Food came out great, service was quick and food was just as I ordered. The down side? Place could have used a good cleaning for the seating area. Looks like it may have gotten hit during the weekday lunch rush and nobody had bothered to wipe down the tables. I'm not OCD about it or anything, but the few open tables all had crumbs on them. Plus, they have a lot of two tops here, so seating's tight. Even sitting by myself I felt a bit squished. Anyway, I come to this side of town semi regularly whether it's to see my dad, hit Nino's or eat at the restaurants in the area, so I'm sure I'll be back in one fashion or another. I enjoyed the peaceful ambience and the opportunity to take in my surroundings without the usual rush of a busy dining room. One of the reasons I continue to be drawn to this restaurant is the Michigan salad. I especially appreciate that it is never made with iceberg lettuce, which gives the salad more character, freshness, and nutritional value. The salad itself was beautifully presented and very satisfying. My waitress was accommodating and attentive, never making my request feel like an inconvenience. I could've paid $1.99 to get the real stuff but that seems outrageous for two pieces of French toast. It was good, however not my favorite version of French toast that I've ever had. If they come up with a s'mores, Nutella or Reese's version, I'd be inclined to order that one next time. I arrived about 8:30 in the morning and there were about five other customers there.
