Fantastic family owned business in Bellingham! This place is like Willie Wonka's factory and smells amazing when you walk in. The staff are incredibly kind and truly show a passion for their craft. I love the multitude of options they have from fruit, nuts, truffles, bark, and anything else you can think of. Everything is of a high quality and perfect for gifts. Taste of home! Identical to my beloved chocolate shops in and around Pittsburgh, PA. There is parking in front and easy to access. My Dad always says, "smells are free". AND I got my monies worth . So many choices! We got fruit slices, peanut butter chocolate...everything. Chocolate covered pineapple, and a variety of chocolates from the case. Everything was great. The smells alone are worth the visit. This small shop with lots of variety is tucked in a tiny strip mall on a road away from the main shopping area in Bellingham. I stumbled upon it years ago and it has become a go to for classic chocolate shop fare. My family has been coming here for years and have yet to buy something we do not enjoy. The turtles, chocolate covered cherries and chocolate covered dried fruit are our faves but we always find something new to love. New England (or at least Massachusetts) has a host of original chocolate shops in cute little cottages nestled in the woods or between suburban shopping centers. This is not a description of Pandolfi's. Pandolfi's is unassuming in a plain strip mall with a barren feel, but do not be put off my it's lack of cottage charm, Paldolfi's is a five-star establishment. I went inside moments before closing, but the lovely girl behind the counter was happy to let me linger as long as I liked. "Ever have our chocolates before?" she chimed. "Nope." "Would you like to try a piece?" Yeah, you don't have to ask me twice if I want free chocolate. And it was MmmMmmM MMmmMmm good. I walked out with nearly a pund of delicious looking truffles and turtles for my friends for less than $20. (Yes, friends, fine truffles for $20/lb, instead of $3 a piece. I guess the rent at those cottagey places is a lot higher than a strip mall in Bellingham.) Did I mention how great the chocolates are (my friends also let me sample one or two from their box)? The place is beloved by locals, but as nice as they are, and as wonderful as it smells, I have a fear of the "super sugary" hand crafted chocolates that lack tempering and fat (too much sugar). After trying Colts in Nashville, hand crafted chocolates/confections have taken a super high notch in my book. That said, for the locals that enjoy this type of "Cape Cod-ish/beach town" type almost refined chocolates, will find the place intoxicating. Clean, beautifully displayed and LOTS of selection. I'm surprise there weren't more reviews about their chocolate turtles. I'm normally not a fan of turtles but Pandolfi's turtles are an exception. The texture of the caramel is chewy but not too chewy that it'll get stuck in your teeth. The chocolate is smooth and the nuts are crunchy. they come in an assortment of dark, milk, and white chocolate with pecans, cashews, and almonds. Over the years I found that I prefer dark chocolate cashew, milk chocolate pecans, and milk chocolate almond turtles. We even handed out turtles as party favors at our wedding and they were a HUGE hit. Keep in mind I'm from Texas and we had these chocolates shipped all the way from Massachusetts. Everyone that i've ever given these turtles to have LOVED them. If you're on the fence about this place, definitely try the turtles, it'll change your mind. read more

This candy is delicious! The staff is helpful, patient and kind. For the quality the chocolate is really quite inexpensive but because it is a specialty shop it isn't what I would call "cheap". They really only need one word to capture how I feel about this place and that is: YUM The only thing I wish for is CANDY APPLES. This place is magical. It's fall, so my current favorite buy here is the chocolate covered caramel apples. But I literally love EVERYTHING here. It's a very pretty shop, too. I buy gifts here for the holidays (perfect gift to pair with a bottle of wine for the in-laws, ya know?) Who doesn't love to receive fancy candy? Huge variety of chocolates in giant glass cases. My favorite is the chocolate covered orange rinds. I eat myself sick on those. I'm a milk chocolate lady and I love their milk chocolate. It's divine. The shop is much bigger than it looks from the outside. I clearly remember walking into it for the first time and being VERY impressed before I even tried the chocolate. Now, I thought Furlong's (my normal chocolate shop) was great.... but other than the fact that they have ice cream and this place doesn't.... the chocolate here may be a wee-bit better, and the decor and cleanliness of the shop is much better. I have heard about this place from numerous people and thought I'd stop in on Black Friday and fill up a jar at the school I work at with chocolate for the holiday season.... my coworkers and I all LOVE chocolate. So, since I was in the area, I stopped at Pandolfi's and was amazed with everything they had. If there is *ANY* type of chocolate you are looking for, they will have it. No joke. I never even knew so many chocolates existed! Stephen (or Steven?), the manager / employee working at the time I came in was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about everything the store had and helped me find the best milk chocolate assortments (dark is alright, but milk chocolate is the best!). When I got home, I tried a few, and went through a whole bag of the three I bought! Literally, the BEST chocolate I've ever had. This place alone should put Bellingham on the map for best chocolate EVER. Better than Hershey's, Cadbury, and even other chocolate shops I've been to in the past. Even though it may not look appealing from the innocent exterior, and may even look closed (the windows are tinted really dark), it's open and a GREAT place to find absolutely astounding chocolate in the Bellingham area. Pandolfis is hands down the best chocolate around!! I've been going here for years and have never been disappointed. I give their chocolates as gifts often and I always get asked, "Where did you get those amazing chocolates?" My favorite things are the chocolate covered apricots, sea salt caramels, and one cannot leave out the CHOCOLATE CARAMEL APPLES!! Unfortunately they are only available for a couple weeks in the fall. But please do yourself a favor and buy one! They are heaven!!! I once ran into a lady that bought them for all her coworkers and then came back the same day to buy more for her and her family. The chocolates are made on the premises, in a back room. I lived in California and to my taste, these candies beat See's!! They have other kinds of sugary treats besides chocolates and they are great too! My favorite confection is the jellies that melt in your mouth surrounded by a milk chocolate with a smooth texture and coat the inside of your mouth lingering deliciousness. My father was the Chief Candy Cook at E. Rosen Schoolhouse Candy that made lollipops and chocolates for years out of Providence and Pawtucket in Rhode Island. My palate knows good stuff and this is the real thing. So especially in the warm summer weather, don't ship treats, buy them in the area at this wonderful shop and enjoy some of the best the country has to offer! read more

