We placed pur order just about 5.30 for delivery We live across STREET After an hour I started calling, and getting hung up on. The track order let us know when dinner went out for delivery. It took a nice tour to eventually go to my neighbors on the other side of our circle 20 minutes later. I missed my scheduled phone call that evening, the hot sandwiches were cold and gross, and absolutely nothing good came out of this experience. I've dined in twice, each to disappointing results. Ordered takeout a few times from this location, and the service is hit or miss. The last time they completely forgot a whole sandwich and chicken on my salad. When I called, they offered to refund the price of the sandwich, but if I still wanted the sandwich, I would have to reorder it again and pay the delivery fee even though it was their mistake. This is a long overdue update to my complaint last November 2021. I was outnumbered on not to continue ordering from here every Friday by my colleagues....lol. So, I have to say I was very impressed to see how quickly this location stepped up their game. The very next week, after my bad review, our orders started coming to us correct. I hate it when i have to give such a low rating to a favorite brand but this Panera has an issue with poorly trained cashiers​ who can't get your order correct. It's not the first time either. I have been to so many fast food restaurants some even staffed with folks who barely speak English but they do a far better job than the native speakers at this Panera branch in Ashburn. The manager of this branch is putting form over function when it comes to some of the cashiers. I should try the kiosk next time, despite my dislike for automation that's​ obviously geared at replacing people. Update: came on easter Sunday and ordered the chicken fuj apple salad which i ordered so many times before at other Panera locations. I simply could not eat it. I'm a fan of Panera. Not THIS Panera. The bagels are so inconsistent, frequently out of popular flavors, and the lines move unbelievably slow. I've been in been before work at 8am and they've been out of Everything bagels, and then I took the very last 2 sesame and asiago bagels. One of the joy's of Panera bagels is that they are big and soft. Not these. They are smaller than the others and don't seem as soft as other locations (I usually get mine at the South Riding store). This specific Panera bread has always had its ups and downs until management set good examples and a healthy workplace for these employees. Raul is an example of a manager who not only recognizes me as a regular and is incredibly cordial but also makes sure my order is perfect every visit I have. I am a evening time regular and he sees me often and to be greeted and made sure that my order is right and appreciated as a regular is quite nice to have at my neighbor hood Panera bread. What can I say. I love the menu options but it's a wild card what the quality will be. I typically get the "You Pick 2" option with a Thai Chicken salad, and broccoli cheddar soup. Both are very tasty. With that being said, it's typically so busy it's hard to find a place to park. Today, for instance, I parked at the bank across the street from Panera and walked over. As suspected it was crazy busy. I order online for pick-up. This is a fantastic option. As stated before, the food is usually prepared well, but sometimes it leaves more to be desired. Case in point, I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and the tomato soup. The tuna sandwich was all kinds of wrong. First is was in a small clump in the middle of the sandwich bread. Not that I'm picky, but spread it around at least. And secondly, it must have just come out of the fridge or freezer because it was a frozen block of tuna salad....gross....I took the sandwich back and spoke to the manager to get another sandwich. I went beside the counter because I forgot to tell him the order was with no onion on the sandwich. As I did this I caught them laughing and talking about the sandwich. I knew they were talking about it because when I spoke to them, they looked up at me like deer in headlights. They acted like they just got caught saying something they shouldn't. The worst wifi in the history of wifi. I honestly believe I could carry the ones and zeros to t3h internets faster than their router/connection can. Don't even think about it you require a VPN to get any real work done. I spent 45 minutes at this location and my connection was reset no less than 319 times. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating... but the longest I could manage without a reset was about 5 minutes. So it's not about the wifi, right? Well, considering the only reason I go is for the wifi and I spend money I wouldn't otherwise, I'd say it IS about the wifi. Yes, I realize it's free (not really because I buy stuff), but it's not worth what I paid for it. And no, it's not my computer... I work with them for a living and that machine has never had a problem anywhere else, including Starbucks and Caribou. Since those places have waaaaay better coffee anyway, I can't find any reason to patronize this Panera. read more

