeper with a number. Your food will directly be delivered to you at your table soon! Such a convenient design. My only complaint was that my beeper didn't have the flashing light like everyone else's so I wasn't sure they got my order. One of the servers checked on it and made sure it was working fine, so in the end I got my food no problem! Food was pretty good. I like their combos and how much variety they offered. My tomato soup was great- rich and creamy, perfect for a chilly day! Sandwich was slightly above average. They gave us all a cookie! I also enjoyed the free coffee and the free tea.

side of chipotle mayo....

I asked for a side of chiptole mayo and basil on my sandwich. I arrived and there was no chipotle mayo in my order. I go to the counter and ask for chipotle mayo. This is what they gave me and said "sorry this is all we can give out right now." It is 1pm on a Friday and they are out of ingredients.... also messed up my sandwich order. Not impressed.

Bro it looked 10 million times better online not to mention i got that green smoothie snd I swear every time they blend it less

Food is fine. If you're celiac though, I'm sure you already know. Go somewhere else. Even chicken isn't gluten free.

Terrible customer service, even when speaking with a manager. No help at all resolving my issue so we went to Foods.

Nguyen’s Kitchen - Pork Vermicelli Bowl

Nguyen’s Kitchen

We were in town and let Yelp guide us and we were not disappointed. This is a small mostly to-go…read morerestaurant in a strip mall. There are 3 tables inside, so we chose to eat in. I chose the Vietnamese sandwich. It was so tasty. Bread was toasted and crispy and the mix of chicken, pickled cucumbers and fresh herbs were great. My daughter ordered the bulgogi beef rice plate (with kimchi on side) and a strawberry lemonade with strawberry popping boba. She loved both. Food comes out fast. Overall excellent!

Very very nice lady (owner) and very helpful with the menu. - I had the chicken Pho ($16.50). I added the 2 included Hoisin sauce packets. It also came with a Sriracha sauce packet and a small container of chili oil along with the normal variety of noodles, sprouts, fresh herbs, green onions, white onions, jalapeño slices, and a lime wedge. The chicken was tender sliced white meat with no fat, gristle, or bones attached. The broth had a lot of flavor and was delicious. - I also had the shrimp and chive dumplings ($7.00). Not a strong shrimp flavor, but they had a nice crisp on the outside and were tasty. The sauce that comes with the dumplings is absolutely delicious. - My wife had the Bulgogi beef ($14.50). She said it was tender and very delicious. It came with rice, kimchi, and cucumber salad. I just happened to speak to Linh about the cucumber salad and she said this is how she's always made it for her kids and they love it. Well, I'm with her kids and love it too. She makes the vinaigrette herself and it has an unexpected sweetness to it instead of the usual strong vinegar flavor. We both loved it. - We had the pork gyoza ($7.00). This was cooked my favorite way, deep fried (not pan fried). This took me back to the gyoza in Japan and the Yaki Mandu I used to get in Korea. Great crispy wrapper with a tender flavorful filling. And again, the sauce that came with it is some of the best I've had. - The kimchi is not overly spicy and has a slight sweetness to it. - The Egg Tarts ($5.50) are good, not overly sweet. Could use a bit more filling for a better filling to pie crust ratio. - I also got a Chai tea bubble milk ($6.25) that was super delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed Nguyen's Kitchen and will go back with friends. It's unfortunate that it sits behind a Taco Bell and is not highly noticeable from the road, otherwise I might have tried it sooner.

I've tried everything else and knew Q Noodles is well reviewed but HK is undefeated. We ordered takeout and decided to try a few different things on their menu. I will say the food came correct and the packaging was clean and tidy. The prices are expensive but the portions are huge. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees and couldn't finish all of it. 1 of each is enough for 2 people. The pork steamed buns were our favorite. Not the best I've had ever, but possibly the best in cville. The bun was super light and fluffy and the filling was savory. I prefer mine to be a bit sweeter with a BBQ flavor, so not my all time fav but very good. 8/10 The egg rolls were just fine. Well prepared and cooked. Tasted slightly too oily. The inside was cabbage and either ground pork or chicken. No carrot. The inside was so finely minced it kinda turned into a mush. So the texture was not the best. Hard to distinguish the flavor as well. 5/10 The sesame paste noodles with ground pork was presented beautifully with red cabbage, cucumber, edamame, corn, shredded carrot and cilantro. I think the sesame paste sauce was just too one dimensional, but maybe that's the point. The noodles were overdone so underneath the beautiful rainbow of toppings was just kind of a pile of mushy noodles in a plain sesame paste. After a few bites the earthiness/mushiness of the dish starts to be overwhelming ... not my favorite. 4/10 The general tsos was packaged well and came with white rice a few pieces of steamed brocolli and a ramen egg. The ramen egg was good. The general tsos the chicken was good quality and very fresh. It reminded me of an orange chicken in terms of how their GT tastes. My favorite GT in cville is from Hong Kong and unfortunately this one wasn't as good. The chicken was good quality but the texture was quite soft and not crispy the way I prefer. The sauce was also a bit too sweet for my preference. Overall, a good dish it is enjoyable just not my fav. 6/10 With how much hype they get I was expecting a bit more - perhaps at some point I will try their soup dumplings since they may be the only place in cville that does them. But for $13 for 6 pieces I may just continue to wait awhile considering the rest of their food was fairly average. Overall, a solid spot for average Chinese food. Nothing amazing but will satisfy a craving for well made Chinese food if you are looking in the uva area.

Luckily we ordered fried tofu and that was absolutely amazingly delicious! They gave me some wasabi and I was in heaven. (I like heat...) The ramen broth was not very flavorful, but the noodles and veggies were nicely cooked. Servers were kind, even with the huge birthday party in the side room. Parking was a little sketchy. No lighting along the side of the building. Restaurant was clean, as were the loos. I think I'd try them again, if only for the tofu. Did I tell you how amazing the fried tofu was?!?!
