After ordering and paying, I found out there would be a 25 or 30 minute wait for one little sandwich. No apology, just told after the fact. Other people found out, while picking up their French dip, that there was no au jus. When someone asked why it would take so long, the answer was, "because people keep ordering". First after I ordered it said it would be ready 15 minutes after. Then after I paid it said an hour after. We only ordered a salad so wouldn't think it would too difficult to toss together. And when I arrived it was a quick in and out transaction. I felt like I needed some rabbit food tonight.The salad had a generous scoop of turkey, cucumber, green peppers with dressing on the side. This review is specific to: Firehouse Subs 11280 S. Twenty Mile Rd. #102 Parker, CO. 80134 303.841.7827 I attempted to call in a take our order on Saturday, 6/17/2023.... When I called in the person who answered greeted me with "hello". The greeting surprised me, so I responded with "Hello, is this Firehouse Subs?" The person responded, "Yes, this is Firehouse Subs.". I told him I wanted to place a takeout order, and he asked me for my telephone number and placed me on hold. The hold was inordinately long, so I hung up and decided to order elsewhere. However, the whole exchange was so strange I called back after a short while and was now greeted by a young lady. I asked if a manager was on duty, and she responded "Yes". I asked to speak to the manager and she asked me "Why?" I repeated I wanted to speak to the manager and you relayed me to Nathan. I asked him if he was truly a manager and he acknowledged he was the manager. I explained what happened on the initial call and asked him what was going on over there. I was so totally taken aback by the total lack of professionalism and lack of business phone etiquette. I told Nathan I would check in on Monday with a supervisor/manager to ensure sure that he was truly a manager; not just the one who drew the short straw and had to deal with my call. Frankly, my 8-year-old grandson displays more phone etiquette and savvy in dealing with strangers than this employee who initially answered my call. I'm assuming this kid is at least high school age and based on that assumption should have more sense than he displayed. Begs to ask if the store owner/main supervisor even trains these employees prior to letting them loose to deal with the general public. I'm not suggesting this kid should be reprimanded but he should be trained and/or re-trained before being allowed to deal with the public. Wow; just a totally BAD experience. Not a good first experience. I went to this location for lunch with my son and his friend. I ordered a salad to eat there. But when I went to get utensils, there were no forks. I asked for one at the counter; the boy said they didn't have any. How was I supposed to eat my salad, in the restaurant, without a fork? The manager refunded my money, happily without a hassle, but I would have ordered something else, or eaten somewhere else, if they'd told me they didn't have forks when I ordered the salad. Fire house used to be one of my favorite places to go for lunch. It's been about six years since I have been there. I don't think I will be returning after my last experience. I ordered the large sub. There was an older lady and a younger employee bickering back-and-forth the whole time I was there. The sandwich was horrible. Not only did it not seem like a large but the bread was very hard, dry and there was hardly any meat on the sandwich. I looked directly at the person who handed me the sandwich when it was ready and said thank you they didn't even look at me or reply. The drink machine was malfunctioning and squirted all over my shirt when I was getting the beverage. Firehouse Subs has long been one of my top-two sub places. Plus I have a soft spot for Firefighters, etc. Anyway, the Hook and Ladder (ham and turkey) is my all-time favorite choice. (Meatball is #2) I hadn't been there in several years and was really looking forward to a H&L yesterday. I was SO disappointed. I chose order ahead for pick up. I had not done that before. First of all, the pick up location was not well marked and, since this was my first time, I went up to the counter. The young lady was not real helpful, brought me my order and made me feel like an idiot. She never did explain the process. I finally saw the pick-up location on the way out. Now for my sandwich.... Not only was the bread VERY dried out, but there was a glob of turkey at one end and a glob of ham on the other. At least spread the meats out so you get both in each bite. After some rearranging and picking off all the dry bread, I ate it. The taste was still there, thankfully, despite very thin tomato slices. What has happened to quality control and management's training? I will get the H&L again some day but not for pickup. I will stand there and guide the sandwich making so I know my hard-earned money is not going to be tossed down the sink. read more

Dang! That was an amazingly good sandwich. I especially like how the bread is soft and then slightly warmed - not too much so it's crunchy or dry, but just enough. The staff is friendly and comes around to check on your order after you've received it - which I think shows a little bit of class. Fresh ingredients are the star here. Why haven't I eaten at Firehouse more often? After this trip, where I enjoyed a medium turkey sandwich and a drink for around 8 bucks, I think I'll visit much more often! Great sandwiches, always tasty! Kaylee, the manager here is fabulous. The team and people are always pleasant and work hard and well together whether the place is slammed and busy or just a few are in for a later lunch. Yesterday we ordered in the restaurant for take out and when we got home we noticed a few errors in our order and the sandwiches. I called in to make the manager aware, just so they could know there might be some training issues. I spoke with Kaylee and she was attentive and wanted to make it right by us on our next visit, despite my call coming in during a busy lunch service. Visited this location, 12/4/22, and they were slammed. The team of young adults and teens were professional and focused on grinding out order after order. They were unflappable. I was impressed. I was also impressed with the patients of the folks in the dining room, waiting for their food. I waited 30 minutes and that was the norm. These employees did an outstanding job when they were slammed! There was only 4 of them. @Firehouse, you have some good employees working here today. We came to Firehouse for a bad bad reason. I am really craving what I consider a traditional sub shop salad. One with cold cuts, cheese slices and shredded lettuces. Firehouse didn't have this. It is not their fault but I was still sad. This place is a step up from Subway, I would say it is similar to Jimmy Johns or Pats. The bread was good and crunchy, just how I like it on a sub. The toppings all seemed fresh and most of the choices sounded good (bacon mmm). One of my favorite parts was that the turkey was served warm. I am not a huge fan of toasted subs (I know it sounds crazy) but I really liked that the meat was warm. The other great part was their selection of hot sauces. The boy loves hot sauce so he pulled about 5 of them down and tried them all. They rate them from 1-10 so you don't ruin your sandwich by putting on something you can't handle. I was sad to see that they didn't have anything lower than a 3 because I am a bit of a pansy. Another cool thing is their coke machine. It is one of the fancy new ones where you can mix flavoring into your drinks. I tried a orange sprite.....sometimes there is a reason they don't mass produce things like this, it tasted like crap.