The funny thing about Saturday, is that it comes around every week. It's even considerate enough to consistently come after Friday. And with Saturdays, come Saturday mornings. With Saturday mornings, here in the 'burbs, come a family-sized desire for bagels, bread, cinnamon rolls, strudel and their ilk. So how has Panera prepared? This is awkward. Because, you see, they have not. I stopped in here at 10:00 on a Saturday morning for two bagels and no coffee. (Sweet Jesus, their coffee is the worst.) There was a respectable line, but I wasn't bothered by that. I joined the tail end of it. Things moved along slowly while Briar Woods and Broad Run HS students threw bagels into the industrial slicer with terrifying élan. With two people ahead of me, it jammed. So they stuck some sort of metal rod down it. That went well. Then they burned some bagels. And ran out of some other bagels. And the guy in front of me in line was paralyzed by the lack of plain bagels. Don't get me wrong: I truly believe these kids were doing their best, and that their best didn't suck. But they had no management support and were understaffed. After serving the guy in front of me, the people manning the register disappeared on the hunt for... who knows what... and no one took another order for a solid three to five minutes. I ordered a toasted bagel and a bagel sandwich. This entire trip took more than 25 minutes. For two bagels. I was particularly annoyed when my buzzer went off before my bagel sandwich was actually ready. I was also peeved that 'toasting' a bagel hardly warmed it and cream cheese application on a to-go order was a DIY activity. The bagels tasted pretty terrible, gummy and gross. I'm also unsure why the chive cream cheese had such strong notes of soy sauce. The food is pretty uniformly disappointing and service is just... overwhelmed. Their habit of limiting wifi between 11:00 and 1:00 isn't really appreciated either. I second comments regarding its speed. Back to the Ashburn Bagel Shop. They may charge twice as much, but it's slightly less of a cluster-you-know-what on weekend mornings. read more

As I mom, I love to go with my girlfriends out for a cup of coffee in the morning and now I have a place where the little ones are occupied and I can talk for a while. Okay I like Panera Bread, but I especially LOVE this location. Why? Because everyone that works there is amazing and always manages to make you feel awesome about yourself from the time you come in until the time you walk out. Like this morning when I was feeling a little down and the weather was gloomy and gross... I walk in to grab a sandwich for lunch and the guy at the register complimented me on my hair and shoes. He helped me choose a bang'n sandwich... and then smiled and told me I should do the same (which I did). And then I moved on to the place where they make your sandwhich and you wait for it and the old man (Tony) was completely amazing and struck up conversation and randomly gave me an apple (which was delish) and told me I should stay (since I got my food to go). The energy in that place is great, it was totally what a needed and they pretty much made my day better. Honestly, this place is like a gay best friend - always loyal and there to lift your spirits when you need it the most! Panera, the new Carson Kressley. I have never been to Panera before, but I used to always hear my college friends rave about it. I finally had the opportunity to go today when my coworkers suggested it for lunch, and it was just okay. It's not somewhere I think that I would go out of my way to eat at, but not somewhere that I'd avoid either. I got the "You Pick 2" deal, with half a Smokehouse Turkey Panini and a Clam Chowder soup, plus a baguette. It was pretty cheap for a decently sized meal. I paid a little under $9. However, I asked for no bacon on my sandwich and I still go bacon. I don't eat red meat, and the pungent flavor of bacon could definitely be tasted in my sandwich even though I picked it out. I didn't bother asking for another one because they were getting pretty backed up. They also (slightly) messed up the orders of two other coworkers I was with. For one, they gave her a bag of chips instead of a baguette, and they exchanged it no problem. For the other, they forgot to put his baguette on his plate with his meal, and he only noticed that when he sat down. When he went up to try and get his bread, they gave him a very hard time about it, with the woman at the counter saying that she "distinctly remembered putting bread on his plate." Obviously not. Overall, though, the food was good. My sandwich was a little dry, but the sundried tomatoes made up for that, and provided a good amount of flavor. It wasn't piping hot when it came out--it was room temperature--but it was still enjoyable. My soup was surprisingly good. It wasn't as watery as a lot of other fast food type places' chowders are. It's not super thick and hearty, but it doesn't have a broth-consistency either. There were also big chunks of clam in it! That's so rare these days, I feel. The restaurant was a bit crowded, but there was ample seating. We easily found a spot for seven people. The tables and chairs are kind of crammed together, making it a bit difficult to navigate, but that's the price you have to pay to get a place to sit. There was minimal wait time with the orders. I think we had just missed the ordering rush, and most people had already gotten their food and were sitting by the time we got there. This Panera Bread is well managed. Last weekend we ordered a whole bunch of things, but the cashier had probably just been hired, and ended up charging us 6 extra bagels. When we complained, the manager took all bagels (we had bought three) off of our bill - this is what I call good customer service - we will be back! :) I also love their lobster roll, even though if the bread was a little thinner it would taste better. I keep trying to cut the bread horizontally ... the lobster is still really yummy though! read more

