Okay, going 5 stars on our second visit. We stopped in for a bit of a late lunch after loading a 15' U-Haul. So we were hungry! I told my wife she could pick whatever she wanted and we would split a medium. After our first visit we learned that the sandwiches are BIG! She ordered a medium BLT Cheese Steak. I was excited when I heard that is what she had decided on. Been a while since I have had a cheese steak sandwich. The woman at the cash register asked if we wanted sweet and/or hot peppers, we went with both! OMG, it could not have been better! Delicious, messy, spicy and BIG! I was so happy she picked that one, it was so darn good. I would order that sandwich again in a heart beat. I had to stop back by the order counter to let them know how super good it was. After being introduced to Capriotti's years ago (thank you Yelp!), it's been a go-to spot for my husband and me. Before roaming the outlets, we stopped in for lunch. I'll admit, this location is weirdly arranged and kind of small, but gets the job done. We were greeted by the woman behind the counter, placed our order (Hot Italian for me and Wagyu Cheesesteak for him) and within about 10 minutes our food was ready! Each sandwich is made from scratch each order, so the wait was no problem. My hot Italian was decent - would have loved if the bread was toasted, but was tasty, nonetheless. My husband was happy with his sandwich and chips as well. It is kind of pricey - but for the quality of food and today's prices, it's not terrible. Just something to be aware of! One criticism, I don't know if they were understaffed or what, but the entire space was filthy. Crumbs, lettuce, napkins and used cups were all over the tables, floors and counter. I've gone here three or four times using one of the local high school fundraising coupons. And they've honored it every time, and it's a really great deal. Their sandwiches are delicious. I've only had the turkey sandwiches, but they're all really good, very large, filling and they use real meat not just the old deli cuts but actual meat pieces and it's excellent, really good, really unique sandwiches that are really delicious. read more

Looking for a good sub shop, this is not one! We walked in and found no customers. My wife ordered a turkey sub with provolone and tomato grilled. I ordered their Italian sub grilled no lettuce. We both found out the "grilled" meant meat only. The turkey sub came out with all ingredients on the sub. My Italian came out with lettuce, no provolone and very little meat. Nothing like the pictures! The girl at the register was wearing a FILA sweat top & bottom and didn't really care what we ordered. She called our names out when the subs were done instead of walking them over to the table. Again no one in the place! Her calling out my name sounded like she didn't know who had the subs! We ate the subs at the table and watched the same dull service 2 different times. Overall a place I will not recommend for a sub sandwich. The meat was portioned so small it was ridiculous, fixings were little and wrong, I had 1 tomato slice cut in half for my entire Italian sub. Poor service. Don't understand the low reviews. This was a very solid sandwich! I loved the thanksgiving sandwich, ask for gravy on the side. They have quite a few seating areas inside but I took mine to go. I did take one star off because the prices are $1-2 dollars to expensive. This was quite a pricy sandwich, and it took around 20 minutes to get two sandwiches. It was around 2pm when I came so if it were rush hour lunch I would expect it to be a bit slower but this felt like a long wait. Wouldn't have minded the price if the food was ready in 5 - 8 minutes. If you are looking for a solid sandwich this is a good spot. Overall 4/5 stars. read more

Kids decided we were having subs tonight. I ordered the Classic Cheese Steak Sandwich. It has grilled choice steak, mushrooms, onions, white American cheese and hot peppers. The steak was just a bit dry, everything else was perfect. Very flavorful. The big plus for me having Capriotti's for the first time was the sub bun which was nice and soft, very tasty. By far the best quick sandwich in Castle Rock. They make a Thanksgiving turkey sandwich (Hot Bobbie) that actually tastes like fresh turkey leftovers. Beyond awesome. Do yourself a favor and get the American Wagyu Slaw Be Joe for a wonderful suspension of reality. The mouth breathers working here were daring each other to eat directly out of the food prep bins with the serving utensils. After living in Castle Rock for nearly 5 months, I finally got around to trying this place. This was my first time in any Capriotti's and part of me thinks I shouldn't have started lol. I was very impressed with their food! I will need to discipline myself not to go too often here. I like the location of this place. However, they're not easy to access via driving. They're still doing some building in this area and developing nearby. Interior has a nice classy appeal for a sandwich shop. It's also clean. From what I noticed, tables seemed clean and floors weren't dirty. I also used the restroom after ordering and it was clean as well. For my order, I had the grilled "Bobbie" sandwich. The Bobbie is on a gourmet sub or hoagie and has slow roasted Turkey, handmade stuffing, mayo and cranberry sauce. This sandwich is DELICIOUS! It's like having Thanksgiving dinner in a sub. I can see why it's an award winning sub. They nailed it! I may get hooked on ordering this every time I go here. I also had a bowl of tomato bisque soup. Their tomato soup is delish too! I like that it doesn't taste like soup out of a can. It's seasoned well too. I ordered the sub and soup to go. They deliver it to you in a nice brown paper bag. Staff was okay. I can't say they were friendly or accommodating. Just average. I'm glad that I finally made it in here! If you haven't been to a Capriotti's yet, what are you waiting for? Capriotti's is a sandwich/sub chain that has gotten popular over the last few years. Menu is pretty large so everyone in your group can find something they like. Their sandwiches comes in half, small, medium and large. Their large is 18 inches long, honestly probably enough to feed a small family for lunch. My go-to is The Bobbie, its basically a delicious combination of your classic thanksgiving food. It has turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing. I don't really like the bread as its really soft. I prefer a slight crunch to give a different texture with my meal. Other than that, its great! Make sure to get it warm! It is usually on-point but this location's turkey is on the dryer side. Another thing that knocked this place a few stars was just the fact it took so long to get our order and it does not seem to have an organized way of getting the orders out. I noticed that multiple people who ordered later than myself received their order firs which is quite frustrating. It took almost 30 minutes for our order. read more

