Tried the new Croque Monsieur Croissants toast and I am still thinking about 5 hours later. The spread they put on it was creamy Guyere cheese mixed with carmelized onions and it was ahhhhmazing. The ham and provolone filled this soft croissant sandwich. The bread is thick but soft. I always use rapid pick up which is super convenient. I love how they now bring your food to your table and usually come quickly to clear your table. I usually get a soup & half sandwich which is a perfect portion for lunch. The chicken wild rice has always been my favorite. I usually do a turkey sandwich with my soup, but was looking for something different today and the greeter gave me a wonderful recommendation of the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt. YUM!!!! What happened? This used to be a favorite morning stop. Today we were greeted by a growly woman at the counter. She chastised my husband for changing his coffee order from a large to a mug. I ordered a bagel with veggie cream cheese. The burned bagel arrived with no cream cheese; they are out of the veggie. They did substitute plain; I should have sent the bagel back. Like cardboard. Hubby ordered a ham, egg & cheese breakfast sammie. One slice of thin, cold bread with maybe an ounce of ham. Ordered an over easy egg; arrived over hard. Most tables were dirty; no excuse. They weren't at all busy. Coffee was as great as ever but the food and the service were awful. Darn it. read more

I used to love Panera, but I honestly don't think I'll be going there again without a gift card or some other way to offset the cost. I hadn't been there for awhile, but had a gift card. The prices had jumped up several dollars per item since the last time I was there, and I thought it was steep then. The food is still really good, but the prices are higher than a lot of full service restaurants for the amount of food and direct service provided. Achoo! Excuse me. It seems every time I come to Panera, I have a cold. The wife and I love the Big Kid or Fontina grilled cheese sandwich along with some of their delicious tomato soup. Nothing warms us up better than the soup- in a bread bowl- or not. Either way, delicious. I have most recently discovered their breakfast menu and am currently going on the tour for those options. The Burnsville location has one downside and that is parking. It sucks. It's not their fault though, it's mostly the ninja mall customers parking to sneak into Dick's sporting goods. The store is always clean and the staff is always friendly. Service speeds tend to be a bit slow here so you will find yourself meandering by the fountain drink station waiting for your food. This is the case mostly with to-go orders. If you're eating in-store, they give you a buzzer to hold onto at a table of your choice. Overall it's a valid noms option if you're in the Burnsville Center area and you're trying to avoid Applebee's (as you really should). Their sandwiches are delicious, pastries are delicious and of course, their bread. I never really thought to do a review of Panera since it's kind of chain that most people know about, but the other day I wondered if people knew how amazing their morning souffles were, and I thought "Hey....maybe I should write a review"? So, most people know about their bagels and their soups and sandwiches, but they also offer these amazing souffles in the morning. I only allow myself this as a treat sometimes because I have to be an adult and go to work, and when I have a harder day than usual doing that, I will head to Panera and enjoy one of their rich, strong cups of coffee and a Spinach Artichoke souffle. Sometimes I will have a 4-cheese or a ham and cheese instead since I really do like them all! It has a croissant/puff pastry-type base and sides and is filled with this lovely quiche-type filling which is creamy and flavorful...so dang delicious!! Panera also offers breakfast sandwiches, some limited bakery options, and fantastic bagels (their Asiago bagel...oh yes!). The thing I appreciate about Panera is that they will add new things to their menu to move with the times, they use really beautiful, fresh ingredients, and there is a lot of variety. For instance, the Pick Two is fantastic! It allows you to mix up soup, salads, or sandwiches in whatever combination feels right that day and it's always so fresh tasting! Their side of baguette with a little butter...and some chicken wild rice soup....amazing! If you haven't tried Panera for some reason (like maybe you are from out of state), it's a really nice, and quick option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. read more

On multiple occasions, their lettuce was brown and wilted, and I found hair in my food not once, but twice. I wIll definitely never eat at this location again. I was unfortunately disappointed with my visit to the Burnsville Panera. I am an avid visitor and love to get their Mac and cheese. Today I was given something that resembled their signature dish, but was not the smooth, creamy white sauce. The dish was cold, clumpy cheese and I ended up throwing over half of it away. Normally I would brush this off as a one time thing, but has happened to me once before at this Panera and this location only. I would rather have gone to Target to get the Mac and cheese the in refrigerated section for a lower price than stop in today. I do a lot of business with Panera because I'm on sales and I'll probably try to move my business to Zupa's instead. They mixed my gluten free cookies in a box with gluten cookies. I brought lunch to my customer and they totally forgot part of my order. Embarrassing. I gave the customer my lunch and didn't eat. Then when I called to see if they would deliver the missing items they said no. Lastly they said they would send me a certificate for the missing food. WHAT?!? I order lunch from here just about every workday. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating (I've seen some reviews saying they aren't, I don't know what that's about because I've only had good experiences), and my orders are always ready to go within a few minutes. I've never had a problem with my food here, it's always delicious! This place is obviously well managed, staff are always so nice to me as soon as I walk in, they've really got the whole customer service thing down to a T! Only thing I could say is that, at busier times, tables tend to get a little dirty, but that's to be expected when you've got a mob of people trying to get dinner. Easily the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced...anywhere. Not a one time ordeal, but after three progressively worse lunch trips I've sworn off Panera forever. Went from small problems like not having the pre-ordered lunch ready on-time the first two times to my last ever Panera trip. I ordered lunch online early in the day because they have a cutoff time for lunch orders. As usual, when I went to pick it up, the food was nowhere near ready. After ten minutes, one manager thought she had me in a box and rudely asked "well, what time did you put the order in?" She was unprepared for me to tell her 9:45 (for a noon pickup). After another 15 minutes of her acting unprofessional in-front of staff and customers they had my food ready. They didn't charge me for the sandwiches, but they're lucky I didn't just walk out and leave them holding the sandwiches. Have not been back since, bring up this experience whenever someone mentions Panera (often I do say it's probably just the Burnsville location) and have no desire to ever go back. read more

