This is the worst Panera ever. It ordered a grilled cheese which looks like they made it sometime yesterday it was so attached to the paper that it was in and was so cold. It was in edible. The soup is OK although they've changed their you pick two sizes too miniature sizes. The baguette which I've always loved at every Panera I've ever been to was cold and seems like it was partially cooked and had a strange taste to it. I will never go to this Panera again. I spent $10 on a meal in which the only thing edible is the soup. read more

Called Panera at 4:30 yesterday to order five gallons of catered hot chocolate for an event at 5:00 after a local shop ghosted me and left me dry.  Panera got everything made and ready in less than 25 minutes in time for the event!  GREAT for local catering events. Have come here several times and each time I want to love it. Not happened yet. This time we came and there was a long line at the drive through but we didn't let it faze us as he wanted Panera. No line inside and we ordered right away. Great right! Not really. The kitchen was overwhelmed. They had a fundraiser for a school and couldn't keep up with orders. There was a line waiting for orders to be ready in addition to the drive through line. We waited twenty minutes for our food. Then when it was ready and we were already starving, it turned out to be not good. Mac and cheese was lukewarm at best. My grilled cheese was average. The green goddess Cobb salad had no salad dressing. They told me the salads are tossed with the dressing and they'd give me extra which annoyed me as there was no dressing at all. Don't make it like I'm the idiot. Just apologize and give me dressing. Would I eat there again? I wouldn't unless everyone in my party wanted to. And even then I think I'd get a dish from somewhere else and only accompany my friends. read more

A group of 10 of us visited the Castle Rock Panera for lunch today. In the course of our conversation we commented on how the quality and atmosphere had improved considerably. Several of us mentioned how the current manager Silas was so friendly and helpful. We also noticed how he interacted with the employees. He treated them respectfully and they didn't hesitate to ask him questions. Bravo to Panera, Silas and his team for raising the standard with hard work and leadership. I am writing to inform others of my experience as I was unable to reach this location and provide constructive feedback - no one answers the phone (tried 8 times in a row during normal business hours). I ordered the Bistro French Onion soup in a Sourdough Bread bowl for my very hungry wife - What a disappointment! We emptied the soup into the bowl and it was less than half full - definitely not representative of the images on this site! I will try to attach a picture after my wife had 2-3 spoons of soup. Panera food is good enough. But the prices are insane. A kids meal is a full $10 with a soda. Drinks are $3. For adults and kids an ordinary lunch was $50. I went through the drive thru today and used two of my gift cards. Both of which I know have money on them. The guy tells me there is no money on my first one and if he should toss it, I say no I'll take it. Then my second gift card conveniently does the same but this time I tell him to throw it away. He pocketed it! I know this because that had money on it and I saw him through the window. It was my moms (who has passed recently) and it had her handwriting on it. I didn't realize this until I had driven away and checked the first gift card. Low and behold, it still had money on it. So, I went back to get the gift card and someone had found a similar one and wrote on it in marker. No surprise, this one did not have any money on it. Shocker... Slowest Panera in history. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. Sanitation is questionable- watched a sandwich maker wipe her nose, pull up her falling down pants, with her sanitation gloves on, and go right back to working on a sandwich (using the SAME gloves). Trying to support carry out and this location continues to be an unorganized mess. They have no cinnamon rolls because they out of icing! A bakery out of icing? It's not exactly a short shelf life item. They also have no yogurt. On a Sunday morning at 9am? Okay how about a ham and cheese soufflé? Nope they don't have that either just cheese and artichoke but those are in the oven and won't be ready for 18 minutes. I thought Panera was bringing in "grocery items" to be more of a one stop shop. Coming from Folsom, California. I witnessed first hand what and actual good Panera bread looks like. This one in castle rock was horrible. Only one employee there wore gloves. Ever single female/ male employee there with long hair, did not have their hair up. Nor were there any hair nets being worn. Federal laws dictate that you must were gloves and have their hair up. I hope to god I don't find any hair in my food. I will not be going back to that Panera bread again. One more thing the service was not good. So not impressed...went thru drive thru today. Only a cinamon crunch bagel, toasted with honey walnut cream cheese. It was obvious that whoever prepared my order could give a rats....my bagel was thrown upside down in the bottom of the bag. The knife, dirty cream cheese container, and napkins were all on top of the bagel. Wouldn't it be normal to wrap the bagel in some kind of paper? I mean most people would want to eat a clean bagel. Not one that has been handled then bombarded by 3 three other things that may or may not have been touched using gloves. So gross. Where is your common sense and care for the customer? Since I was the only one in the drive thru I guess the rest of Castle Rock already has this figured out....the good news? At least for me? Hell will freeze over before I head back to this place. And not even a thank you from the cashier for choosing (however unwisely) to spend my money here. Worst run Panera in the country! Having lived near and eaten at Panera locations in many states, I can confidently say this is the worst one anywhere! I only go because our family loves the food. I just ordered a SW Chile Salad through the drive-thru and was so sadly disappointed. For the price I paid, I didn't get exactly what I ordered. The size of the full salad was barely half full in the to-go box. The receipt shows the entire recipe and I only got half of what was listed. Romaine, arugula, chili lime ranch, adobo corn blend, quinoa tomato blend, chicken, masa crisps, and cilantro were the listed ingredients. And the picture advertisement shows avocado. All that was in the box was some wilted romaine, ranch, corn blend, chicken, and crisps. I can get a better salad at Chick-fil-a for half the price! read more

