Corned Beef Hash and Over Medium Egg's.
    Chad C.

This place is down the street from my office. So it's convenient for lunch. I love their lemon rice soup. My go-to order is the grilled chicken sandwich. The staff is pleasant. The food is excellent. Also, they have a vast selection of salads. Today I went with breakfast, got the corn beef hash with over medium eggs and toast.

I came here one morning by myself at about 7am and it was completely dead. I was greeted by a lady in the back who told me to sit wherever. She talked to me as if she was confused if why there would be a customer in the restaurants. She took my order and came back to check up on me once. The hashbrowns were super greasy, but the eggs Benedict wasn't bad. I would say this place is anything special, just your typical breakfast diner.

I was the only person in here for breakfast at 7:00 on a weekday, but that's okay. I arrived just as they were opening up, turning on lights and getting this set. So my waitress was attentive and undistracted. This was nice. I opted for the corned beef hash and eggs breakfast which was prepared exactly as I ordered. Eggs poached and one broke. She was sincerely apologetic about that an offered to make a replacement. What? Not needed but very much appreciated. The corned beef was decent and the eggs were just excellent. Toast was as requested as well, without butter. Overall, a solid breakfast that kept me going for hours! Good job, Red Olive!

Get it together if you're going to utilize Grub Hub; twice you've not sent eating utensils. Really? You get the order wrong for a clientele that specifically needs you to get it right. Hello! If I'm using Grub Hub then obviously I'm limited in getting out. How irritating to be ready to eat and can't. Whomever you have filling the orders needs to get it right.

I was surprise by the versatility of the menu! It worried me at first to see mediterranean, Coney Dogs, BBQ ribs, and Breakfast ALL on the same menu. However, the food was good and the service was nice. We went with breakfast! Prices are reasonable, good for kids and groups!

I like the decor, cleanliness and kind service. Chicken Noodle (soup of the day) Hearty and especially satisfying on a cold day with blizzard temps. I recommend to get it with bread or biscuits because the crackers make the already salty soup even saltier. Berryliciois Waffle Belgian waffle with mixed berries, lineage mixed berry sauce and homemade custard sauce. Without a doubt, the bomb!! Soft and chewy, fresh and crispy on the edges with just the exact amount of berry sauce drizzle. You don't need syrup, although I added it anyway, especially with that scoop of custard sauce right in the middle. Not to be shared next time! Michigan cherry salad Mixed greens, dried (and tart) Michigan, cherries, strawberries, green, apples, crumbled, goat, cheese, onions, tossed with raspberry vinaigrette. I thought the cherries were comparatively chewy to the other ingredients which disrupted the pace of eating. I also shouldn't have added smoked salmon - which was fine, just I think the chicken would have been a better pairing here. Service is nice and outstanding. I'll definitely come back here for more waffles! That's all....

My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70.

There is absolutely nothing bad on the menu. There are so many delicious items, I have a hard time picking what I want since I want everything. First, I love their coffee. We came for lunch and I had already had my morning coffee, but we had not been here in so long, I needed my Original coffee fix and ended up having three more cups. Their coffee taste great all ways, black, with cream, with cream and sugar, so good! My child had a strawberry lemonade. They limit you to only one refill, but they were very kind and asked her if she was ready for her second cup. We love their specialties, which they do warn you takes extra long to bake, about twenty minutes, but it is always worth it. I ended up getting the baby Dutch garden, which is baked. It is so good, so underrated, I love this one every time. It is like an omelette inside a German pancake. It is perfection. I always also need something sweet, so I got a half order of blueberry pancakes. The batter is so good and they give you a side of blueberries in syrup. My child got the baked apple. This is the most iconic treat and a must order if you have never been here before. Again, it is baked sugar, apples and cinnamon inside a German pancake. We both had leftovers. So, each of our meals was like two meals. My husband got the broccoli and cheese omelette and a side of chocolate chip pancakes. They have hands down the best chocolate chip pancakes in the area and their omelettes are so fluffy and delicious. Personally, when I get their omelette, I get the spinach and cheddar which is amazing. Other items I love include the 49ers. Those are the best pancakes, they are a hybrid crepe and American pancake, and if you have never had one, you need to try them, they are ginormous. Their buckwheat pancakes are also so good. Their orange juice is typically fresh squeezed and worth ordering, and there are so many other items I have never tried because I do not have enough room in my stomach. This is a must try for everyone. There is usually a long line, but it tends to go quickly. Service is always friendly.

I ordered the Mediterranean skillet, lemon pancakes, and a side of biscuits and gravy. Yes, this was a heavy breakfast! The Mediterranean skillet had plenty of feta, which I LOVED but it was dry overall. There was no sauce to really bring everything together. I even got eggs over medium and the egg yolk did not add much creaminess. It was good, just not my favorite thing I've eaten. The lemon pancakes were absolutely unreal. Sooo fluffy and the cream cheese frosting was incredible. I would 100% recommend them. I also tried a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very thick, which was not my favorite, but the gravy itself was amazing, but it's the white super peppery kind, which I know is not everybody's favorite! Again, just kind of dry, even with the gravy. The service was good, and for a Saturday around 11 AM, the 20 minute wait was totally reasonable. I would definitely come back, just probably not for the skillet next time.