I don't know why I haven't learned my lesson by this point because no matter what I order or when I order it, they never get it right. I used to order a salad for lunch EVERYDAY and always pay extra for either additional toppings or extra toppings. Every single time I get my food there is an issue: missing toppings that come standard in the salad, missing toppings that I paid extra for, a piece of brown plastic, missing dressing, missing utensils, etc. You name it and it's happened. I have tried to call NUMEROUS times to let them know my order wasn't right and they have NEVER answered the phone. EVER. I had to complain to the driver one day, and he didn't pass on the message either. The following day, I complained again, and finally the message was passed along. The manager called me and gave me his cell phone number apologizing and saying it wouldn't happen again. I ordered again after this conversation and take a guess at what happened....missing items again. So I've been ordering from the lansdowne location for the time and today I se used to give them one more shot. I ordered the Fuji Chicken Salad with extra avocado, extra croutons, and extra blue cheese. They finally got it right on the extra toppings, but my salad is missing the CHICKEN!!!!!! So done. This is a great location of Panera. I've never really been crazy about the food, but they keep adding things to the menu that makes me want to come in since I like the food now! This Panera is always super clean and neat and the people are very nice. You get your food in no time, and you can stay for a while since it's so comfy. The free wifi is definitely a huge plus as well. The management is great-- very nice people. My family comes in a lot and often times the manager will give us complimentary items. I love Panera and am a frequent patron. today was just not good. my son and I got there when they opened 7:00am(7:05am for us) and ordered breakfast sandwiches. No one else was before us and not immediately after us. After 15 mins, our pager still hadn't gone off, nor was any food heading out. 20 mins, I go up to the counter to ask and was told the ovens needed to heat up. Ok? To the side, I see 4 breakfast sandwiches just waiting to be made, perhaps.... By this point, my son and I are getting closer to the time we have to leave for church... 35 minutes later, our name is called. Our sandwiches are played and I tell them I need them to go as now we need to leave. The manager, who is nice in general, just stated that it was because they were short staffed or someone came in late. Well, if you are the manager, shouldn't you check if the ovens are on?-i thought this. I said next time I'll check/ask and order something that doesn't need cooked. Not very apologetic. My son and I get to the car and figured we would eat what we can in the 5 mins to church. Well, both our sandwiches were cold! I had an extra egg, which I only asked egg white for- the counter person is very flaky and not kind-so it could be miss communication on her part. However, our sandwiches should not have been cold!!! I am very unhappy and while I still enjoy panera, they need to get their act together and the manager should have made sure they were cooked correctly. Not my fault that the oven weren't heated up. This is our second experience trying to have breakfast at Panera and it will be our last. We ordered two sandwiches: both Sausage, Egg, and Cheese, one on Ciabatta, the other on a Croissant. The only that that was correct was the bread and sausage. Neither had cheese; the Croissant sandwich had no egg; the egg on the Ciabatta sandwich was over hard, not over easy. Had we chosen to eat in the store, we would have pointed out the problems, but we chose to get the sandwiches to go and didn't see the issues until we were home. Ordered lunch for a meeting with ten people. One of the sandwiches was missing. I immediately tried to call the store. No answer. Hung up called again - tried various extensions including catering, to-go, managers line, etc. Nobody answered any of the phone lines. This location is always complete chaos! Cashiers do not know the menu. I asked about this "hidden" menu item and the guy told me "I don't really know what it is but it doesn't sound good" and that was that. The pagers never work and I saw for over 15 minutes waiting for my food. I finally went to the counter and it was just sitting there. The soup had a thick crisp over it from sitting for so long and was barely warm. I asked them to feel the temp and the girl laughed and said it was cold but that should would replace it.