If you're looking for an alternative to lettuce and other mixed greens salads, look no further than Panera's spinach and bacon salad. I tried a Pick 2 version this week and was pleasantly surprised. So, on Wednesday evening, I tried a whole spinach salad. Talk about HUGE portion, but I managed to devour it without much trouble. I was a bit apprehensive with the pickled onions at first (acid reflux with raw onion), but the pickled pink onions had no effect at all. I highly recommend this salad. I have been to this Panera Bread location a couple of times, but the last was probably two years ago. I had good service and good food when I'd been there before, so when I found myself in Burnsville around dinner time a couple weeks ago I decided to stop there with my daughter. We should have just left right away given the rude cashier we had to deal with. She seemed annoyed that we were bothering her with ordering food and informed us that they were out of bread bowls, as well as the bread that is meant to go with the chicken sandwich I ordered. I ended up ordering a chicken sandwich with a cup of wild rice soup and my daughter ordered a bowl of wild rice soup with a bread side. As we waited for our food we noticed how dirty the whole place was. It looked like it had been quite a while since it had been cleaned up and surfaces wiped down. As for the food, the soup was only lukewarm and it tasted heavily of flour. There just wasn't much flavor to it. My sandwich was skimpy and looked like it had come out of a package and warmed up, like something you'd find in the frozen food section of the grocery store. While we ate our meal we had to listen to workers behind the food pick-up area argue about who had done more work on a previous shift. One worker was accusing the other of doing nothing but sitting in the office for hours with another employee during their last shift together. They bickered about this through our entire meal and were making no attempt to be quiet with their disagreement. I agree with the review on 9/23/2015 that this seems to be a place run by teenagers who not only have no idea what they are doing, but they just don't care. I know an employee eager to clean my table, when I saw many other ones dirty, took my roll and probably swiped it. I was running in to get a couple of drinks for my pregnant wife and I while she sat in the car waiting for me to return. After waiting almost 9 minutes for my drinks, I brought them out to the car. My wife was disgusted at how runny her strawberry banana smoothie was and asking me to get her a new one. I went up the the counter where I picked up my drinks and I asked the woman manager with overly long hair that was standing on the other side for a new smoothie since mine was way too thin. She then rolled her eyes threw it away without asking if I wanted to keep both drinks. I heard her after she walked up to the girl making the drinks to make a new one and told her to spit in it since I was "being an ass" to her. Dishes piling up at the trash/return, to the point of covering the entire cupboard. Tables not wiped down. I'm hoping it's just a matter of "all of the staff just never looked out into the dining area" because the possibility of "the kitchen is just as bad" is pretty gross. Yesterday I went online and created an account to place a catering order. I was looking for breakfast items and I loved that the website allowed you to choose delivery or select the store for pickup. I also loved that I could customize my bagel and cream cheese variety pack! I paid online so all I had to do was pick it up in the morning and it was ready as soon as I arrived. I came in, signed the paper and left in around two minutes total! The store was clean, the service was excellent and the food was fresh and delicious! I would definitely do this experience again! I ordered my food through the kiosk which was easy enough. The girl that gave us our food was rude and didn't seem like she cared about what she was there to do. Which is fine - she's young, it's Panera, I get it. My biggest complaint was the bathroom. I have a 3 year old son who is potty trained but doesn't necessarily understand what not to touch in a public bathroom (like the toilet, floor, etc.). It was a nightmare. First of all, it smelled like someone had either urinated outside of the toilet or barfed or both very recently. The smell was nauseating and you could smell it out by the soda machines. I go into a stall with my son, lift the seat, and there was pee, pubic hairs, fecal splatters.... I don't think it has ever been cleaned. The garbage was overflowing with used paper towels. I saw what appeared to be blood smeared on the inside of a stall. By the time we sat down to eat I was so nauseous from the bathroom experience/smell that I couldn't eat. I just don't understand how the staff there could let that ride. Agreed with previous posts that the place is ran by young kids who do not care. If the bathroom is that gross, how gross is the rest of the place? Needless to say, we won't be back. read more