Pretty upset that I didn't read these reviews until after I ate at the place. I was just thinking it's Panera, what could go wrong? Besides sitting in the drive the drive thru with no movement, I went inside to order. Well...the ordering was fine and once we got our food everything went downhill. Cookie was apparently fresh, but hard as a piece of wood. My grilled cheese looked like someone slapped the cheese inside not melted and the bread was soft and cold. They ran out of milk for a shake, so if that's the case don't advertise that shakes are on the menu. Service was slow, horrible food. read more

I could hardly understand what the worker was saying because they spoke so quietly. Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority. There was a gentleman waiting on another customer. A female employee walked up to the next register as if she were going to open for orders. I asked for a brochure that lists ingredients for salads, and she replied they no longer have them because they are trying to be "environmentally friendly". Never mind customer convenience. No one has though to post one on a wall for people to look at? She then said "We can tell you what is in any item." I then said "What is in the Asian Sesame salad?" She pointed to her coworker still helping another customer and said "Well, he can tell you" and walked away. Seriously?! I guess "We" means "Not me". Since the other customer was taking awhile, I tried looking on the website. After several tries I found, not a list, but an online order screen. Clicking the customize button would surely list ingredients, right? Well, sort of. Dressings are abbreviated and clicking on them doesn't give the full name. This experience tells me Panera Bread is not interested in making customers feel wanted or valued. read more

This location needs some serious help. I agree with all the other reviews. They are usually out of something and the lines are always long. I won't be back because it's not worth my time. This time they ran out of French baguettes. The last time they ran out of the soup. The time before that the line was so long I had to leave. The one star is for my one warm broccoli cheese soup that I had. Oh what a surprise! They are out of French banquets again. Oh and 5 days ago the drive through was closed. The drive through line is always slow, the food quality is terrible and my order has been messed up multiple times (given the wrong salad, charged for a large but given half portion etc). Today my sandwich barely had any chicken salad filling, it's as if they ran out and tried to make it work instead of just telling me it wasn't available. This used to be my favorite place by far for a yummy lunch or dinner. What happened ? The sandwiches I enjoyed are either off the menu or very skimpy. I did not get a choice of an apple or chips, I got a piece of bread with my sandwich that already had bread . I got the soup and sandwich combo, pick two. The sandwich was good enough but the soup was watery and served in a tiny plastic container. Must have been about 6 Tablespoons of soup. The Green tea was still great thank God ! For some reason couldn't find my reward card in their system even though I used to earn lots of rewards . I also ordered a skimpy chicken teriyaki bowl for my husband and an overpriced pastry. The pastries used to be $1 if you ordered a meal, but not anymore. Brought the food home after paying thirty plus dollars and realized that my favorite place is past history. They PRE-MAKE their sandwiches early in the morning so they can handle the rush for lunch and make more money! Unfortunately the sandwiches end up soggy from the tomatoes and wet lettuce, and the bread about the thickness of a dime. I ordered 7 sandwiches for a business meeting and really offended all my clients by serving them something that looked like it had been through a garbage disposal. When you pile 50 sandwiches on top of each other, the bottom ones are going to be squished flat and ugly. While their menu looks great, their game plan for serving fresh food sucks. If you have to go there, don't order ahead like I did. I think the drive through gives you the pre-made sandwiches as well! In the off hours you may get luck and get a made to order sandwich, but the risk is not worth the wait! read more

Wow, what a zoo. Today (5/2/12) was the grand opening and people were stacked on top of each other trying to get in. This place has a drive through that I was thinking about stopping at but, it was 10+ cars long so, I just drove by. Very cool idea having a drive through for Panera!
