Wait time is so bad that it's honestly not worth ordering and the staff is not efficient

My family and I were in the mood for Chinese food and we decided to give it a try. Here are my findings: One of my sons ordered a wonton soup. The broth was dark and tasted like iron. Typically the broth has to be clear. The odd flavor comes from soy sauce added, most likely too much of it. Also he ordered the chicken lo-main. Not to much success there either but somehow edible. My other son ordered Chicken friend rice. Dish was average. Not too bad. My aunt ordered fried shrimp. Not too bad either. I ordered pork wontons. They had a weird shape like Italian tortellini instead. The first order was overcooked. The pork lacked seasoning and the wontons were too dark and bitter. Now, here is the interesting thing: I asked to replace them with more acceptable wontons. The second try came in, also Italian shaped instead of the traditional Chinese way, less dark, still a bit over fried, but now, the inside of the tortellini-wonton were raw!!! Raw pork is a no no. It can send someone to the hospital. So I asked the waiter about the way that those wontons are prepared, and he confirmed my suspicion: Raw pork is put as filing in the wonton, then shaped, then fried. The basic rules of clocking says that raw pork does not cooks up at the same rate than the wonton sheets. This is a real bad one! Now, my main dish was the king-pao beef. I could not taste any garlic, ginger and scallions traditional base flavors from the Chinese cuisine, overshadow by too many red peppers and a plethora of soy sauce. The food was submerged in lots of sauce. Typically, the sauce is not runny, more like a syrup, and flavorful,. This looked like the thai drunken noodles. To dark chunks of dry beef, and nearly a pound of peanuts. Way too nutty. I was able to chew on that beef and ate it, leaving behind a huge waste of spicy veggies, peanuts and about 12 oz. of unnecessary soy sauce. Imagine the amount of sodium in that sauce. As an observation, none of the cooks is Asian AND not sure if they have experience in working that type of cuisine. My waiter had a good attitude when I was presenting my complaints about the food and did his best to fix it as much as he could control that. Definitely a place to NOT COME BACK TO. read more

Very clean restaurant overall. Food tasted good, quick, the right amount and a the right temperature. I order a General Tao's Chicken lunch portion with rice (included in the same price) and ice tea. It comes with a complementary soup choice of hot and sower or egg drop soup and fried noodle. Price is really good too. It was less then $20 including a $5 tip because of the good service experience. Good food and low budget. There's not meny places like this in El Paso Tx anymore. read more

Really enjoyed my Panda House order My second time. The lunches are in styrofoam boxes ready to eat! Entree, Rice and egg roll. So no need to spoon them out of bigger boxes. It basically is a neighborhood Chinese take-out place--nothing fancy about this place. It is in a shopping strip with a small supermarket in the residential area. It also delivers. We opted to dine-in. Service was friendly and fast during very busy lunch time. It didn't take too long to receive our food after we ordered though there were a couple of people waiting to pick up their take-outs and customers calling-in for delivery. Food was very good, I thought--what you'd expect from a neighborhood Chinese take-out place. Serving portion was generous for lunch plate. It came with an egg roll, soup and choice of rice. I was so hungry, I finished my plate clean. There are some competitions in this neighborhood for Chinese food. I need to go to other places to compare if this one is any better than others, but right now this might be the go-to Chinese place simply because I liked this one, and it's very close to our house. read more

Came there for sit-in dinner on a Thursday early evening. They did not have much traffic, mostly take-out. I picked the Kung Pao Chicken. Suoer-fresh, burn-your-darn-lip hot and tasty. They served the lunch portion still at this hour which was plenty. $12.23 which included a soda and hot and sour soup - great. And the service was superb as well. We placed an order from this location through grubhub at 632 PM at 815 PM we had not received our order and called the restaurant to see where it was they said that their driver left awhile ago because he had a lot of deliveries so I asked if my food was going to be cold he said he wound call the driver. At 820 PM he said the driver confirmed the order was cold and he was returning ing it to the restaurant and they would remake it fresh and send it out again. Do not order food from them not worth the wait now its 830 PM and I have to make food at my house or order from someone else and wait another 30-45 mins. When I ordered food at 630 PM and thought a reasonable time to wait for delivery so I could eat at a normal dinner time...Never again will I order from them!!!! Ordered Ma Po Tofu and it arrived with tofu and pork. The menu didn't indicate that it came with pork. The lady on the phone made the situation right by offering to deliver an alternate non-meat dish; HOWEVER, she asked for the incorrect, meat-laden dish be returned to them. The reason? People might be trying to get free food. (Btw, we're vegan and legitimately would never eat the dish.) Yes, people are such scammers that they would waste resources to run a $10.82 scam on the local Chinese restaurant. Seriously?!?!? There are so many other solutions than suspecting loyal customers of shenanigans. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Keep a record of the addresses that continually do this imaginary scam and don't do business with these obviously hungry souls. I specifically ordered orange chicken and chicken chow mien with the chicken on the side. Everything was right except the fact that there was no chow mien noodles. This had to honestly be one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant serving Chinese food! MEH. Went here because I thought it was tied to the Peking Garden on Trawood. It's not. Place is a tiny bare shop in a strip center. Food is OK but nothing to rave about. Place has no ambience, just a few tables and bare walls. Waitress couldn't tell my wife where the restroom was, and she never delivered the hot tea I ordered. My Orange Shrimp was tasty and there was plenty to take home for another meal, as was the walnut shrimp my wife got. It was much better than the presentation proclaimed. The fried rice was very bland. If I am craving Chinese food and this is really close by I might give it another try. But if I have to drive much to get there I'll go back to the fantastic Peking Garden on Trawood. I thought the prices were high but my wife felt they were reasonable. Aww come on. This place ain't so bad! Definitely a step up from Panda Ex. They've renovated within the last year so it's a much nicer place to sit than it used to be. And their customer service seems to have improved too. I've been coming here on and off for the last few years and have always found their food to be on par if not a bit better than most "strip mall" style Chinese establishments. This place is fine for what it is. Today was the second time I ordered delivery from Panda House. And for the second time, I was very pleased with the outcome. Both times the food arrived hot and fresh. The first time I ordered, I had the fried dumplings and combo fried rice. Both were very tasty. My hubby ordered the orange chicken with fried rice. Although he is not a big fan of Chinese food, he said he really enjoyed his meal. This time I ordered the egg rolls, egg drop soup, and combo fried rice. All came out very well. I especially enjoyed the egg drop soup. I was hesitant to order soup for fear it would spill in transit. It arrived just fine. Both times, the food was very well packaged. The order came with utensils, napkins, and sauce. So it was ready to eat right out of the bag.
