I just discovered this cute food trailer "Cafe Parkside" on Yelp as I was looking for restaurants…read morein Kalihi. Not sure where it was located in Kalihi, but I was determined to find it. I was at Richies Drive inn when I remembered to check out this place. It was about a couple lanes or two further down North King Street heading west and sure enough you can spot the cute food trailer in the parking lot. Did you know the family built this wooden cafe on the trailer together?! The Kids helped built this with the direction of their father. They are parked near the street in the shared parking lot with the Pawn shop & Jackson Hewett Tax Servive. It's across the Kapalama Post office but before the old Pizza Hut location and I think after Palace Saimin You would only see the cafe on the trailer from Tuesday-Friday from 11am -5pm. There are some picnic benches and chairs under the canopy tent while you wait. In the beginning they started out in Waimanalo but for now they are here in Kalihi. They are known for their Steak and Shrimp plate and their two huge pieces of boneless fried chicken. They have some regular items and some specials of the day. Best to call ahead and place your order. The fried chicken would take the longest about 10 minutes wait time. They have some other items which sounded good like pot roast pork which is not offered all the time, hamburger steak. Kalbi, loco moco, bbq chicken, etc. On a hot day, shave ice and slushies and slushes floats would be refreshing. They have lemonade and orange aid slushies , but I got an orange aid slushie float with ice cream. I decided to get the fried chicken since I had some time to wait. it was huge as the photos posted and it was $12! It was hot and crispy in a seasoned flour battered. I couldn't wait to take a bite as I was driving, but I just tried part of the fried batter. It was seasoned so it was a little salty for me perhaps I just ate the batter part. The chicken gravy given was really good but having two humongous boneless chicken, I may need more gravy than the large portion cup given. Chicken tasted better after pouring some of the gravy over it. The gravy was yummy and not the brown gravy, but the light tan gravy! I'm looking forward to try more dishes like the rib eye steak, pot roast pork or some other specials. Please support this family own business! Daily specials are posted on their Instagram page @cafeparkside808. They were so nice and down to earth. I was grateful for their great & friendly service and they even offered to bring my order to my car since I wanted to wait in my car. They have some regular customers now but could use more customers since they are a new business. Prices were reasonable with generous portions. Still need to try more plates but I'll give them a rating of 4.5 stars rounded up! Thanks for reading my reviews =)

Vince took our order and was patient with all our questions. Finally landing on the Combo plate with Korean fried chicken with dynamite sauce, and a huge piece of ahi tuna. It comes with a scoop of rice and we picked the macaroni salad. They also offer a lettuce salad. All for $19.95! The business model currently is carry out only, You get a text when your order is ready and out comes this generously filled clam shell of food. So much that they use a rubber band to close the container!

When the food is ready, you get a text, pick-up is on the kitchen-side, backdoor. We'd heard good things about their steak, dynamite chicken, and ahi katsu so we wanted to try all three. There is a chicken + meat combo that allows you to upgrade the meat to ribeye; we ordered this plate with all green salad. Then we ordered the King Kam ahi katsu with rice and upgraded the side to imitation crab salad. If you love sauce, this is for you. Their fried items are nicely cooked, the ahi katsu had a nice rare center and the boneless chicken was still juicy, but both lost their crispness under a mountain of seasoned soy sauce, Kewpie mayo, sriracha aioli, and sweet chili sauce. With the additional garlic, katsuobushi, furikake, and green onion, these are flavor bombs. The ribeye had a nice char from the grill. It's served with a side of crack sauce which has a vinegar, fish sauce base, plus chili, garlic and cilantro. The heat from the steak and chicken withered the bed of green salad underneath, so we didn't eat it; serves us right for not getting rice and mac salad with a plate lunch. At Kingz, more is more. If you are looking for a new plate lunch spot, check them out.

Outstanding Soul Food!…read more Heaven's Soul Food Cuisine definitely lives up to its name! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful soul food that reminds you of a good home-cooked meal, this is the place! We ordered the fried fish and fried chicken, and both plates were loaded with food. The fish was fried to a beautiful golden crisp, and the chicken had that perfectly seasoned, crunchy coating you want from great Southern cooking. The sides were just as impressive! The mac and cheese, collard greens, green beans, yams, and rice brought the entire meal together. Everything looked homemade, and the portions were generous. It's not always easy to find good, traditional soul food, especially while visiting Hawaii, but Heaven's Soul Food Cuisine delivers! A great spot when you're craving Southern comfort food. Definitely a 5-star experience and a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for some good soul food in Honolulu!

Food was very tasty, small portions, but tasty. DJ was awesome. We came a bit before the crowd but still had plenty jams to enjoy as we ate. Would definitely come again for the r&b brunch. I constantly pass this obvious gray truck quietly parked right along Mother Waldron Park in the early hours like a silent nudge for some early morning fuel to start my day...no sign...no service window its like a secret club grinds. Assuming he used to sell Managua sadly none is to be found here but what you'll find is a great assortment of budge friendly items like donuts, pork hash, musubi, chicken and fried noodles. As I approach for my selection a gentleman was a delight ordering two pork hash 2/$1, fried noodles $3 and chicken $2...all was $6! Parked along the park you're able to take advantage to an impromptu picnic though we all basically take it togo as I did to work and fueled my morning for a productive work flow lol! The noodles are plain no cabbage or any veggies not even green onions just some sliced char siu and it was a bit dry but satisfied a hungry appetite, and the pork hash was a tiny single bite size tease and the chicken is similar to a chicken fried steak as it's boneless coated with mochiko it was okay and I was just happy to have a budge friendly choice to start my day. Thank you!