So, I tried Pandolfi's a few months ago and loved it. In between now and then, I tried Green Mountain over in Franklin. They were alright, but Pandolfi's blows them out of the water, so don't waste your time! Everything I have tried has been delicious, but the turtles are by far the best! The chocolate covered cherries are amazing as well. I visited the store yesterday and they have these decorative, sugar Easter eggs that I cannot wait to buy for my niece. Every single chocolate I tried was hard and stale, despite my wife visiting the store in the morning. I really wanted to like this place, but it just didn't come close to meeting expectations. Yummy. There's just no other word for Pandolfi's. This is REAL chocolate. Not cheap chocolate. Not faddish chocolate. Just real, honest to goodness, full of flavor, makes-you-smile- chocolate. The truffles are rich, creamy (but still with real texture), mouth-wateringly delicious. I've also become addicted to the chocolate covered potato chips (weird, but really, really good!) and I've only encountered one other place that has chocolate covered cranberries that are close to these in flavor (and the other place is a great deal more expensive). I brought my children into Pandolfi's today to pick out treats because they had been so well-behaved all week. When we walked in, the woman behind the counter did not even acknowledge us. My girls each picked out their treats and we also picked a small birthday card for a friend. My daughter was holding the card under her arm because her hands were full and the woman reminded us, before we were even at the register, that we needed to pay for it. She rudely told my daughters not to touch anything and when one daughter asked about the penny dish, she grabbed it and moved it behind the counter. A man came out from the back and watched us until we left. I'm sure you're probably thinking that my kids were being little brats and that we look like the kind of people who would steal from a chocolate shop. This is not the case!!! I am a teacher, I was dressed professionally, my children were clean and well-dressed, I drive a new car and my children's behavior was fine... not the kind of people who you would need to worry about leaving a store without paying for something. My advice is don't bring children to Pandolfi's and if you're looking for quality chocolates, drive a couple miles down the road to Green Mountain Chocolate Factory in Franklin. The service, selection and quality is MUCH better. Pandolfi's chocolate is ok, but the service is disgraceful! read more

I am REALLY particular about my chocolates. I hate cheap chocolates (Russell Stover, I'm looking at you), trendy chocolates (get your effing wasabi out of my chocolate please), mall chocolates (sorry Godiva but you charge too much for too little), and most 'modern' artisanal gourmet chocolates (you know...the Earl gray tea that tastes like nothing, the smooth filling devoid of any and all texture, etc). I want REAL chocolates...big flavors, chewy, crunchy textures, nuts you can SEE, fresh ingredients... Ironically this is hard to find in today's increasingly chocolate-obsessed world, but guess what? Pandolfi's has ALL of it! Their chocolates are incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. My only gripe is that they're so far away! They do have an internet store though (thank goodness) so you don't have to drive all the way to Bellingham unless you really want to. read more

I'm from the Western Ma area and had a friend that lived there turned us on to this place and we were hooked!! This place is fabulous!!! Owners were the sweetest,nicest and most helpful people.......you could tell they took great pride in their business. Every time we went to visit our friend there we would always stop there and get some of the goods to take back home. My kids always said how fantastic they were and there was no place better. I agree! Chocolate Covered Cherries,Chocolate covered Apples and Chocolate covered potato chip bark were my fav. First time ever having the potato chip bark and I was hooked! It's to die for!! As weird as it sounds it's real addicting not to mention very hard to find. Happy to see I can order from there now instead of driving 80 miles to get our fix and hopefully some of that bark ha ha!! These chocolates were "ok." I probably wouldn't return to buy more. At about $22 a pound, these were nothing special. They weren't stale. The best was probably the dark chocolate sea salt. I have had chocolate from chocolate shops all over the world and this one just doesn't hold a candle in my opinion. I don't particularly like godiva chocolates from the godiva stores, but I hazard to say that in my opinion even the godiva truffles are better than these. The flavors here were nothing special and fairly one-note in terms of sweetness (except for the sea salt caramel aforementioned). I probably won't return, even though I live close by.