Good quality ingredients and flavor combinations. Clean establishment, lots of people filtering in and out at lunch time on a Saturday. Like that there are rewards and free kids grilled cheese with the purchase of an adult sub. Size small is perfect for us. Only complaint is the bread is really thick and so it makes it seem like there isn't enough filling. Would prefer if they used thinner and wider sub rolls. Went to Capriotti's for the first time, today. The menu looked really impressive (a bit expensive for sandwiches), and I was having a tough time choosing, so I asked the cashier if there was something that I shouldn't miss. As she started to say "Try the Bobbie", the guy behind her said "Get the Bobbie, hot, extra cranberry sauce". Sure, I love a turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich the day after Thanksgiving (who doesn't)...but in April? I went with their recommendation. This was such a good sandwich. Sometimes things aren't all they're cracked up to be. That was not the case with Capriotti's - thank goodness!! We heard through the grapevine that Capriotti's had a soft opening over the weekend and decided to pop in to see if a sandwich shop near home was on the list of needs and it's turns out that it is. There's plenty of easy access parking within a good sized lot. They have some outdoor patio seating which will be great on those less windy days. Seeing as it's a brand new location, it was definitely clean and well staffed. Everyone seemed to put their best foot forward and we hope that remains the case as the weeks and months pass by. I tried the Bobbie without Mayo and served hot. I liked that I had the option of a hot or cold sandwich. It was allegedly small, but nothing about this was small. I ate half and brought the second half home for my son who was a fan too. The turkey is fresh roasted and clearly not a lunch meat product. I loved that!! The cranberry sauce on my sandwich was not too tart and not too sweet. It had a nice balance. So the stuffing was not my mama's, but it was tasty. We both agreed the bread Capriotti's uses is good. It actually has some chew to it and feels like real bread instead of the "air bread" some other shops serve up. My sandwich was serve cold despite being requested hot, but it was a trial run and if it tasted that good cold, I can only imagine it will be even better hot the next time I order it. My husband went with a hot grilled Italian sans tomatoes. He really liked it and said he would come back. I took a bite to form my own opinion and I couldn't help but agree. The flavor combo was very good and there was plenty of food on a small sandwich. I love that they have cream soda and root beer available as a fountain drink. I'm really not doing the carbonation lately, but I did try both and need to note the actual brand next time. It was yummy. Next time we are looking forward to trying their cookies/brookies, a cheesesteak and maybe some soup. REALLY wanted to like this place. And the taste of the wagyu beef was yummy. Everything else was not. Barely any meat on either sandwich. Chicken parm sandwich bread was SUPER soggy and husband barely ate half of the 5'. The taste of the beef on my sandwich was actually great, but didn't get meat in every bite because of the lack of it. The staff was super young and I hate to say it - but pretty rude. I also was not happy with the staff working, they did have gloves but kept touching the register, their face & hair and then made sandwiches. Honestly, nothing special. The restaurant is an odd combination of high priced sandwiches and cheap interior finishes. The guy giving the sandwiches out was rude after waiting 10 minutes I went up to check what was going on and he shouted "I said I'll tell you when it's ready and you can check the cubby area". Love having something new to the area. Many of the restaurants in the area are not staffed and not open most of the time. I prefer basically any other sandwich place over this one but I'm willing to try again. First, it's pretty pricey, which I will pay if I know I'm getting consistent quality but seems like this place might struggle with that. My husband liked his sandwich (a hot Italian) although the whole wrapper was wet and practically dripping by the time he got to eat it (it was a to go order) so that made it hard to unwrap and would have been very messy if we were planning to put it in a bag or anything else other than the sack it came in. Seems like thicker paper or foil may be better if there's a lot of toppings on the sandwich. I got just the basic turkey sandwich (cold). It was soooo dry, I literally took half the turkey off and added condiments from my house to the sandwich and that made it a touch better. I don't like the bread, it is way too soft for a cold sandwich. That combined with the turkey dryness, I was sucking down a ton of water to be able to finish my dry sandwich. I was expecting a lot considering how much they advertise their turkey. $2.50 for just a bag of chips is quite high. The staff was a little rude but my order was done on time when I went to pick it up. All in all sounds like this place has the same staffing issues everyone else does but also has a lot of kinks to work out otherwise. read more
